American Song Contest: The premiere of the competition has been postponed to March 21!

The American television network NBC changed its program in the middle of the season, pushing back the premiere of the American Eurovision song contest in a month, from the previously announced Monday, February 21 (8-10 pm) on March 21. The show America’s Got Talent: Extreme, which made headlines last fall when a contestant was badly hurt in an on-set accident.

According to sources, the decision to delay the American Song Contest is made due to concerns about Covid-19 concerns amid the current Omicron surge as the series consists of live shows whose logistics could be difficult in the current wave of rampant infections nationwide.

The new date for the final of the first American Song Contest  seems to be on Monday May 9th, after the semifinals that will last eight weeks.

Behind the American Song Contest are American and Swedish producers – including, as we know, Christer Björkman, who successfully produced Melodifestivalen in Sweden for a long time until 2021. Entries from all the 50 States, Washington D.C., and the 5 Territories will be allocated into three qualifying rounds. The qualifiers will then proceed into the semi-finals and lastly those who will manage to get into the Grand Final will have to compete for the people’s vote to be crowned as the “Best Original Song” of America.

‘American Song Contest’ is executive produced by Audrey Morrissey, Anders Lenhoff, Christer Björkman, Peter Settman, Ola Melzig, and Gregory Lipstone alongside Propagate’s Ben Silverman and Howard T. Owens.

The series is produced by Propagate in association with Universal Television Alternative Studio, a division of Universal Studio Group.

Norway: Interview with Lily Löwe from Melodi Grand Prix 2022! (Video)

After the announcement of her participation in this year’s national final of Norway, Melodi Grand Prix 2022, Lily Löwe talks exclusively to EurovisionFun and Stella Gialetzi.

Lily Löwe is very happy with with the reception her song receives from the public, as this song is her debut in the Norway’s national final, MGP 2022!

“Bad Baby” is about the awareness, regarding who someone is in real life, in contrast to how good of a person we thought he is. When we wrote the song, we realized that it can be an “earworm” to whoever listens to it.

Talking about her stage appearance in the semifinal, she said that there will be a prime presence of fire, however something will happen that she foresees the public will like, and she is really excited about it.

I will have my band with me on stage. All three of them are really good and we’ll have the time of our lives. I feel really lucky and blessed that they will be with me.

From the other competing songs, the one she stands out, is that of Steffen Jakobsen, a country song that happens to be with her on yhe same semi-final. Her favorite Norwegian participation in the contest is Alexander Rybak (2009) while from the contest in general she likes Måneskin  (Italy 2021), Conchita Wurst (Austria 2014) and Lordi (Finland 2006)

I wish that in future contests, there will be more rock songs by womem.

Just before the end of the interview, Lily Löwe offered a part of her song, acapella.

Watch the whole interview Lily Löwe, in the following video:
