Luxembourg: Commentators for RTL and spokesperson unveiled!

The lineup for Luxembourg’s RTL’s coverage of the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden, has been revealed.

The commentators for RTL will be Raoul Roos and Roger Saurfeld.

Who will the spokesperson be?

Many have been wondering who will be the person to hand out the first “twelve points” of the country following its thirty years of absence. Other than Désirée Nosbusch, there would be none. Désirée Nosbusch is no stranger to the Eurovision community, having hosted the contest the last time it was held in Luxembourg in 1984. She was one of the hosts of the Luxembourg Song Contest earlier this year. Given that she was only 19 years old in 1984, Désirée Nosbusch is actually one of the youngest hosts in the contest’s history.

So far, the following countries have revealed their spokesperson for Eurovision 2024 in Malmö:

  • Georgia – Sopho Khalvashi
  • Belgium – Livia Dushkoff
  • Switzerland – Jennifer Bosshard
  • Azerbaijan – Aisel 
  • Slovenia – Lorella Flego
  • Luxembourg – Désirée Nosbusch

Tali will represent Luxembourg with her song “Fighter” and will perform last in the first semi-final of May 7.

EBU for what is revealed in the Cypriot Ambassador’s document: “We condemn any attempt to manipulate the vote”!

The EBU gave an answer to the issue that arose in the previous days with the official document of the Cypriot Ambassador about his meeting with the President of ERT, during which, according to the former, Mr. Zoulas announced the low score of Cyprus in the upcoming song contest Eurovision. According to what was published by the newspaper Ta Nea, which is published today, Monday 22/4, the EBU reacted to all these developments, publicly condemning any attempt to manipulate the scores of either the critical committees or the televoting.

The voting voting rules for the Eurovision Song Contest, which are known to all participating broadcasters, describe that the juries must vote independently and in a completely fair and objective manner. We condemn any attempt to manipulate either the public or the jury vote in the Eurovision Song Contest. All voting procedures are checked by an independent observer to ensure that we provide a fair and valid result throughout the competition.

In today’s article in Ta Nea, it is stated that there is particular concern in the EBU for the question marks that have been created, as well as that the answer given by the President of ERT did not particularly reassure the European decision-makers. Croatia: Baby Lasagna with “Rim Tim Tagi Dim” live on the Slovenian TV!

Croatia’s representative in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2024, Baby Lasagna, who is one of the big favourites for the trophy according to bookmakers, appeared live on Slovenian state television channel RTVSLO1 to perform the country’s entry “Rim Tim Tagi Dim”!

Croatia in first place is going to appear in the 7th place of the First Semi-Final which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 7 May claiming one of the 10 tickets to the grand final on Saturday 11 May.

USA: Eurovision 2024 to be Broadcast on Peacock!

Eurovision Song Contest 2024 is set to be exclusively streamed on Peacock, NBC’s streaming service in the United States.

The Eurovision Song Contest returns to Peacock, the streaming service of NBC. Coverage will start at 3pm ET on each day. The Eurovision Song Contest has been streamed on Peacock since 2021, when NBC signed an agreement with the EBU for the creation of the American Song Contest.

The Eurovision Song Contest was previously broadcast in the United States on Logo TV. Logo’s first broadcast of Eurovision in 2016 was hosted by Carson Kressley  and Michelle Collins of “The View.” 52,000 viewers in the USA watched the show that year.

In 2017, commentating duties were taken over by “RuPaul’s Drag Race” stars Ross Mathews and Michelle Visage. The American broadcast of the Eurovision 2017 final attracted 64,000 viewers, while 74,000 viewers watched the live broadcast of the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 Grand Final from Lisbon.

The following non-participating countries have confirmed broadcasts of Eurovision 2024:

  • North Macedonia – MRT
  • United States – Peacock

Listen to the performances of Ireland, Denmark and Iceland in “A Little Bit More”!

Just like last year, some time before the first rehearsals of the countries, the show called “A Little Bit More” aired on the official Eurovision YouTube channel.

The Netherlands: A new form of the moon landing in Eurovision 2024?

Gover Meit thinks that the viewers of the Eurovision Song Contest next month will see something that has never been seen before during the event when it is the turn of the Netherlands to appear on stage. “It will be a new form of the moon landing. It has never been done before,” said the theater maker, who is coming to Malmö as creative director.

“People are not going to believe that this is physically possible,” he continued, without going into details about Joost Klein‘s act. Meit, who is known to the general public as Stefano Keizers, is a good friend of Joost and can also be seen in Europapa’s video clip. He probably won’t be on stage himself. Meit says he is needed ‘behind the scenes’.

Joost Klein has also previously said that something awaits the Eurovision Song Contest that ‘has never happened before’.

In any case, the bookmakers have high expectations of the Dutch Eurovision Song Contest entry. On Saturday Klein rose from four to three and now only has Croatia and Switzerland in front of him at the betting offices.

Italy: Angelina Mango performs “La Noia” live on Croatian television!

Angelina Mango, the Italian representative in Eurovision 2024, was hosted last night in “Zvijezde pjevaju” on Croatian television. “Zvijezde pjevaju” is the Croatian version of the internationally-known TV show, “Just the Two of Us” and airs on HRT.

Italy is one of the hot favorites to win Eurovision 2024 and as a member of the BIG 5 is automatically granted a spot in the Grand Final of May 11.
