Israel: The Orthodox Rum Valerie Hamaty shines on HaKokhav Haba with “October Rain”

Valerie Hamaty, an Arabic-speaking Orthodox Rum, has emerged as the favorite to represent Israel in Eurovision 2025. In the latest episode of HaKokhav Haba, the show through which Israel selects its Eurovision representative, Valerie performed October Rain, captivating both the audience and the judges, and earning an impressive 95% of the votes.

The contestants competed in duets during this episode of HaKokhav Haba. With less than a month left until the winner is crowned, Valerie Hamaty appears closer than ever to achieving her goal of representing Israel in Basel.

Valerie performed October Rain alongside Daniel Wais, whose parents tragically lost their lives on October 7, 2023, during the Hamas terrorist attack.
