Sanremo 2025: Carlo Conti Announced as Host and Artistic Director

The eagerly awaited announcement has finally arrived: Carlo Conti will be the host and artistic director of Sanremo 2025 and 2026. This decision follows the five successful editions led by Amadeus.

The announcement was made during the Tg1 broadcast at 8 AM on Wednesday, May 22. Carlo Conti, who has signed a two-year contract, will be returning for his fourth and fifth editions after previously hosting three consecutive editions from 2015 to 2017.

Here are Carlo Conti’s first statements:

“I Conti tornano! After seven years, I will try to build on the work done by Baglioni and Amadeus. The first person to message me was Fiorello. I am grateful for all the affection from the people at Rai. Hosting Sanremo for the next two years, 2025 and 2026, will be a wonderful way to celebrate my 40 years at Rai. From today, I will start thinking about the regulations, then I will begin listening to the songs and start planning the team on stage. I don’t think Pieraccioni and Panariello will be regulars, as I always try to mix up the guests.”

The official Rai statement reads:

“A unanimous decision by the company’s top executives, CEO Roberto Sergio and General Director Giampaolo Rossi in agreement with Prime Time Entertainment Director Marcello Ciannamea. For the next two years, Conti will steer the most important national multimedia event organized by Rai and the Municipality of Sanremo. For Conti, this is not just a return to the Festival but a new challenge aimed at continuing to promote and highlight new trends, as he did in his successful editions from 2015 to 2017, which launched artists who are now key figures in Italian music. The Artistic Director is already at work planning a Festival full of surprises and novelties.”

Italy: Will Elettra Lamborghini be the next host of Sanremo and what changes could she bring to the festival?

Elettra Lamborghini, one of the biggest superstars of Italy, was invited in the radio show Un giorno da pecora and revealed that she will apply for the role of the host of the next edition of Sanremo Festival, after the withdrawal of Amadeus.

The granddaughter of Ferruccio Lamborghini, the founder of the talian manufacturer of luxury sports cars Lamborghini, announced that she would like to return to the stage of Sanremo not only as a performer but also as a host. In fact, she would like to host the festival, together with Alessandro Cattelan, one of the names considered as successors of Amadeus, but also familiar to fans, as he was one of the hosts of Eurovision 2022, in Turin, Italy.

As for the changes she would make at the Festival, as a hypothetical new artistic director, Elettra, on the occasion of this year’s results and the uproar created, with the dominance of Geolier, in televoting, considers that the current voting system should be reviewed, while she wishes better results, for songs that will enter the charts in the following weeks, after the festival.

Finally, on the occasion of the political statements on the stage of Sanremo, as happened in the case of Ghali, she believes that space should be given mainly to music.

Italy: Amadeus won’t host Sanremo 2025| These are the candidates for hosting the Festival!

We know for quite a while now, that Sanremo 2024, was going to be the last festival that the successful Amadeus would host. Now, after Angelina Mango’s win, the lights in Teatro Ariston went down, and RAI is searching for the new presenter of the Italian music show.

In their first joint interview in a popular Italian magazine, the italian presenter and his wife Giovanna Civitillo, talked about the withdrawal of Amadeus from the festival:

“After five years between Milan and Rome I want to devote myself to my wife and children, they fill up my life and they complete me. Off stage I’m like the sad clown, they’re my glass half full.”

H Giovanna Civitillo added that he is a capable, generous and honest man.

As of Festival di Sanremo 2025, there are already a few names that RAI is targeting. After both Carlo Conti (host and artistic director of the festival from 2015 until 2017) and Paolo Bonolis, (host of the 2005 festival) declined that offer, the public broadcaster has some other names in mind. These are Alessandro Cattelan, host of Eurovision 2022, Antonella Clerici (participant in Sanremo 2005, 2010) but also Alessia Marcuzzi.

The Festival di Sanremo 2024 was completed a few days ago, with Angelina Mango, being the first woman winning the festival after ten years. In Eurovision, Italy will take part directly in the Grand Final, as part of the BIG 5 group, in May 11:
