Eurovision odds: France drop to 18th | Lithuania in the top 10 for the first time!

We have had significant rearrangements in the betting odds for the winner of Eurovision 2024. Now entering the heart of the national finals season, the bets change almost daily, since the release of new songs is now continuous. Among the highlights of the changes are the huge drop for France and the sudden rise for Lithuania.

France in 18th place

France was the first country to announce its song for Eurovision 2024. Slimane with Mon Amour was consistently in the top ten of the bets, until recently it fell to 18th place.

Three bookmakers have greatly increased their odds for France to win and so for the first time this year, Slimane is at that position. Of course, it remains unknown what caused this great descent, since there was nothing new about the French entry, nor any bad live performance, which are usually developments that also affect the betting odds. It remains to be seen whether this was a fluke or temporary or some negative trend that will continue.

A joke entry took brought Lithuania in the top10

The release of a song that participates in the country’s national final for Eurovision 2024, has blown the wind in the sails of the small Baltic country and thus Lithuania, which has qualified for the final in recent years, is now in the eighth place of the betting companies.

The song in question is KABOOM!!! by VB Gang, which stole the limelight from The Roop, the big favorite in the Lithuanian national final.

The UK at the top

Olly Alexander with a little help from some in charge at the BBC and their very ambitious statements that they are coming to win Eurovision 2024 with a commercial song that will reach #1 in the charts was enough to get the UK to the top.

Close behind are the usual suspects Ukraine, Sweden, Italy and now in fifth place Norway, which very recently announced the candidates for its own national final. Israel is now in sixth place, with the top ten being closed by Spain, Lithuania, Switzerland and Greece, which has remained stable for a few days in the top 10.

Of course, the road is still very long and a lot has to change until the evening of Saturday, May 11, when the final of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest will be held.
