France: Return to national final to select future representatives?
After two consecutive years of internal selections, Alexandra Redde-Amiel, France’s head of delegation, states in an interview that a national selection process is likely to be used to select the country’s future Eurovision entries.
The French head of delegation, spoke on the show “Culture Médias” of Europe 1 Radio, and answered whether a national final process would be possible, bearing in mind the latest internal selections. In detail, she said:
“We haven’t completely abandoned the idea. When you get an artist like Slimane, we say to ourselves that it would be interesting to put the national selection on hold for now. I still have a lot of desire to reflect on what a national selection could look like. But we could do it again at some point.”
The last time France selected a representative through a national final was in 2022, when Alvan & Ahez traveled to Turin with “Fulenn”, while in 2023, France internally selected La Zarra.
Slimane will represent France at Eurovision 2024, with the song “Mon Amour” and will take part directly in the Grand Final, on May 11:

Hi, a little question about Slimane
Do you know if he will have dancers on stage in the final as a lot of his colleagues?
Thank you in advance
