Netherlands Second Rehearsal 2

The Netherlands: More than 600 songs submitted for Eurovision 2024!

The submission deadline for the Dutch internal selection for Eurovision 2024 has expired, as we informed you in yesterday’s article. Over 600 songs have been submitted, a record number for the country, according to Twan van de Nieuwenhuijzen, the chairman of the committee responsible for choosing the Dutch entry.

He noted that the genres of these songs are varied. Dance, rock, hip-hop, R&B, and even operatic songs are included. The majority of the songs are sung in English, but some of them also have lyrics in French, Arabic, Turkish, Spanish, and Italian, among other languages.

Finally, Twan van de Nieuwenhuijzen expressed his optimism about this year’s participation:

“I have a lot of confidence in finding the right song and artist this year”.

Tim Douwsma, Numidia, Joost & Donnie, and Stefania are some of the artists that might submit a proposal to represent the Netherlands.

Last year, Mia Nicolai and Dion Cooper represented the Netherlands with the song “Burning Daylight”. The entry placed 13th in the semifinals, marking the country’s first elimination since 2015.
