Sweden: The betting odds, just a few moments before the Second Melodifestivalen 2023 Heat results!

Melodifestivalen 2023 Second Heat show will begin in a few moments, with the new competition and voting format in place and will be aired on SVT and SVT Play. Seven contestants will have to compete against each other tonight, in order to secure one of the direct finalist places, or if not directly qualifying to the finals, claiming their ticket for the fifth semi-final, as their last chance in the hopes of competing at the finals.

The odds

The betting odds depend on many factors and as these factors are subject to changes anytime, the odds can still fluctuate, even last minute. Currently there seem to be two clear direct finalists and these are Jon Henrik Fjällgren, Arc North feat. Adam Woods and Tone Sekelius.

As for the two semi-final qualifiers, we might have quite a close combat between some of the artists. Currently, in the third and fourth place of the betting odds we have Elov & Beny and Victor Crone.

Malta: MESC semi-finalists announced!

MESC 2023 has just finished their qualification round and Malta Public Television has announced the 24 artists who have qualified for the semi-final.

The artists who qualified for the Semi-Finals are the following:

A combined vote of a televote and a jury made the results for this round.  After this stage the competing 24 artists will have to fight once again in the Semi-Final for one of the 16 spots in the Maltese final. The semi-final will take place on February 9, with the final taking place on February 11.

Spain: Tonight the Grand Final of Benidorm Fest 2023!

The time for the grand final of Benidorm Fest 2023 has arrived, which means that in a few hours we will know the representative of Spain in the 67th Eurovision Song Contest.

This year’s Benidorm Fest presenters will be presenter Inés Hernández, singer Mónica Naranjo and presenter Rodrigo Vázquez.

Finalists

Eight artists will compete tonight to represent Spain in Liverpool. These artists are:

  1. Karmento“Quiero y duelo”
  2. Megara“Arcadia”
  3. Alice Wonder“Yo quisiera”
  4. Fusa Nocta “Mi familia”
  5. Agoney“Quiero arder”
  6. Blanca Paloma“Eaea”
  7. José Otero “Inviernos en Marte”
  8. Vicco“Nochentera”

Format

A total of 18 songs will take part in Benidorm Fest 2023 after being selected by the competent jury of RTVE. Nine songs will participate in each of the two semi-finals, with the best four advancing to the Grand Final.

The jury of this year’s festival is particularly interesting, as it consists of:

  • Nina (Spanish singer, representative of Spain in 1989)
  • Christer Bjorkman (Swedish singer and producer, former head of Melodifestivalen)
  • Tali Eshkoli (Israeli television producer and Israel’s head of mission)
  • Nicola Caligiore (Italian, former head of mission of Italy)
  • Katrina Leskanich (American singer, UK representative in 1997)
  • William Lee Adams (founder of wiwibloggs)
  • Irene Valiente (Spanish presenter and producer)
  • Juan Jose Santana (Spanish, president of OGAE Spain and composer of past Spanish entries)

In the Grand Final, as in the two semi-finals, the result will be decided by 50% by the jury, 25% by a poll panel and 25% by the public vote.

Norway: Grand Final of MGP 2023 tonight!

The moment of truth for Norway has arrived. Tonight the Nordic country chooses its Eurovision 2023 representative as the grand final of the Melodi Grand Prix 2023 takes place.

Format

Melodi Grand Prix 2023 consists of four shows: three heats and the grand final, from which the representative of the Scandinavian country in the 67th Eurovision Song Contest will emerge. Seven artists participate in each semifinal, with the best three of them in the ranking advancing to the final.

After three shows we will reach the night of the grand final, in which a total of nine artists will participate and claim the representation of Norway in this year’s contest.

Finalists

Nine artists are participating in tonight’s grand final of the Norwegian national selection, claiming the “ticket” to Liverpool. These artists, in order of appearance, are:

  2. Eline ThorpNot Meant to Be
  3. Skrellex — Love Again
  4. Ulrikke Brandstorp – “Honestly“
  5. Umami Tsunami – “Geronimo“

  8. Elsie Bay — “Love you in a dream”
  9. Alessandra Mele – Queen of Kings“

In the Grand Final, for the first time since 2019, there will also be an international jury that will determine 50% of the result while the remaining 50% will be determined by the public vote. This year’s Melodi Grand Prix presenters will be presenter Arian Engebø and singer Stian Thorbjørnsen who has also participated in MGP in 2015 and 2021.

An extra addition to this year’s national final, is that NRK decided to give the contestants the opportunity to use Auto-Tune in their performances so that they can be more perfect vocally.

Sweden: Heat 1 of Melodifestivalen 2023 tonight!

The curtain opens tonight for Melodifestivalen 2023, with the first heat of this year’s Swedish national selection. Four heats, one semi-final and the grand final will keep us company from today until March 11, when we will officially find out the representative of Sweden in Eurovision 2023.

In tonight’s first semifinal, seven entries claim the two tickets to the final, while two more entries will have the chance to compete in the semi-final on March 4th.

Format

Two songs will directly qualify to the grand final of Melodifestivalen 2023, which will take place on the 11th of March. The songs that will place third and fourth will have to compete again, at the semi-final, held on the 4th of March. There will be four heats in total.

As we have already informed you, the voting system of Melodifestivalen has changed following the announced changes by EBU regarding the voting format in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool!

The broadcaster now scraps the group division at the fifth show, known as the semi-final and all eight contestants will now have to face each other. Points will be awarded from the viewing groups and the four entries with the highest points will advance to the final!

The dates of Melodifestivalen 2023

  • Heat 1: Göteborg – Saturday 4 February 2023 (Scandinavium)
  • Heat 2: Linköping – Saturday 11 February 2023 (Saab Arena)
  • Heat 3: Lidköping – Saturday 18 February 2023 (Sparbanken Arena)
  • Heat 4: Malmö – Saturday 25 February 2023 (Malmö Arena)
  • Semi-Final: Örnsköldsvik – Saturday 4 March 2023 (Hägglunds Arena)
  • Final: Stockholm – Satuday 11 March 2023 (Friends Arena)

Melodifestivalen 2023 is scheduled to take place between February 4th to March 11th and will be hosted by Jesper Rönndahl and Farah Abadi.

Latvia: Supernova 2023 semi-final tonight!

The time has come for Latvia to choose its participant in Eurovision 2023. The semifinal of Supernova 2023, the process of nominating the representative of the Baltic country in the 67th Eurovision Song Contest, is taking place today.

Participants

Fourteen songs will compete in tonight’s semifinal of Supernova, ten of which will advance to next Saturday’s grand final. The final result will be based on the vote of the public and the jury.

Lithuania: Pabandom iš naujo 2023 Semi-final 1 tonight!

Pabandom iš naujo 2023 continues tonight, the process of choosing the representative of Lithuania in Eurovision 2023. In the next five weeks, the Baltic country is called upon to choose the artist who will represent it in Liverpool at the 67th Eurovision Song Contest.

As it is known, Pabandom iš naujo 2023 consists of five shows: two heats, two semifinals and the grand final. The result for all 5 nights will be determined 50% by the TV audience and 50% by a five-member jury. For the first time, the judges will not be revealed, with the results announced at the end of each show to ensure that the audience’s vote is not affected.

Presenters of this year’s edition of Pabandom iš naujo are Giedrius Masalskis, Augustė Nombeko and Richardas Jonaitis.

Fifteen artists will compete in tonight’s first semi-final of Pabandom Iš Naujo 2023, with the ten best qualifying for the semifinals.

Ireland: Wild Youth won Eurosong 2023!

Tonight Ireland voted for their Eurovision representative.  Ireland chose Eurosong 2023 as their national selection, a special broadcast for The Late Late Show.

Ryan Tubridy hosted the national selection.

The general rehearsal of the First Melodifestivalen 2023 Heat has just started. We are happy to be watching it live, at Scandinavium in Gothenburg, Sweden. We will be covering this rehearsal, describing in detail what is happening during the show, for you to follow the entire process.

The show

Jesper Rönndahl and Farah Abadi will present Melodifestivalen 2023. The heats will follow the touring concept again, after SVT had pulled back last year due to health restrictions in Sweden, with the finals being held at Friends Arena! With the opening of the contest in Göteborg, Saturday February the 4th,Melodifestivalen will be held in Linköping, Lidköping, Malmö, Örnsköldsvik and then in Stockholm on the 11th of March.

A few minutes ago the Spanish Public Broadcaster RTVE revealed the running order of the artists and their songs who are going to take part in the Grand Final of the Benidorm Fest 2023, tomorrow, Saturday 4th of February.

The running order of the 8 Finalists is as follows:
