Croatia: These are the hosts of Dora 2024!

A month before the Croatian national final for Eurovision 2024, HRT, the Croatian public broadcaster announced presenters of the three nights of Dora 2024!

For this edition, Dora will be hosted by a trio of presenters. These are, the long-time Croatian Eurovision commentator, Duško Čurlić, the HRT presenter and Eurovisionspokesperson Maja Ciglenečki, and the host of the show “Art à la Carte”, Anja Cerar.

Duško Čurlićb gave an interview after the announcement of the hosts:

“It’s a big production, there are many details that make up the picture that goes to our viewers in the end, and it’s simply a challenge to be a part of it and give a part of yourself and your work to the whole story, I always have nervousness because at that moment when I don’t have it, I might be better off doing something else. For me, trepidation is a responsibility, towards the spectators, the team and ultimately to myself. Trembling is a good thing that gives you that extra motivation. Maja and Anja, know that I’m a nerdy guy who likes to prepare well, and these are two really talented people with whom I believe it will be a pleasure to go on stage and lead this year’s Dora.”

Maja Ciglenečki stated that she is really honoured to be invited as a host for the national selection:

“For years, I participated in the project as a spokesperson of Zagreb jury’s 12 points and followed the entire course of last year’s competitions from Prisavlje. I am very much looking forward to the new perspective – the one from the stage, as well as the collaboration with Anja and Duška”

Anja Cerar is completely new to the Eurovision project and she thinks its a new and challenging task:

“Dora is a vivid manifestation, a pop culture phenomenon that I have been following forever, and to participate in this way is a surreal feeling! The format itself is quite different from the Art à la carte show I deal with every day, but being part of Eurovision is a unique and fun opportunity. The preparations have already been a great experience, especially with the great Maja and the face and voice of Dora, Duška”

The semi-finals of Dora 2024 will take place on 22 and 23 February and the Grand Final on 25 February, where Croatia’s representative to Eurovision 2024 will be determined.
