Eurovision 2024: Azerbaijan’s Second Rehearsal!

Next on the stage of Eurovision 2024 in Malmö for their second rehearsal is Azerbaijan which is represented by Fahree feat. Ilkin Dovlatov and their song “Özünlə apar”.

Who are Fahree and Ilkin Dovlatov?

Fahree, full name Fakhri Ismayilov, was born on 11th of April 1995 in Baku and is an Azeri singer and songwriter. He was raised in an artistic family, his father being a jazz drummer and his grandfather being an actor. He has both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in law. At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, he devoted himself more to music and pursued his childhood dream of becoming a musician

Ilkin Dovlatov born on 16th June 1990 is is an Azeri mugham singer. He was raised in a musical family, his father being a major inspiration for him to start pursuing a musical career. At the age of four, Dovlatov performed his first song “Qəlbimdə qaldı”. During his school years, a music teacher discovered Dovlatov’s talent in singing and encouraged him to perform his music. He rose to prominence after finishing second in The Voice of Azerbaijan in 2023.

The Rehearsal

FAHREE’s outfit is black and silver and gives off an armoured vibe, and Ilkin is in black with sparkly sleeves. For most of the song FAHREE is alone in the centre of the stage, backed my monochrome graphics that show an animated figure slowly emerging from water.

In the second half two huge cupped hands appear on the stage so FAHREE can sing the final verse and chorus standing between them.This is a really difficult performance to describe in words, because it’s less about the individual staging elements and more about the powerful atmosphere they create together – a combination of shadowy lighting, graphics, contrasting vocals and FAHREE’s expressive body movements.

The Dress Rehearsal for Azerbaijan and the rest of Semi Final 1 will be held on the 6th of May.

Eurovision 2023: Azerbaijan’s Second Rehearsal!

Next act to get on the stage in M&S Arena are TuralTuranX, representing Azerbaijan, with their song “Tell Me More”.

Who are TuralTuranX?

TuralTuranX are a sibling male duo named Tural and Turan. The two brothers are 22 years old and they are descibed as street musicians from Zaqatala. When they saw for their first time a piano in school, they were so bascinated by it that they secretly wrote songs on it. Then their father bought them a used sunthesizer. They also learned how to play the guitar. TuralTuranX first appeared in schools and some events, however, after the death of their father, they temporarily stopped music.

The choice of participation was made from the National Broadcaster among five artists who competed with songs created by composers orifonating only from Azerbaijan.

The Rehearsal

Unfortunately this year, accredited journalists don’t get the chance to watch the first and second rehearsals, so we only get the information and content that the organizers officially release to the public.

As we know, Tural and Turan are standing on a heart-shaped podium centre stage. The duet wears matching green and purple suits. This combination sets a perfect harmony for this staging. There’s also a colour fade from black and white to colour, it’s a really nice effect at the beginning of the song. During the song, the duet shares the screen with the split screen effect.

Eurovision 2022: Azerbaijan’s Second Rehearsal!

The next artist that sets foot on the Eurovision 2022 stage for his second rehearsal is Nadir Rustamli, representing Azerbaijan with the emotional ballad “Fade To Black“.

Everything about Nadir Rustamli:

Nadir is 22 years old, born on July 8, 1999 in the Salyan area. Graduated from Azerbaijan University of Tourism Management. Although he has been working professionally with music for 4 years, he has been working in this field for 7 years. Apart from singing, he composes, plays the piano and guitar, but is also involved in sports.

She has participated in many domestic competitions, such as the National Student Spring 2019 song contest (first place) and the YouthVision 2019 international song contest (second place). In addition, he is the winner of this year’s “Voice of Azerbaijan”.

The Second Rehearsal

Nadir starts singing his song in a a prop that looks like a big staircase. Then you see that there’s also another person in that staircase that is doing the exact same movements with the singer, very Azerbaijan 2013. Towards the end of the song the staircase is divided in two and the dancer is dancing very intense. Nadir in awesome vocally and the whole vibe of perfomance is very dramatic. The camera angles are very tight and on point.

His second and third run were also very good with no changes.

A perfomance that juries will probably support!
