Denmark: Ιs Basim coming back to Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2024?
Ten years ago, Basim not only competed in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix but managed to win the country’s national final and represent Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest, held in Copenhagen in 2014.
Now Basim is returning to the Grand Prix, according to a report by Ekstra Bladet, as the singer-songwriter appears to have an official offer to participate in the country’s national final.
‘Cliche Love Song‘ brought Basim to 9th place in the world’s biggest music competition in 2014 and since then he has co-written hits like ‘Hvor er du bro?’ and ‘Sydpå’ for singer Bro.
Denmark’s public broadcaster DR has announced that the unveiling of the eight artists and their songs for the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2024 will take place on Thursday, January 25.
We remind you, Erik Struve Hansen, project manager of the Danish contest, made an interesting statement that at least one contestant has become famous in the past from his participation in the Eurovision contest.
The Dansk Melodi Grand Prix will take place on February 17th at the DR Koncerthuset, Copenhagen, with presenters Stéphanie Surrugue and Sara Bro.
Despite not being the public’s choice, Reiley won the ticket to Liverpool in 2023. He performed his song ‘Breaking My Heart’ in the second semi-final, failing to receive one of the ten tickets to the grand final.
