Denmark: Reiley goes for a different staging in Liverpool!

Reiley, who is only 25 years old, is this year’s representative of Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool, since he has already won the first prize at Dansk Melodi Grand Prix. In addition, he managed to receive 43% of the vote in the superfinal.

However, Reiley, being an interviewee at Melfest WKND, which is the pre-party of Melodifestivalen, told eurovoix.com that his staging in Liverpool “won’t be similar at all” to what audience has already seen in Dansk Melodi Grand Prix. Nevertheless, no matter the fact that Reiley’s staging will be completely different, his own unique artistic identity will still be present on stage. Check out his interview:

Keep in mind that Reiley is Denmark’s first ever representative who comes from the Faroe Islands and his song “Breaking My Heart”, which is on the first half of the second semi-final on May 11th, has been co-created by him as well.

Joker Out: We will have a lot of interaction with the crowd!

Joker Out gave an interview to EurovisionFun’s Paschalis about their participation in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Carpe Diem“. Kris, Jan, Jure and Nace were with us.

Some things about the song:

We recorded the song in Hamburg in December. The lyrics are telling what happened there. We stayed all night in the studio and just created the song. We did that to avoid all of the negative energy. We tell the people to play the game of hate for themselves, we are just dancing and singing.

The song was written for Eurovision, but we didn’t have in mind to do something special. We had the idea and recorded the song, it’s a song that represents us as Joker Out.

Some things about the performance:

It will be a 3-minute Joker Out concert. We’re going to keep the same energy, be as close to each other as possible and try to have as much interaction with the crowd as possible.

Slovenia is a relatively small country with not much financial power. We believe some of the Slovenian entries have been really good and deserved better. We are here to set this trend upside down!

There will be an English version of the song as well, but we are going to keep the Slovenian version.

Their favorite Eurovision entries:

We are fans of Eurovision and our first memory is Ruslana!

Our favorite Slovenian Eurovision entry is Samo Ljubezen from 2002.

Their message to the readers of EurovisionFun:

Hello EurovisionFun! Thank you so much for all of your support and we can’t wait to meet you in Liverpool!

We would like to thank Joker Out for their interview and wish them best of luck!

Lithuania: Preparations for Liverpool have started!

Monika Linkytė, Lithuania’s representative for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, started her preparation for her performance on Liverpool’s stage, as she herself revealed on her social media platforms. Specifically, she shared some of her photos taken into a dance studio, in which Liverpool’s stage is shown to be marked, in order for her better positioning on stage.

  • Barcelona Eurovision Party
  • Eurovision In Concert 2023
  • London Eurovision Party
  • PrePartyES 2023

Monika Linkytė mentions that she feels extremely happy but impatient as well for her own participation in the oncoming contest. However this is not going to be her very first experience from the Eurovision Song Contest, since she has already represented her own country once more, back in 2015 as a member of the duet along with Vaudas Baumila, singing the song “This Time” which ended up in the 18th place.

Remember that Monika Linkytė came at the first place of Lithuania’s national final format called Pabandom iš naujo! 2023 and she is going to perform her song “Stay” during the second half of the second semi-final on May 11th.

Germany: Frida Gold withdrew from Unser Lied für Liverpool!

Eight songs will compete tonight to represent Germany in the national final Unser Lied für Liverpool, after Frida Gold withdrew due to the illness of their lead singer Alina Süggeler.

Frida Gold, with the song ‘Alle Frauen in mir sind müde‘ (‘All women in me are tired’), did not take part in the second rehearsal yesterday, nor in the rehearsal scored by the jury, who judged them based on the video of the first rehearsal. The singer’s health does not seem to have improved, making it impossible for her to participate in today’s show.

Frida Gold stated the following:

“Already on the second day of the rehearsals it was obvious to all involved that Alina Süggeler was very ill and suffering from fever. She was only able to do two run-throughs, during which she could only partially sing. She then immediately left for home in the hope that rest and medication could stabilize her for the next day.

Unfortunately, the opposite happened; in addition to fever, chills and a sharp sore throat, she had completely lost her voice. The doctor pointed out that she needed to rest in bed for a week.

The available medication did not lead to any improvement to enable her to meet the requirements of the competition. For Alina and everyone involved, after weeks of work and preparation, this is a shock and a huge disappointment.

It was Frida Gold’s idea and desire to present the message of the song “Alle Frauen In Mir Sind Müde” in front of a large audience, as it is an important topic.

The possibility of possibly singing it in Liverpool as the German entry was also a big motivation.

Frida Gold would like to thank all the organisers and of course their fans.”

In terms of the scoring for tonight’s show, this means that the eight international juries will now only award 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2 and 1 points each.

Listen to Frida Gold‘s “Alle Frauen in mir sind müde“, which unfortunately will not appear in tonight’s national final:
