Will Poli Genova represent Bulgaria in Eurovision 2024?

The complete lineup of countries taking part in the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest, which is scheduled to take place in Malmö, Sweden in May, has not yet been released. But in the preceding days, the head of the French delegation and the official X account of the Bulgarian delegation both indicated that 41 countries, as opposed to last year’s 37, will participate in this year’s competition. The question of whether Bulgaria will compete in Eurovision again in 2024 has been raised as a result of this.

Poli Genova stated she would like to compete again if given the opportunity, in an interview with Wiwibloggs:

The moment I have the green light I’m going to do it.

Poli Genova represented Bulgaria at Eurovision 2011, failing to qualify for the final, and returned five years later, in 2016, finishing fourth. Additionally, in 2015, she presented Junior Eurovision in Sofia.

Would you like to see Poli Genova returning to the competition?

Increased security measures in place for Eurovision 2024!

Concerns regarding the security level of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest, which is scheduled to take place in May in Malmö, Sweden, are intensifying in light of the volatile circumstances in the Middle East. More precisely, many fear that a terrorist attack may be directed towards the contest. In response to these worries, this year’s organizers have stated unequivocally that there will be higher levels of security than in previous years.

Specifically, Ebba Adielsson, executive producer for Eurovision on the Swedish public television, specifically stated that there was no need for concern because SVT, which recently organized the competition in 2013 and 2016, is planning this year’s competition with a security focus in light of the current circumstances. To make sure the required actions are taken, the organizers are in regular communication with the Malmö police authority.

In the meantime, the Competition’s executive producer, Martin Österdahl, stated the following:

Each year, EBU collaborates closely with the authorities to guarantee the security of all attendees of the Eurovision Song Contest.

It has not yet been revealed which countries will take part in the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest. This is probably connected to Israel and the higher threat of terrorism that its participation would pose. In the upcoming period, the EBU decision is anticipated to be finalized.

Ten artists are most likely to advance to the next round of the Dutch selection process for the 68th Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in May in Malmö, Sweden, according to Dutch journalist Aran Bade, who made this revelation on RTL’s Boulevard. He clarified, though, that this information was still pending confirmation.

According to information from Dutch public television, more than 600 applications were submitted this year, a record number for the country. Among the names that claim the Dutsch representation are Caroline van der Leeuw, Douwe Bob, Tim Douwsma, Numidia and the rappers Joost & Donnie.

According to the Dutch commentator, the decision on the country’s representative is expected to be finalized and announced in mid-December.

The CEO of Panik Records discusses Josephine’s potential participation in Eurovision in the future!

George Arsenakos, the CEO of PANIK Records, the label that Josephine is signed to, discussed the rumors that have been circulating for the past few months regarding Josephine’s potential participation in Eurovision 2024. He said that there had never been any conversations regarding her participating in the competition!

Josephine was never meant to compete in Eurovision! We were not contacted by ERT. What the public television would like is not the same as what the Eurovision fans want.

Georgos Arsenakos also spoke about Marina Satti, expressing his satisfaction with ERT’s choice:

This year, the decision made by public television was excellent. I believe we’ll do well because Marina Satti is an amazing artist!

Josephine recently discussed Eurovision as well, stating that, despite her claims last month that she was in talks with ERT for Eurovision 2024, participating in the contest is not one of her top priorities.

We had discussions regarding Eurovision, but they stalled. I’m not dying to do it. My country is the only reason I would do it. I sincerely hope Marina Satti will succeed because she deserves it.

Greece: Marina Satti’s song will not be decided by a broadcaster’s committee!

The song with which Marina Satti will represent Greece in Malmö and Eurovision 2024 will not be chosen via a televised show and hence by the audience. Thus, it was mentioned in “SUPER Katerina” morning show, that no jury will be involved in the selection of the song either.

The abolishment of a special committee for Eurovision 2024

The decision-makers have decided that there will be no involvement of a committee in choosing the Greek song for the upcoming competition. Βearing in mind the severe criticism ERT faced earlier this year about its selection process which led to the worst Greek result in Eurovision history, the reason behind this decision is considered quite obvious.

As a short reminder, the jury’s preferences were vastly different from the audience committee’s ones. Regardless Melissa Mantzouki’sLiar” finishing first by a wide margin in the audience’s vote, the jury ranked her last, depriving her of the Greek representation in Liverpool.

As a result, in order to keep a possible committee out of the spotlight, ERT appears to have made the decision that the selection of Marina Satti’s song for Eurovision 2024 will take place without the involvement of any committee. Nevertheless, Marina Satti herself was chosen as the Greek representative without the involvement of any committee.
