Austria: Conchita Wurst will not submit a song for Eurovision 2024!

Austria: The selection process for Eurovision 2024 begins! | Conchita Wurst among interested artists?

The search for the next representative for Eurovision 2024 has officially begun for Austria, with a former winner of the contest reacting to the call for artists!

Austria’s selection process has begun for Eurovision 2024, with experts looking for artists to potentially represent the country in Sweden. Peter Schreiber, working with ORF in the search for a representative, posted on his instagram a few days ago, aiming to encourage artists to participate in the selection.

Among those who responded to Peter Schreiber’s invitation was Conchita Wurst, winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The singer reacted to the post and even commented that she will send a message to Peter Schreiber. However, it is still too early to know whether Conchita is really interested in returning to the contest.

In recent years, the internal selections of ORF, brought Austria a variety of results, icluding the win of Conchita Wurst back in 2014:

2017 – Nathan Trent – “Running On Air” – 16th place in the final

2018 – Cesar Sampson – “Nobody But You” – 3rd place in the final

2019 – PÆNDA – “Limits” – 17th place in the semi-final

2021 – Vincent Bueno – “Amen” – 12th place in the semi-final

2022 – LUM!X ft. Pia Maria –“Halo” – 15th place in the semi-final

2023 – Teya & Salena – “Who The Hell Is Edgar?” – 15th place in the final

Teya & Salena represented Austria at Eurovision 2023 with the song “Who The Hell is Edgar” and finished 15th in the Grand Final, bringing their country to the Final after three consecutive non-qualifications:

Yesterday, the 17th of November, the concert Het Grote Songfestivalfeest took place three years after the last concert, which was back in 2019, at Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Spain: Watch all the live performances of the artists at the Barcelona Eurovision Party 2022!

Last night the first Eurovision Party took place successfully at the Sala Apolo in Barcelona. More than 18 eurostars attended the Barcelona Eurovision Party 2022. It was the first Eurovision event on Spanish soil, not forgetting that in a few days the PrePartyES will also take place in Madrid.

The hosts of the event were Sharone and Giuseppe di Bella!

Germany: Malik Harris will represent the Big 5 country in Eurovision!

The German national selection for Eurovision 2022 took place in March 4.  German broadcaster ARD returned to a national selection for Eurovision after two years.  Six acts competed in Germany 12 pointsIn the end it was Malik Harris who won the competition and will represent Germany in Turin.

The national final started at 21.00 CET.  Eurovision winners Conchita Wurst, Jane Comerford and Jamala performed during the final.  A combined radio voting and televote decided the winner.

The Contestants

The six candidates competing in Germany 12 points were:

  1. Malik Harris – “Rockstars
  2. Maël & Jonas – “I Swear To God
  3. Eros Atomus – “Alive
  4. Emily Roberts – “Soap
  5. Felicia Lu – “Anxiety
  6. Nico Suave & Team Liebe – “Hallo Welt

During their performances, Malik Harris and Eros Atomus expressed support for Ukraine.

The results are based 100% on the vote of the public.  Since February 28, listeners of the 9 ARD radio stations voted for their favorite song online.  TV viewers voted during the show.  The vote of the radio listeners and tv viewers represented 50% of the final result each.
