Sweden: The lyrics of the songs competing at the Third Semi-Final of Melodifestivalen 2022!

Melodifestivalen 2022 started a few days ago, on February the 5th! The first three semi-finals of the national selection process of Sweden, are held at The Avicii Arena in Stockholm, which is the largest hemispherical building in the world and semi-final four, five and the final are to be held at Friends Arena, also in Stockholm.

A while ago, SVT, the Swedish national broadcaster released the lyrics of all seven competing songs, of the third semi-final.

You can read the lyrics of the third semi-final songs below:

1. Cazzi Opeia – “I Can’t Get Enough(Writers: Bishat Araya, Jakob Redtzer, Cazzi Opeia, Paul Rey)

(Ah ah, ah ah, ah ah)

I know that i’m a mess

I’m the first one to confess

I got issues

Baby I got issues

We both got pretty scars

But I love your every flaw

When I’m with you

I won’t try to fix you

So what, so what if we get drunk

Or get a little wild, sometimes

Oh I

don’t mind if we get in a fight

As long as we collide

I feel alive

Oh when you taste like that

And I could die

Oh with a face like that

I can’t get enough

I can’t get enough

I can’t get enough of you

I can’t get enough

I can’t get enough

I can’t get enough of you

I’m haunted by your kiss

And the flavour of your lips

Let me have it

Baby I’m an addict

Oh no I can’t resist

Your touch, your fingertips

Is like no other

We’re perfect for each other

Oh so what If the world is upside down

As long as you’re around

I feel alive

Oh when you taste like that

And I could die

Oh with a face like that

I can’t get enough

I can’t get enough

I can’t get enough of you

I can’t get enough

I can’t get enough

I can’t get enough of you

Life is so much so much better

When we are together

So why be alone?

No one love me love me better

Lucky number 7

Baby you’re the one

And I can’t get enough

I can’t get enough

I can’t get enough of you

I can’t get enough

I can’t get enough

I can’t get enough of you

(Ah ah, ah ah, ah ah)

2. Lancelot  - “Lyckligt slut(Writers: Lancelot Hedman, Niklas Carson Mattsson )

Utanför porten

Står jag och ler

Ler som en idiot

Fåglarna sjunger

Sjunger i dur

Allt är så vackert nu

Men jag

Vill inte ha nåt vackert

Jag vill ha nåt som är fult

För vackert har ett slut

Jag kunde dö just nu

Med dig här i min famn

Vi dansar livet ut

Alla sorger blir till sand

För om tiden rinner ut

Om det är över nu

Får jag ett lyckligt slut

Kanske för bra men

Låt det va sant

Ljuger jag för mig själv?

Svävar bland molnen

Men väntar på storm

Allt är för underbart

Men jag

Vill inte ha nåt vackert

Jag vill ha nåt som är fult

För vackert har ett slut

Jag kunde dö just nu

Med dig här i min famn

Vi dansar livet ut

Alla sorger blir till sand

För om tiden rinner ut

Om det är över nu

Får jag ett lyckligt slut

Nej jag

Vill inte ha nåt vackert

Jag vill ha nåt som är fult

För vackert har ett slut

Jag kunde dö just nu

Med dig här i min famn

Vi dansar livet ut

Alla sorger blir till sand

För om tiden rinner ut

Finns det ett lyckligt slut

För nån som jag och du?

3. Lisa Miskovsky  – “Best to Come(Writers, David Lindgren Zacharias)

I won’t settle,

I won’t settle down

Not even if you’re telling me

I’ll be the chooser

Now or never,

now or never now

I’m leaving all you left behind

To light up the future

I would give it all I got

I will never run

Never hide

Never showing you, I cried

I’m not giving you a chance to say goodbye

It will always hurt

Not in vain

More like driving in the rain

But I still believe the best is still to come

It’s still to come

Please just hear me,

please just hear me out

I’m heading down the highway now

Through the snow and the gravel

You can say that I’m different

that I’ve changed into this

What is lost can be found

It’s just a matter of time,

please don’t leave me like this

I will never run

Never hide

Never showing you, I cried

I’m not giving you a chance to say goodbye

It will always hurt

Not in vain

More like driving in the rain

But I still believe the best is still to come

It’s still to come

I will never run

Never hide

Never showing you, I cried

I’m not giving you a chance to say goodbye

Cause you will always see the darkness ahead of you

let me light up the future

I’m not giving you a chance to say goodbye

It will always hurt

Not in vain

More like driving in the rain

But I still believe the best is still to come

And it’s still to come

4. Tribe Friday – “Shut Me Up (Writers: Isak Gunnarsson, Robin Hanberger Pérez, Noah Deutschmann)

It’s way past half-to-nine

But you don’t seem to mind,

Do you?

You’ve got your sugar lines

I couldn’t dare to try,

But you

You’re so loud-mouthed

I’m so far out

Is it alright?

‘Cause I just wanted to say

She shut me up!

I really tried to speak my mind,

But she shut me up

And I hope it’s not the last time

She shut me up

She shut me up,

We’re suddenly so silent,

But that’s alright

You play pretend but I

I think we’re past that line,

Don’t you?

Oh, don’t you?

I’ve got to head back soon

Unless you make your move right now

She said

“You’re so pretty”

Am I really?

And I tried to reply

She shut me up!

I really tried to speak my mind,

But she shut me up

And I hope it’s not the last time

She shut me up

She shut me up,

We’re suddenly so silent,

But that’s alright

“Meet me in an hour two hours away”,

They said

But she don’t want me leaving so—

She shut me up!

I really tried to speak my mind but,

She shut me up

And I hope it’s not the last time

She shut me up

She shut me up,

We’re suddenly so silent,

She shut me up!

She shut me up, up, up, up

We’re suddenly so silent,

But that’s alright

5. Faith Kakembo – “Freedom (Writers: Laurell Barker, Anderz Wrethov, Palle Hammarlund, Faith Kakembo)

I don’t see the love

I just see the wounds

I just feel the struggle here in me

Can’t it be enough

Just being a human

I hate the way we make each other bleed

I won’t give up

I’m not afraid

No my hope don’t stop believing

I can trust

Won’t suffocate

Know my heart’s gonna keep me breathing

Till I find

My

Freedom

Oh until I

Find

My

Freedom

I can see the life

Where everybody’s healed

Tell me how much trouble would that be?

Cuz I know you and I

We could write the sequel

We could turn nightmares into dreams

I won’t give up

I’m not afraid

No my hope don’t stop believing I can trust

Won’t suffocate

Know my heart’s gonna keep me breathing

Till I find

My

Freedom

Oh until I

Find

My

Freedom

I’m caught in a notion

I’m getting no peace

Proposing a motion

this world’s gotta see

Keep movin’ it forward

until you and me

Find

Find

Freedom

I won’t give up

I’m not afraid

No my hope don’t stop believing

I can trust

Won’t suffocate

Yeah my heart’s gonna keep me breathing

I won’t give up

I’m not afraid

No my hope don’t stop believing

I can trust

Won’t suffocate

Yeah my heart’s gonna keep me breathing

Till I find

My

Freedom

Oh until I

Find

My

Freedom

6. Linda Bengtzing – “Fyrfaldigt hurra! (Writers: Thomas G:son, Linda Bengtzing, Myra Granberg, Daniel Jelldéus)

Vet att jag inte är den bästa

Till och med värre än dom flesta

Men mina snedsteg gör mig ännu mera resolut

7. Anders Bagge – “Bigger Than The Universe (Writers: Anders Bagge, Jimmy Jansson, Peter Boström, Thomas G:son)

I’m sitting here

In my apple tree

There’s a guiding light shining down on me

I can see the dawning of my life

Bigger than the universe

Just take my hand

Put your trust in fate

Let us leave this world for a better place

A place where all the darkest days are gone

And everyone’s a champion

Hear, my heart is

beating like a symphony

And every word is poetry

We are, we are

Reaching for the stars like

satellites up in the sky

In a world of you and I

We are, we are

Bigger than the universe

As I’m sitting here

In my apple tree

There’s a rain of hope pouring down on me

I can see the sunrise of my soul

Bigger than the universe

Forever young

Join the ride with me

There’s an open road to eternity

We’re dancin’ on the edge,

we’re wild and free

Hear, my heart is

beating like a symphony

And every word is poetry

We are, we are

Reaching for the stars like

satellites up in the sky

In a world of you and I

We are, we are

Bigger than the universe

We are, we are

We are, we are

Bigger than the universe

We are, we are

We are, we are

We are bigger than the universe

We are, we are

We are, we are

Oh, bigger than the universe

We are, we are

We are, we are

Bigger than the universe

We are, we are

Australia: Listen to Sheldon Riley’s song, bidding to represent Australia at Eurovision 2022!

Sheldon Riley’s song with which he will compete at Australia Decides 2022, the Australian national final for Eurovision 2022, has just been released.

Its song title was already known it is “Not the Same” and you can listen to it below:

Who is Sheldon Riley

The son of an Aussie mother and a Filipino father, Riley amassed a following during his run on The Voice Australia in 2018, earning a spot in the final four. His distinct voice and style have even birthed a potentially new genre in music. And to think this well-defined character comes from someone who once came from a place of struggle, it will make you respect him more.

  • The X Factor Australia

He started his career as a contestant of ‘The X Factor Australia in 2016. Sadly, as his skills were not that refined, he failed to go far in the competition well, it didn’t break his will and aim to become a successful artist one day.

  • The Voice Australia

Sheldon Riley worked hard on his vocals and refined his singing. Finally, he made a banging comeback in “The Voice – Australia” in 2018 and was coached by Boy George. When he set free his true personality, people were either shocked or impressed. Unfortunately, he didn’t win the competition but he came in third place. He definitely left his mark though, making listeners his fans.

sheldon riley boy george

With his previous experiences, he worked on himself and competed again on “The Voice All Stars” 2019 season. Sadly, he got eliminated in the semifinals.

  • America’s Got Talent

In Episode 1507 of America’s Got Talent, Sheldon Riley’s sung Billie Eilish’s “idontwannabeyouanymore” which allowed him to be rewarded with the Judge Cuts. Truly speaking, his outfit seemed more intriguing than his performance. If you don’t know, he had draping black feathers and a beaded mask on. In the quarterfinals, he chose Kylie Minogue’s “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” when he failed to get enough votes required to advance to the Semifinals.

The Lithuanian representative announced that her performance in Turin will be completely different from her performance in the national final, Pabandom iš Naujo. Talking to LRT about her win she said:

I will change a lot during the show, just let me rest one night. You still have to be in the woods, take a walk, talk to people. Almost everything needs to be changed.

Eurovision is not (again this year) a simple song contest for Ukraine

This year’s participation of Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest, as in other years, has a political connotation. Not as clear as the Crimean Tatar Jamala, who won the 2016 contest singing the sufferings of her people and the persecution suffered by Stalin. However, it is clear enough to send the message inside Ukraine but also to the European public, especially in the countries with which it borders.

Alina Pash, who will represent Ukraine this year, is not just a petite rapper addressing the young audience. As it was not just a pop singer dressed as an Amazon warrior, the winner of Eurovision Ruslana, who then had an active involvement in the political life of her country, promoting the pro-Western wing of Ukraine. Of course, Jamala’s song was not just a melodic ballad – which is why it provoked so many reactions and protests from the apologists for the crimes of the USSR.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky himself comes from the show business, so he knows for a fact the influence it has on the general public, which is sometimes called an electorate. We also remember that he was elected president of a country of 40 million people, having previously starred in a very popular TV series, in which he played the president of the same country.

Zelensky tried – in the first two years of his term – to bridge the gap between the pro-Western majority and the pro-Russian minority, projecting the economic prosperity of the whole country as the main tool of this bridge, for example other countries like Belgium. At the same time ignoring those cultural differences that exist in different parts of Ukraine. Even differences in art and music, which are much more important than one unrelated can assume. For example, a musical instrument for Ukrainians is often not just a musical instrument. And so perhaps in 2020, shortly after Zelensky’s election, something unexpected happened: Kompza singer and organist Marina Krut, despite being a favorite, did not win the domestic competition and did not represent her country at Eurovision. To interpret this we must first refer to what the komba is.

The komba is one of the traditional Ukrainian musical instruments, it has 60 strings and in its traditional use it accompanied the telling of a story, often about the sufferings and adventures of Ukrainian folk heroes. Kombzar is the kompza organ player, the traditional folk troubadour of Ukraine. “Kombzar” is also the name of the main poetry collection of the Ukrainian national poet Taras Shevchenko, which is the “book” of the Ukrainian national consciousness. Every Ukrainian has read “Kombzar” at least once in his life.

Shevchenko himself had been persecuted by the tsarist regime for his “separatist” messages. The Kombzars, who – often former Cossack warriors, blind and ruthless – also roamed the villages of Ukraine, sang stories that reminded Ukrainians of their unique history. Separate from Russia. A story that the “official” Ukraine did not want to exaggerate in 2020.

This year something has changed, not to the extent of Jamala in 2016, but so that instead of the non-political participation in the two previous Eurovisions, Alina Pas appears. It is a representative of a very special region of Ukraine called the Transcarpathians. The picturesque Uzhhorod is more reminiscent of a city in Central Europe. Perhaps because it is geographically within walking distance of three EU countries (Slovakia, Hungary, Poland) and is inhabited by a mixture of ethnicities. All of her appearance, dress, grooming, and – most importantly – the dialect used by Alina Pas is the result of a mixture of all these peoples, which in addition to the Ukrainians includes more than 20 ethnicities, mainly Hungarians, Jews, Romanians, Slovaks, Russians, etc. And the multicultural coexistence of these peoples through their multifaceted involvement is possibly the message that Ukraine wants to send this year.

Armenia: Armenian media reports that Rosa Linn will represent them in Turin!

A couple of hours ago, it was revealed by Hraparak.am that Rosa Linn will represent Armenia at Eurovision Song Contest 2022 which will take place in Turin, Italy. According to reports, despite the fact that the favourites for the race were three names, the channel chose a newcomer for the competition. Based on the rumours, Saro Gevorgyan and Rosa Linn were in the final shortlist. Rosa Linn is the one who got selected and in fact the song and her name will be officially announced in about a month.

Who is Rosa Linn?

Rosa Linn (Rosa Kostanyan) is a 21 years old singer living and working in Vanadzor, whom the American “Flaunt” magazine called the top female music producer in Armenia. Her debut song is a collaboration with the famous singer Kiira. She is one of the first artists of  Nvak Collective, pronounced (“nuh-vaak”, which means music in Armenian) a US-based record label. Nvak Collective was Co-Founded by the representative of Armenia at Eurovision 2015, American-Armenian singer-songwriter, Tamar Kaprelian and record producer, Alex Salibian.  Her style is characterized as a mix of 80s and 90s alternative indie pop. Her latest single titled “King” counts over 200 thousand views on YouTube and is a representative sample of the sound she stands for.

It should be reminded that “Eurovision” will take place in Turin, Italy, on May 10, 12 and 14. The representative of Armenia will perform in the second half of the first semifinal.

Last year, Armenia did not participate in the contest due to the post-war situation, lack of time and other objective reasons, and in 2020 the Greek-Armenian singer Athena Manukyan was our country’s delegate, but the contest was canceled due to the coronavirus.

Ukraine: Alina Pash’s participation in danger!

Two days after Ukraine’s choice via Vidbir to send Alina Pash and “Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors“, tensions have risen even more after Kalush Orchestra’s complaint yesterday with Alina’s participation reminding us of Maruv and her participation in Turin looking pretty uncertain at the moment.

Ukraine’s public broadcaster, Suspilne published the following article:

The public broadcaster applies to the SBGS (State Border Guard Service) to check the certificate provided by Alina’s team.

In connection with the information received from citizens about the possible forgery of the certificate of crossing the state border with Crimea by Alina Pash, the Public Broadcaster appeals to the SBGS and asks to confirm or deny the fact of forgery of a civil service document.

The public will not sign an agreement on participation in the international Eurovision Song Contest with the winner of the National Selection until the verification and clarification of the facts is completed.

It has to be recalled that the public has already applied to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, but was denied information about crossing the border by the participant, as this information is confidential. The participant’s team provided a certificate, allegedly received by her, which became the basis for the participation of Alina Pash in the National Selection.

You can see Alina’s winning performance below:
