Iceland: A singer from Palestine among Söngvakeppnin 2024 contestants!

The artists and songs for Söngvakeppnin 2024, the national final of Iceland, are going to be announced in a few days, however, we may already know one of the artists taking part.

We’re talking about Bashar Murad from Palestine, who according to the news department of the channel, will be one of the ten artists taking part in the semi-finals of  Söngvakeppnin 2024, which will start on February 17, on RÚV.

According to the Icelandic website “Visir”, Murad lives in the Eastern part of Jerusalem, and he tries to challenge the stereotypes that have been made against the Palestinians, with his music.

Along others, Murad has collaborated with Hatari, the country’s representatives in 2019, and he has sung in Iceland in May of the same year.

Yesterday, Iceland announced that its participation in Eurovision 2024 is still uncertain due to the ongoing conflict in Gaza and that everything will be decided when the winner of Söngvakeppnin is chosen. You can read more HERE.

No Dimitris, supporting Palestine is like supporting Ukraine. Too bad you do not see it. Have you forgotten about all the massacres against the people of Palestine?

No Jonas, supporting Palestine is like supporting Russia. Ukraine has not started countless wars against Russia, Ukrainians do not expect Russia to be removed from the surface of the Earth, Ukrainians do not send hundreds of missiles to Russian homes, Ukrainian authorities are not considered terrorists, Ukrainians have not rejected any peace plan accepted by the international community, Ukrainians don’t break into houses and murder families, they don’t commit terrorist attacks on the streets of Moscow, they don’t kidnap Russians. You should be ashamed that you even thought of comparing Ukrainians to the Palestinians. It’s a disgrace for these brave people.

No, supporting Palestine is like supporting Palestine. Because what is happing in Ukraine, is nothing compared to Palestine.
So the support of Palestine can’t be compared to Ukraine due to the extreme genocide and the suffering that taking place in Palestine.

Hitler never should have made that deal with the Zionist Movement in 1933. He was a Zionist. He should have sent them to the chambers.
