Serbia: Former participant reports PZE as rigged!

Angellina, who participated in both editions of Pesma Za Evroviziju in 2022 and 2023, yesterday challenged the objectivity and impartiality of the Serbian national final.

The young singer while answering questions on her personal Instagram account also mentioned her participation in PZE:

The question was as follows

“Are you ever again participating in PZE?”

With her answering

“Never again, nor in any other rigged competition!
I never really needed it, I did it somewhat naively and only out of immense love for my country… However, I believe there are many better ways to make your country proud..”

Instagram // @angellinaofficial

Another relevant question that was answered was the following:

“What do you think about your last song on PZE?”

“It was very interesting. But too much for that moment. My mistake is that I did it out of spite and not out of love.
I had way better songs, but that’s how I felt at the time.”

Angellina came 4th in the 2022 national final with “Origami”, while in 2023 she failed to qualify for Saturday’s final, finishing 12th in the semi-final with “Lanac”.

Do you think PZE could be rigged? Let us know in the comments below!

Serbia: Interview with Boris Subotić from Pesma Za Evroviziju 2022!

After the announcement of his participation in this year’s Serbian national final, Pesma Za Evroviziju 2022, Boris Subotić talks exclusively to EurovisionFun and Konstantinos Thermos.

Boris Subotić is participating in the national final with the song “Vrati mi” (Give me back) and is one of the 36 nominated artists who will compete on 3, 4 and 5 March for the ticket to represent Serbia in Turin in May.

– Boris, it is a great pleasure for us that you accepted our proposal and we thank you for that! First of all we would like to ask you, why Pesma Za Evroviziju? Why Eurovision? And why now? What made you take this decision and is it, perhaps, something you have wanted for a long time?

– Eurovision has been my biggest wish for a long time, so I knew that sooner or later I would apply for the selection of the representative. I waited a long time for this, because I thought I had to grow up enough to be able to take on this project. My main partner, Miloš Marković, suggested that we apply, I agreed and here I am!

– You have participated in several music competitions, including the national final to represent Serbia in Junior Eurovision. Would you say that your previous experience will help you have less stress during the competition?

– Since I was exposed to similar competitions as a child, I think I am ready to meet the pace such a competition requires. As for the stress, I think this time I will have the most!

– We know that you have written “Vrati Mi” yourself. What is the message of your song and what inspired you to write it?

– I want to let the audience find their own meaning and message in the song. The song is a reflection of myself from the first verse to the last. For the first time I am totally presenting myself the way I want to and the way I think I should!

– Since your candidacy was officially announced, what was the best comment you have heard about yourself? And correspondingly, has there been anything you’ve heard that you think is wrong or unfair towards you?

– Being a used to exposure, because of my past experiences, I try not to dwell too much on people’s comments. However, I have to admit that I have received a lot of positive feedback, which makes me incredibly happy!

– Do you have any thoughts about your stage presentation in the national final, and if so, could you share something with us?

– I can’t reveal anything at the moment, but the stage presence will definitely follow the song and me as a performer closely!

– Were you a fan of the contest from before? What’s your favorite entry?

– Considering that I am someone who is not overly involved in sports and competitions, I can say that Eurovision is the only contest that I follow closely every year! My favourite song, apart from my country’s entries, is definitely “Don’t come easy” sung by Isaiah in 2017.

– Have you listened to any of this year’s already selected songs or any of the songs from the other national finals, and if so, which ones did you like the most?

– Honestly, right now my life is just focused on my performance and song, so I can’t say I’ve listened to or watched anything this year, but as soon as I get some free time I’ll definitely listen to everything!

– Is there anything you would like to share with those who read this interview?

– I would like to invite people to listen to ¨Vrati mi¨ and if they like it, even half as much as I do, to be by my side on this journey!

At this point we would like to thank Boris Subotić once again for the interview and wish him all the best!

Serbia: Stefan Zdravković withdraws from the national final!

A week ago, the Serbian broadcaster, RTS, announced the participants’ list and song titles for the new Serbian national final “Pesma Za Evroviziju 2022“. However one of the participants, Stefan Zdravković, will not finally participate in the show!

Through his personal Instagram account Stefan confirmed that we will not be seeing him in the Serbian final this year.

The question was “How is your song for Beovizija?” and he answered saying

“About Beovizija, we will see each other either in the next or some other year”

The singer did not give any further explanation about his withdrawal, although when asked why giving up on such an opportunity for his career he answered

“Yes, Beovizija (and Eurovision) is of course a great opportunity but it’s not the only one. The Eurovision Song Contest will also be there next year, I’m not giving up on it. Everything comes in its time”

He also revealed that his song “Ljubi Svog Čoveka”, written by Valentina Vukomanović, was pop and it might end up being sung by some other singer, as she holds all the copyrights. Stefan mentioned that’s what he thinks should happen but he can not guarantee anything. RTS still has not confirmed anything about the song being sung by some other artist or mentioned another solution.
