Czech Republic: Submission window for Eurovision 2023 is now open!

Ceska Televize, the public broadcaster of Czech Republic, opened the submission window for their selection for Eurovision 2023.

Once again, the Czech representative will be chosen through the national final ESCZ. Songs are accepted in their demo forms, while the deadlone is on December 8 at 23:59 CET.

Participants can be of any nationality, however the main singer must have Czech citizenship, and in case of a duet, at least one singer must be from the Czech Republic. One artist can send multiple songs. As always, the songs must not be published in any form until September 1st, 2022.

Three finalists will be selected for the national selection and will perform their songs live. The winner of the national selection will be decided by Czech and foreign fans (using voting in the official ESC application) and an expert jury. More information will be released over the next few days.

Finally, Ceska Televize stated that they have every right to cancel the national final, if for any reason they are unable to participate in Eurovision 2023.

The previous winner of ESCZ and Czech Republic’s representative in Eurovision 2022 were We Are Domi with the “Lights Off“ who ended up in 20th place in the Grand Final, while on the same time he brough their country back to the final after a non-qualification in 2021:
