Junior Eurovision 2020: Polish host broadcaster isn’t sure the contest will take place!

Junior Eurovision 2020 is scheduled to take place in less than two months. This year’s event will take place in Warsaw and so far 13 countries have confirmed their participation. However, it seems that nothing is certain yet, since even Poland does not take the realization of Junior Eurovision 2020 for granted!

On the Polish website for the competition, Dziennik Eurowizyjny, the country’s public television confirmed that the winner of Szansa na sukces, Poland’s national final for Junior Eurovision, if the competition does not take place due to the pandemic, will appear at the Opole Song Festival 2021 .

Poland has been using Szansa na sukces to select its representatives in the Junior Eurovision junior competition for the last two years, giving it an equal number of victories.

The countries that have so far confirmed their participation in Junior Eurovision 2020 are the following:

  • Netherlands
  • Germany
  • Malta
  • Spain
  • France
  • Ukraine
  • Russia
  • Poland
  • Portugal
  • Serbia
  • Belarus
  • Kazakhstan
  • Georgia

Three countries that took part in last year’s competition have not yet clarified their intentions. These are:

  • Italy
  • Armenia
  • Albania

If everything goes according to plan, Junior Eurovision 2020 will take place on November 29 in Warsaw, in a TV studio and not in an arena, as usual!

Poland was the winner of Junior Eurovision 2019 for the second consecutive time with the song Superhero:
