The preparations in Nice for the 21st Junior Eurovision Song Contest are on fire and it is now a wrap for the fourth day of this year’s technical rehearsals. Following their first rehearsals on Tuesday, the representatives from nine out of the sixteen participating countries, took the stage of Palais Nikaia today for their second rehearsals.

The second rehearsals gave the opportunity to the delegations to fix any mistakes spotted on the first rehearsals as well as to help the young artists feel more safe and familiar with the big stage. Meanwhile clips from this rehearsals’ stage will be used in the recap video for the first phase of the Online Voting, which is conducted before the show.

The first and second rehearsals were not open to journalists and we could only take a glimpse of what the young artists have prepared via photos. EBU has just uploaded through the official Junior Eurovision channel in YouTube a recap of today’s rehearsals. Specifically, we will have the chance to watch exclusive TV footage of today’s rehearsals.

What’s next?

Tomorrow, the seven remaining countries will have their second rehearsals. Following the conclusion of tomorrow’s rehearsals, the first phase of the Online Voting, which will determine 50% of Sunday’s results, will begin. The voting will remain open throughout Saturday, will then close just before the show and will reopen shortly after the final performance of the show for approximately fifteen minutes.

The 21st Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place on November 26 in Nice, France, following Lissandro’s win last year in Yerevan with “Oh maman!”. It will be the second time in just three years that France will host the big event, with the first being in 2021.

Junior Eurovision 2023: The first rehearsals of the 16 participating countries!

The 21st edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest is just around the corner. Artists from sixteen different countries have arrived in Nice, where they will have the opportunity to sing live in front of millions of audience.

Those “Heroes” have been preparing for months and they have just underwent their first technical rehearsals at the stage of Palais Nikaia, where the main event will take place. The First Rehearsals began yesterday and were concluded today.

As in the adult Eurovision, no journalists were allowed to watch the first rehearsals. Moreover, there were no rehearsal clips uploaded. Hence, there is no audiovisual material, except some photos uploaded on the official social media accounts of the competition. Junior Eurovision 2023: The running order of the show!

In just less than a week, the 21st Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place live from Nice, France, following Lissandro’s win last year in Yerevan.

It is the second time in Junior Eurovision Contest’s history that the contest is being held in France, with the last time being just two years, which proves the powerhouse that France has begun in the contest.

Tonight, live from Hotel Negresco, located on the much-publicised Promenade des Anglais, the opening ceremony took place. The event was hosted by Carla Lazzari, the French representative at Junior Eurovision 2019 and presenter Manon Théodet.

During the opening ceremony a draw was held in order to determine three spots in Sunday’s show running order:

  • the country that will open the show and perform at spot number one
  • the country that will close the show and perform at spot number sixteen
  • the running order spot in which the host country, namely France, will perform

The draw was conducted by Lissandro, last year’s Junior Eurovision winner with the following outcome:

  • Spain will perform at spot number one
  • France will perform at spot number twelve
  • The Netherlands will close the show, at spot number sixteen

The rest of the running order was decided by the organizers of the show and it was now revealed.

Hence, the final running order of the 21st Junior Eurovision Song Contest is the following:

Junior Eurovision 2023: Opening ceremony today!

The week of Junior Eurovision 2023 has arrived! In less than seven days we will know the winner of the 21st edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, held this year in Nice, France, with the Western European powerhouse hosting the contest for the second time in just three years.

The traditional opening ceremony to welcome all the delegations will take place today at the Hotel Negresco located on the much-publicised Promenade des Anglais at 17:00 CET. The event will be broadcast live on France TV and on the official YouTube channel of the contest.

The event will be hosted by Carla Lazzari, France’s representative at Junior Eurovision 2019 and presenter Manon Théodet.

Each of the sixteen delegations will be welcomed in Nice by journalist Laura Tenoudji and digital ambassador Ophénya. The ceremony will also include performances by each of France’s Junior Eurovision representatives since their return to the contest in 2018, with the singers performing parts of their songs.

During the opening ceremony , three places in the performance order will be determined. Following a draw, the countries that will open and close Sunday’s contest will be known, as well as the order of appearance for host France.

The remaining 13 places in the line-up will be known after the opening ceremony, with full details to be announced on the official website of the contest.

Junior Eurovision 2023: Listen to Armenia’s song!

With only a month to go until the 21st Junior Eurovision contest, the song that will represent last year’s host, Armenia in the contest has just been released.

This year, ARMTV selected Yan Girls to represent the country in Junior Eurovision 2023.

Their song is now available and is titled “Do It My Way” composed by tokionine, Vahram Petrosyan (Armenia JESC 2021) and Maléna, the winner of Junior Eurovision 2021.

Who are Yan Girls?

Yan Girls are a girl band featuring Nane, Nensi, Kamilla, Syuzana and Aida.

Inspired by their favourite K-pop artists, the group wants to bring that familiar sound to the Junior Eurovision stage and take it to a whole new level.

Young, colorful, rebellious and poppy, Yan Girls sing about the importance of staying true to yourself, being confident and doing things the best way – their way.

The 21st Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Nice, France, on the 26th of November, following Lissandro’s win last year in Yerevan.

Junior Eurovision 2023: Will recent developments affect Armenia’s participation?

Armenia is officially one of the 16 countries that have announced that they will be participating in Junior Eurovision 2023, however recent events in Nagorno-Karabakh make it uncertain whether they will be able to compete in Nice after all.

No final decision has yet been made, as Martin sterdahl, the Executive Supervisor of the competition, stated to 20 Minutes during a press conference held in Nice on Wednesday.

“The EBU will keep track of the unfolding of the really worrying situation”.

Armenia’s participation in this year’s contest will likely be decided in the upcoming days. Although Baku’s 24-hour military operation did not extend to Armenia’s main territory, the country is currently dealing with significant refugee flows that are leaving Nagorno-Karabakh for Armenia after the former was merged into Azerbaijan. Obviously, the country does not place a high importance on competing in Junior Eurovision at this point.

Armenia: Rosa Linn has been consistently on the German singles charts for exactly one year with “SNAP”!

A big success for Rosa Linn from Armenia and her participation in Eurovision 2022 with the song “SNAP”. The song has been in the official German Top 100 singles charts for exactly one year. The overwhelming record: It entered the chart on 15 July 2022, peaking at number 8, and has been in the charts for 53 weeks so far. Rossa Linn’s song managed to go platinum with more than 400,000 sales. It is also noteworthy that “SNAP” continues to maintain its position in the charts in Austria and Switzerland.

The above numbers become even more impressive when you realize that Rosa Linn and “SNAP” is one of only four songs that have been consistently on the German singles charts for a year and even managed to stay on them during the difficult Christmas week. In the current German Top 100 singles charts, “SNAP” is at number 86, so it is very likely that Rossa Linn’s journey in the charts is not over yet.

Even before the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy, Rosa Linn was still buzzing with her statements as she announced that she was working hard to become the first global superstar from Armenia. We must admit that she has made significant steps towards her goal, and has experienced great success despite her 20th place in the Eurovision 2022 contest. Currently, Rosa Linn is touring the US and Canada with Ed Sheeran, and “SNAP” has gone gold and platinum in many European and North American countries.

Armenia: The viewing figures for Eurovision 2023!

For the first time the Armenian public television station AMP-TV1 brings to light the ratings of the Eurovision Song Contest.

The 67th Eurovision Song Contest 2023 attracted high audience ratings in several European countries and beyond. Specifically in Armenia, according to the official data of AMP-TV1, the Eurovision 2023 Grand Final managed to reach 258,245 viewers, representing 71.09% of the audience share.

Armenia with Brunette and the song “Future Lover” finished in 14th place in the Erovision 2023 Grand Final.

Iveta Mukuchyan: I want to take part in Eurovision again!

Eurovision is a song contest where thousands of artists have already taken part and wish to do so again.One of them is Iveta Mukuchyan,who was first introduced to the European audience with her 2016 entry “Lovewave” which won her the 7th place in the Grand Final.To this date,the song remains a fan-favourite with fans expressing their wish to watch her gracing the Eurovision stage again.

Hours shy of the completion of this year’s Eurovision,Iveta stated on Twitter that she is interested in being involved in the song contest again,but this time on behalf of Germany,the country that she grew up in.Iveta is no stranger to the German audience,as she had entered the German version of “The Voice” in 2012 singing the winning song of that year’s Eurovision,”Euphoria”.

Germany finished in the last place in this year’s contest,being represented by Lord of the Lost and their song “Blood and Glitter”.
