Albania: Elsa Lila returns to Festivali i Këngës 62!
After last year’s triumph with the song “Evita”, Elsa Lila is reportedly returning to Festivali i Këngës 62, in order to claim her fourth win in the Festival!
According to exclusive information of “Vip Magazine” people from the singer’s closer environment state that in accordance with her concert in palace of Congresses, Elsa Lila is getting ready to take part in Fest 62.
She is ready to win once again but this time she will aim for the Eurovision Song Contest, representing her country, Albania.
For the record, Elsa Lila has won Festivali i Këngës three times, in 1996, 1997 and 2022!
Last year, Elsa Lila was the winner of Festivali i Këngës 61 by the juries, however the public vote was won by Albina & Familja Kelmendi, and thus she was the country’s representative in Eurovision.
Changes in Festivali i Këngës 62
As we’ve previously informed you, it was confirmed that Festivali i Këngës will see another change in its voting format in 2023. In last year’s edition, Festivali i Këngës had two separate winners. The winner of the jury voting was crowned as the winner of the festival and the winner of the public vote was the chosen one for the Albanian representation in the Eurovision Song Contest. In detail,
- Elsa Lila with her song “Evita” won the jury voting and was crowned as the winner of Festivali i Këngës 61
- Albina & Familja Kelmendi with “Duje” won the public vote, being the jury runner-up and won the ticket to Liverpool
This year, the winner and representative of the country in Eurovision Song Contest 2024, will be chosen by a combination of jury and public vote. That means the voting format of Eurovision, namely the 50/50 split, will be used to chose the Albanian entry.
Festivali i Këngës 62 is expected to take place in late December and will be consisted of 27 contestants, 14 “Big” artists and 13 newcomers.
