Italy: Alessandra Amoroso new favourite to win Sanremo 2024!
The bookmakers have reformulated their odds and we have a clearer situation as to the favourites at the upcoming Sanremo festival, which is already attracting not only domestic music interest, but also from abroad. New big favorite for the victory is now the pop superstar Alessandra Amoroso, who in her first participation in the festival is of course aiming for the victory, which will give her not only the Golden Lion, but also the ticket to Malmö!
The odds for Sanremo 2024
Two bookmakers, William Hill and BWIN, among the biggest and most authoritative in the industry, already have bets available on the winner of Sanremo 2024. Both, with slight deviations in their odds, give the same ranking. Big favorite to win is 37-year-old Alessandra Amoroso with quite low odds for the time point we are at and a 14% chance of winning, a significant percentage considering we have 27 candidates!
Geolier follows with 10%. The famous Italian rapper, with millions of streams last year and countless concerts, will definitely have the support of the new generation. In third place is Negramaro, who were in first place a few days ago. The historic pop band is rightly considered as one of the big favourites to win with 9%, although Italian eurofans are not so sure as to whether they would be suitable for the Eurovision contest. Who is Alessandra Amoroso ?
Alessandra Amoroso has been starring in Italian showbiz since 2009. She is a singer, composer, producer, but also with a large television presence. Her career started in 2009, when she won the country’s most famous talent show, Amici di Maria De Filippi. She has released eight full-length albums, two live collections and dozens of singles. Over the years she has reached eight No. 1s in the Italian charts. She has sold millions of albums, and Amazon Music, featured her as one of the four most streamed artists in Italy for 2021 and 2022.
She has worked with all the big names in Italy. In her career she has won three MTV Music Awards and seven Wind Music Awards, which is the biggest music awards in the country.
The most commercial song of her career was Comunque Adare, which was co-written by Elisa, with whom she has a close friendship and is also one of Italy’s most commercial and successful pop artists. The song has been described as the ultimate anthem of optimism and faith in the fight for life.
Alessandra Amoroso and Sanremo
Since 2009 and after her victory at Amici di Maria De Filippi, all the artistic directors of Sanremo have approached Alessandra and her Record Agency, asking her to take part in the festival. But no one was ever able to convince her, since, as she had mentioned in interviews, she did not want to relive the stress of a competitive process like the one she went through in the music talent show from which she started.
For the above reasons, her name was not on any of the rumoured lists released by the various media in the past period. So like a bolt from the blue came the announcement from Amadeus that after 15 years Alessandra Amoroso said the big yes to participate in the festival.
So it’s no surprise that she is the big favourite to win, since everyone reasonably assumes that since Amadeus convinced her to participate, she comes up with a really strong song that can give her not only the victory at Teatro Ariston, but also the ticket to Malmö and the representation of Italy at Eurovision 2024.
