United Kingdom: Eurovision-winning songwriter Linnea Deb shows interest in writing a UK Eurovision entry!
One could say that Linnea is a hit-making-machine and that’s not wrong! Deb won the Eurovision Song Contest back in 2015, when she was one of the songwriters for Måns Zelmerlöw‘s Swedish entry “Heroes“, but that was not just it!
She has also written songs for the national selection procedures held in Finland, Denmark, San Marino, Poland, Norway, Croatia and Estonia, not to mention her numerous Melodifestivalen hit entries and international releases among others.
Linnea spoke to The Euro Trip as a guest on one of the episodes of the series “The Contest & Me” and said she would gladly be up for writing a Eurovision song for the United Kingdom, if asked, by mentioning:
“Absolutely. Hit me up! If you want to win [or] if you want to have a good outcome then you should go abroad, just look for the best song. That’s what it’s about.”
Among others, Linnea Deb has written:
- Saara Aalto – “Monsters” (Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2018, represented Finland in 2018, placed 25th)
- Ben & Tan – “Yes” (Dansk MGP 2020, placed 1st but Eurovision 2020 got cancelled)
- Margaret – “Cool Me Down” (Krajowe Eliminacje 2016, placed 2nd)
- Måns Zelmerlöw – “Heroes” (Melodifestivalen 2015, represented Sweden and won the contest)
