BREAKING NEWS : Victor Vernicos’ entry “What They Say” leaked!

The thriller with the Greek representation in Eurovision 2023 continues after the leak of Shout Out by Antonia Kaouris and Maria Maragou, a while ago Victor Vernicos’ What They Say was leaked on Twitter.

It’s about 25 seconds of the song but pretty messed up and not in the best possible quality. It is worth mentioning that the user who uploaded it on Twitter also leaked the demo of Die Together, Amanda’s song, last year.

We remind you that ERT did not cancel Shout Out because of the leak and is expected to do the same now. Any leak at this time is not a breach of EBU regulations.

ERT continues normally with these three songs the process of selecting the Greek participation for Eurovision 2023, with the aim that very soon there will be official announcements about the artist and the song that will represent us in Liverpool.

We remind you that the three songs that precede the combined voting of the public committee and the artistic committee of ERT are the following:

  • Melissa Mantzoukis – Liar
  • Victor Vernicos – What They Say
  • Antonia Kaouris and Maria Maragou – Shout Out

Greece: Shout out is not disqualified despite being leaked!

One of the three remaining competing songs for Greece this year has been leaked on social media and based on our greek websites, the song will not be disqualified from the selection.

Based on our research, ERT decided not to disqualify “Shout out” at the moment, based on the fact that it does not violates any of the EBU rules.

Last year, Die Together has also been leaked-as a demo- a month earlier than expected, and many other songs from these year’s national finals. This situation is usual and cannot be dealt with.

ERT continues the process with the three remaining songs and ,by the end of the month, there will be official announcements about the artist and the song that will represent Greece at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

The three songs that are still in the selection are:

Melissa Mantzoukis – Liar

Victor Vernicos – What They Say

Αντωνία Καούρη & Μαρία Μαραγκού – Shout Out

You can vote in our poll to share your opinion of “Shout Out”:

The previous days artists and their teams met up with the Greek Jury to discuss their  detailing proposal for Eurovision (VideoClip, Promotion, Staging etc). That’s the exact process that took place last year also. Next up, the jury will give their final vote, just like the Audiance jury, and the song and artist will be selected for Eurovision 2023! The announcement will probably happen in January.

Greece: ”Shout Out” of Antonia Kaouri & Maria Maragou leaked!

One of the three candidate songs that are in ERT’s shortlist for the Greek representation for Eurovision 2023, leaked on Twitter a few hours earlier.

The song by Antonia Kaouri and Maria Maragou was initially leaked on Twitter and is now also available on YouTube. Many of the members of the audience committee who have heard the songs have confirmed that this is one of the songs that they heard during the voting.

The user who leaked it on Twitter claims to be from Sweden and has contacts with the song’s composers. We remind you that the song is signed by creators from Sweden.

We await with interest whether this leak will affect the participation of the two women in the final selection phase of the Greek participation.

It’s the final countdown: One of them will represent Greece at Eurovision 2023!

Female, male or duet will be the Greek representative at Eurovision 2023. All options remain on the table, but only three specific artists, or rather four – since we also have a duet among the final shortlist, continue to hope and dream that they will lift the Greek flag in Liverpool.

Through the ERT1 show, Proian Se Eidon Tin Mesimvrian, Fotis Sergoulopoulos and Jenny Melita announced the three artists who have stood out from the combined voting of the audience committee and the artistic committee. So they are in alphabetical order:

Antonia Kaouri & Maria Maragou – Shout Out (uptempo pop/rock)
Melissa Mantzoukis – Liar (pop dance)
Victor Vernicos – What They Say (midtempo festival ballad)

The artistic committee of ERT, after completing the meetings with the above artists and their groups, in order to get to know them in person, but also to be informed about their plans for the stage presentation, the video clip and the promotion of their song abroad, will give their final score, which combined with the vote of the audience committee will determine the artist who will represent Greece in the 67th Eurovision Song Contest.

The final announcement is expected next week!

Greece: ERT announces its representative for Liverpool in the coming days!

ERT is now in the final stretch for the selection of the artist and the song that will represent Greece at the 67th Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place next May in Liverpool, United Kingdom.

After the vote of the Public Jury, the Christmas break, the time has come for the big decision.

Based on what ERT followed last year, the meetings of the artists and their teams, with the artistic committee and the management of the Greek public television, are now expected, so that the final selection can then be made. In these meetings, the artists gets to know the people of ERT for the first time, while their teams present any plans they have for the stage appearance, promotion abroad, etc.

We remind you that the Greek representative this year will be chose through a 70-member Audience Committee that will determine 50.6% of the verdict, with the remaining 49.4% belonging to the Artistic Committee.

As revealed by Eurovisionfun and subsequently reproduced by all the country’s media, the ranking of the Audience Committee was as follows:

1. Melissa Mantzoukis – Liar

……
2.Victor Vernicos – What They Say

…….

3. Klavdia – Holy Water
4. Leon of Athens – Somewhere to Go

…….

5/6. Monika – I’m Proud/ Antonia Kaouri & Maria Maragou – Shout Out
7. Konstantina Iosifidou – We are Young

Similar results to those of the Audience Committee were also given by our readers, where with more than 2,000 different votes, they have approximately the same ranking in their preferences. You can see the results of our Poll HERE.

The fluid political scene and the upcoming national elections with all that this entails for the extra workload of ERT, was also the reason for the slight delay in the announcement of the Greek representative, since according to the original plan this was expected in mid-January and not at the end of it, as it will eventually be.

Greece: These are detailed results of Audience jury!EXCLUSIVE

At Wednesday 28/12, the 70 members of the Audience Jury heard for the first time the 7 candidate songs of ERT for Eurovision 2023. In a well-organized process by all accounts, we also have a first fairly reliable picture of the voting results. Eurovisionfun having contacted at least 50 of the committee members, but also from social media posts, related forums and groups dealing with the Eurovision contest, we are able to reveal to you the detailed results of the voting and some more content also.

First on the voting is Melissa Mantzoukis with the song “Liar”

The first thing that can be easily concluded, is that Melissa Mantzoukis with her pop- dance song “Liar” won over the the audience. Based on our reportage, Victor Vernicos came second with his emotional and powerful ballad called “What they say” and Klavdia is third with “Holy Water”, a melodic powerful ballad.

Very close to the third, Leon of Athens managed to be in the middle of the ranking with his 80s radio-pop “Somewhere to go”.

The three remaing songs, didn’t conviced the audiance jury that much as it may seen. In the last place is “We are young”, the pop-rock ballad by Konstantina Iosifidou, and then we have a very tight result between the 5th and the 6th place. As it may seem, “I’m Proud” by Monika, a mid tempo song, and the pop-rock uptempo “Shout Out” are very close to each other that we can not make any final conclusions yet.

So, what now for Greece?

In the next days, the artists with their teams will have a private meeting with ERT jury so as to discuss their detailing proposal for Eurovision (VideoClip, Promotion, Staging etc). That’s the exact process that took place last year also. Next up, the jury will give their final vote, just like the Audiance jury, and the song and artist will be selected for Eurovision 2023! The announcement will probably happen in January.

We would like to wish all 7 (+1, as we have a duet) artists good luck! May the best song win and he, she or they bring us the best result in Liverpool!

Congratulations to each and every one the artists who continue to hope for the Greek representation, and to all those who submitted entries but weren’t chosen to be in the shortlist.

Greece: These are the results of the vote of the Audience Jury!

Yesterday, Wednesday 28/12, the 70 members of the Audience Jury heard for the first time the 7 candidate songs of ERT for Eurovision 2023. In a well-organized process by all accounts, we also have a first fairly reliable picture of the voting results. Eurovisionfun having contacted many of the committee members, but also from social media posts, related forums and groups dealing with the Eurovision contest, we are able to reveal to you the results of the voting.

So, based on all the above, the three songs that are leading in the Audience Jury’s rating are the following:

  • Melissa Mantzoukis – Liar
  • Klavdia – Holy Water
  • Victor Vernicos – What they say

We may not know the exact order of the above three songs, but without any doubt they are the three songs that the Audience Committee singled out and were first in their preferences.

On the other hand, the three songs that seem to be in the last three places of preference of the Audience Committee are the following:

  • Monika – I’m Proud
  • Konstantina Iosifidou – We’re young
  • Antonia Kaouri & Maria Maragou – Shout out

Right in the middle of the preferences, it seems, is the participation of Leon of Athens – Somewhere to go.

Similar results to those of the Audience Committee were also given by our readers, where with more than 2,000 different votes, they have approximately the same ranking in their preferences. You can see the results of our Poll HERE.

We remind you that the vote of the Audience Jury constitutes 50.6% of the final result, with 49.4% determined by the seven-member jury of ERT.

Immediately after the New Year, the artists and their groups will meet the artistic committee and the management of ERT in separate appointments, in order to present their plans for the stage appearance, the promotion of the song, etc., if they are selected. The artistic committee will then give their own score, where combined with the score of the Audience Committee, they will determine the artist and the song that will represent Greece in Liverpool. The announcement is expected by mid-January.
