The competition part

Sweden

Another professional performance by Marcus & Martinus. They are superstars and we can all tell! I can see a top ten coming for Sweden.

Ukraine

A touching performance by Jerry Heil and Alyona Alyona. They are contenders to win the contest and every performance of them is magical.

Germany

Amazing vocals and a fiery performance, but they are not enough. The song feels bland.

Luxembourg

A great comeback for Luxembourg. Tali looks and sounds amazing. We hope all the best for the Duchy!

Israel

Another touching performance by Eden. This is how a ballad can be performed in a modern way. Eden is not separated by her dancers, they are all a part of the same “symphony”.

Lithuania

Love the performance. No one in the audience can stay still when Silvester performs and his energy is haunting.

Spain

The crowd goes crazy for “ZORRA”. The fans love it and every performance is stunning.

Estonia

Not a fan of this entry but the crowd also loves it.

Ireland

Bambie did not take the stage today as an incident happened. Another performance of Bambie was played instead.

Latvia

Another good performance by Dons, no changes in this rehearsal.

Greece

Marina sounded and looked great today. Despite having a cold, her vocals were on point.

United Kingdom

Olly gave a great performance and despite a minor mistake in the shots, this looked great.

Norway

Gåte never fail to deliver a great performance, and so they did during this rehearsal. Big applause at the Arena!

Italy

Angelina and her dancers are wearing the black outfits and honestly this looks great. Bravo Italia!

Serbia

Vocally on point, Teya gave another great performance.

Finland

This entry might not be everyone’s cup of tea but the crowd in the arena seems to love it!

Portugal

Minimalistic perfection. Great vocals by Iolanda and an applause at the Press Centre!

Armenia

Such a catchy entry. Audience was singing along! Armenia bringing the great vibes that we need.

Cyprus

Only 17 years old and such a class act. Silia gave -another- great performance!

Switzerland

Nemo is just incredible. This performance is just breathtaking. Definitely a contender for the victory.

Slovenia

A solid performance by Raiven. Vocally on point.

Croatia

In every single performance, Baby Lasagna nailed it. Is this the Eurovision 2024 winner? We will find out tonight!

Georgia

Vocals? On point. Visuals? On point. Georgia is deservingly back in the Grand Final.

France

In the middle of the performance, Slimane stopped singing and gave a message of peace and unity. Big applause at the Press Centre.

Austria

Kaleen sounded and looked great. A great entry to close the Grand Final.

Interval Acts

Abba appeared via holograms leading to Charlotte Perrelli, Carola and Conchita singing “Waterloo”!

The results

These results are neither valid nor real, but they come about in order to serve the rehearsal’s purposes, but the winner was Estonia.

Breaking News | The Netherlands has been disqualified from Eurovision 2024!

Joost Klein, the representative from The Netherlands for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, has been suspended from participating in the event. The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has investigated an incident involving Klein. This incident initially led to Klein missing his slot in the show’s penultimate dress rehearsal in Malmo, Sweden.

An official statement by the EBU follows:

The Dutch artist Joost Klein will not be competing in the Grand Final of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

Swedish police have investigated a complaint made by a female member of the production crew after an incident following his performance in Thursday night’s Semi Final. While the legal process takes its course, it would not be appropriate for him to continue in the Contest.

We would like to make it clear that, contrary to some media reports and social media speculation, this incident did not involve any other performer or delegation member.

We maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards inappropriate behaviour at our event and are committed to providing a safe and secure working environment for all staff at the Contest. In light of this, Joost Klein’s behaviour towards a team member is deemed in breach of Contest rules.

The Grand Final of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest will now proceed with 25 participating songs.

Will be added as soon as it becomes available

Netherlands: Joost Klein questioned by Swedish police after complaint from SVT employee!

Today is the night of the final and it is still unclear what the EBU will decide regarding the Netherlands’ participation in the Grand Final.  According to Dutch public television, Joost Klein was questioned by the police, following a complaint by an employee of SVT.

According to the police report, Joost Klein threatened her, during the first dress rehearsal, on Friday, May 11.

Police say Joost Klein was questioned late last night. The woman who filed the complaint was also questioned. The case has now been handed over to the prosecutor. The case can take weeks to settle.

Therefore, we can not predict what will be the final decision regarding the Netherlands’ participation in tonight’s Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest. The managing director of Dutch public television has arrived in Malmö and is in talks with the EBU to decide what will eventually happen with their participation.

We remind you that yesterday, Joost Klein was not able to perform his song for the jury because of the ongoing investigation by the EBU.  Instead, the video of his performance from the Semi-final was shown.  By the time this article was written a final decision has not been made.  The online voting for the rest of the world has not started as a consequence.

We will keep you informed once we get the final outcome of this case and the official announcements from the EBU.

The top five is completed with the Netherlands, Ireland and France. Greece was in 11th place, while Cyprus in 19th place.

Of course, the positions of Spain (6th place) and Austria (7th place) are a surprise, while in the last place (26th) was Raiven from Slovenia.

For the record, the Audience Poll, for the Grand Final of Eurovision 2023, predicted six of the ten countries that eneded up in the first ten places, but failed to predict the winner.

The Netherlands: Joost Klein will not perform during Grand Final’s Jury Show!

Earlier this day and during the First Dress Rehearsal, Joost Klein did not take the stage for everyone’s surprise. While Joost Klein appeared during the flag parade, he did not show up for his performance and the Dress Rehearsal continued as normal.

The reason given by EBU mentioned a backstage incident, while the causes and the consequences of Joost’s denial for appearing at Dress Rehearsals is still unknown.

A few moments ago, EBU gave us the accredited press an official statement on what will happen tonight:

The investigation into the incident with the Dutch artist in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest is still ongoing.
Discussions are also taking place between the EBU and AVROTROS, the Dutch participating broadcaster.
While the investigation continues the EBU has decided that Joost Klein will not perform during Dress Rehearsal 2 of the competition which is voted on by juries in the 37 participating countries.
His performance from Semi Final 2 will be used instead.

According to information to SVT, a physical confrontation has occurred between the artist and a photographer and this is what led to Joost’s denial in performing today.

Joost Klein is the Dutch representative in Eurovision 2024 with his entry “Europapa“. Joost received one of the ten tickets to the Grand Final and is supposed to perform fifth.

We are waiting for more information on this issue!
