Italy: The Mayor of Turin reviews the preparations of the Eurovision Song Contest tomorrow

Tomorrow, January 10, 2022, Stefano Lo Russo, Mayor of Turin, will meet with Culture Advisor Rosanna Purchia and Tourism and Event Advisor Mimmo Carretta to review the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

According to the newspaper “La Stampa“, the summit will also discuss adjustments to the preparation of the event due to Covid-19. As long as the competition is going to take place, the organization of all side events must necessarily adjust according to the state of the pandemic.

According to the Turin newspaper, the event is going on and sponsorship problems would be resolved in order to meet in the best possible way the expectations of the financial categories of Turin. There should also be no problems in the production of the event, which will be attended by local companies and professionals. All those working on the Eurovision Song Contest hope that the infections will reach a peak in the coming weeks and that the increase in vaccination coverage will allow for a reduction of the measures.

The semifinal allocation draw is going to take place on January 25. The handover ceremony between Rotterdam and Turin will also take place during this ceremony. The event, to be held at the Palazzo Madama, is expected to be attended by about 100 people, including a delegation from the Netherlands, led by Rotterdam Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb, RAI and EBU leaders. A revision of the framework program is likely in the light of the evolution of infections in Italy and the rest of Europe.

We remind you that the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 is going to take place on May 10, 12 and 14 at the PalaOlimpico in Turin.

Italy: Gianni Morandi remains in Sanremo 2022 after accidentally publishing his competing song

The Italian broadcaster (RAI) has announced that Gianni Morandi will still compete in Sanremo 2022 after he accidentally published his competing song.

Gianni Morandi published the song accidentally through Facebook yesterday, facing potential disqualification from Sanremo. Publishing the song onto social media, the chorus of his song “Apri tutte le porte” could be heard within the video, remaining online for about 15 minutes. The rules of Sanremo 2022 state that songs should not be released ahead of their performance in the contest, if the song is released, it will lead to disqualification.

RAI released a statement saying:

“Regarding the involuntary dissemination of the piece by Gianni Morandi, competing at the 72nd Sanremo Song Festival, the Artistic Direction in agreement with Rai1 does not believe it should exclude the aforementioned song because it was a pure technical problem, due to the need to Morandi to wear a brace on his right hand which has undergone several operations following the accident that occurred a few months ago. seeing privately.

Morandi never resorted to social media managers to manage his Facebook profile and therefore committed the aforementioned technical error.
The song and the artist Morandi, therefore, remain in the competition.

Sanremo 2022 is expected to take place from the 1st to the 5th of February. Where the winner of Sanremo 2022 is given the opportunity to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

Eurovision 2022: Semi Final Allocation Draw to take place on January 25!

One of the most important dates of the 66th Eurovision Song Contest was revealed a few hours ago, as the draw for the Eurovision 2022 semi-finals will take place on January 25th.

As revealed by the Montenegrin state radio, RTCG, in the context of the announcement of Vladana Vučinić as the representative of the Balkan country in Turin, the draw of the semi-finals will take place in exactly three weeks from today.

During the ceremony, the emblem of the event will be handed over from the city of Rotterdam to the Mayor of Turin. The draw will take place either at the Mole Antonelliana, the tallest building in Turin, or at the Palazzo Madama, which housed the first Senate of the Italian Kingdom.

The draw

The first part of the draw will determine the semi-final that will be broadcasted and voted by each of the five countries that are directly in the final (Italy, France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom).

The second part of the draw will determine in which semi-final and in which half the other 36 participating countries will compete. As in recent years, the exact order of appearance will be determined by the producers of the event at a later time.

The 36 countries will be distributed in five or six pots, based on historical voting patterns as calculated by the official television partner Digame. This separation is done in order to avoid the gathering of many neighboring countries in a semifinal that would significantly affect the final result.

We remind you that Eurovision 2022 will be held on May 10, 12 and 14 at the PalaOlimpico in the capital of Piedmont. Thus, Turin will become the third city in Italy where the Eurovision Song Contest will be held. The previous two were Naples in 1965 and Rome in 1991.

We remind you that the 66th Eurovision Song Contest will take place at the Pala Alpitour in Turin, on 10, 12 and 14 May 2022, with 41 participating countries.Stay tuned to Eurovisionfun for all the news related to the 66th Eurovision Song Contest!

Eurovision 2022: Two scenarios are being considered for Turin!

An important revelation in view of Eurovision 2022 was made by the Executive Supervisor of our favorite competition, Martin Österdahl. Speaking on the sidelines of Junior Eurovision 2021 on the OGAE Sweden channel, Österdahl revealed that there are two scenarios on the table in view of the 66th Eurovision Song Contest.

Occasioned by the second Junior Eurovision since the outbreak of the pandemic, the Swedish Executive Producer of Eurovision Song Contest answered about the differences between Warsaw 2020 and Paris 2021:

There were definitely differences. Every year has its challenges, as we say with my team. In Warsaw, last year, we were fortunate that TVP had hosted the 2019 competition and had the necessary experience to host an event like that. Also, the pandemic was at a much earlier stage than now. It was different than this year. Today we know more about the pandemic, but we saw that three or four weeks ago we had the appearance of the Omicron variant that caused a lot of concern to all of us. The point is, when it comes to producing live TV shows, you have to be prepared for the worst and have an alternative scenario ready. But the pandemic complicates the situation.

Scenarios

Asked about the four scenarios that were used for Rotterdam 2021 and whether they would be kept in view of Turin 2022, Martin Österdahl replied:

We have more or less the same mindset that we are still in the middle of the pandemic. We have to prepare in the same way for the competition here in Paris but also for the Eurovision in the spring in Turin. Hopefully, we do not have to continue working with four different scenarios for Turin, as we did for a long time in Rotterdam. Maybe two is the realistic development for Turin. We hope that as the temperature rises, the pandemic will be less complicated.

Live-On-Tape

At the same time, the Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest explained the EBU’s decision to maintain the use of live-on-tape as an alternative in case something goes wrong:

We have now seen how the new variant affected travel instructions and led to the application of new restrictions. We can not take the risk of this happening again. It is a huge production. There are 41 countries that are going to participate in Eurovision Song Contest in the spring. It is a huge investment on the part of RAI, the organizers of the competition. We must ensure that there is a competition and live-on-tape is the last guarantee that we will have a competition.
With the Omicron mutation spreading rapidly across the length and breadth of the Old Continent, Martin Österdahl’s responses give us a first taste of the EBU and RAI plans for Turin. In any case, the evolution of the pandemic is so unpredictable that any prediction of how Eurovision 2022 will be conducted is risky.

We remind you that the 66th Eurovision Song Contest will take place at the Pala Alpitour in Turin, on 10, 12 and 14 May 2022, with 41 participating countries.Stay tuned to Eurovisionfun for all the news related to the 66th Eurovision Song Contest!

The Italian newspaper, La Stampa, reports that the country’s singer and superstar, Laura Pausini, is among the candidates for the presentation of the 66th Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place next May in Turin.

La Stampa reports that Laura Pausini has already been hit by RAI over the above possibility. Laura first appeared on the music scene in 1993 when she won the Young Artists category at the Sanremo Festival, with the now legendary “La solitudine”. This song was the springboard for her later career, as it brought her to the charts of almost all European countries.

Since then she has released fourteen studio albums, toured around the world, coached talent shows in Italy and Spain, and starred in an Amazon film.

Rai1 director Stefano Coletta confirmed in an interview with ANSA that the hosts of Eurovision 2022 will not be revealed until after the end of Sanremo 2022 which will take place between 1 and 5 February.

Turin will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 on 10, 12 and 14 May 2022. The venue of the 2022 contest is PalaOlimpico. The arena opened in 2005 and has hosted many concerts and sporting events, including ice hockey tournaments during the 2006 Winter Olympics.

Italy: Sanremo 2022 contestants will be revealed starting today

Today Amadeus will start revealing the names of the twenty-two artists that will compete in the Festival di Sanremo 2022.  This is one of the rule changes that will take place this year.  Previously, it was not until December 15 when the names were revealed during the final of Sanremo Giovani.

Accordingly, we will get to know the names of the contestants one at the time over the next two weeks, starting from today.  Nevertheless, all the artists will perform at the Sanremo Giovani as before.

The Festival della canzone italiana di Sanremo 2022 will take place from February 1 to February 5.  RAI revealed in June during a press conference that the Sanremo hosts will not host the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

Are you excited to know the names of the Sanremo contestants? Stay tuned for more news about the Italian national selection for Eurovision 2022!

Among the people whose participation is now considered almost certain is Elisa. Her participation is very important, as it will pave the way for other superstars in the country to participate in the future.

Another impressive comeback could be that of Emma, ten years after her victory she returns, aiming for victory this time as well.

But they are not the only former winners to return, at least according to current rumors. Mahmood, Fabrizio Moro and Marco Masini, both former winners, take the competition to new heights!

If you think that we got rid of the eurostars here, you are just wrong! The list also includes Gianni Morandi, also a winner of the Sanremo Festival and Italy’s representative at Eurovision 1970, occupying eighth place.

The announcement of the final cast will be made as we told you above, on the sidelines of the final of Sanremo Giovani, which is scheduled for December 15 in prime time at Rai Uno.

Sanremo 2022 will be held at the Teatro Ariston in the small Ligurian town of Sanremo, from 1 to 5 February. The winner will also have the opportunity (if he so wishes) to represent Italy in the 66th Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place a few kilometers away, in May in Turin.
