Norway: Bobbysox! to compete in Melodi Grand Prix 2025
Bobbysox!, the Norwegian duo who won Eurovision 1985 with the hit “La det swinge”, is set to reunite and compete in this year’s Melodi Grand Prix (MGP). The news has been confirmed by Norwegian media ahead of the official announcements regarding this year’s competition.
Elisabeth Andreassen and Hanne Krogh, the members of Bobbysox!, have both had additional Eurovision appearances: Elisabeth competed for Sweden in 1982 and Norway in 1994 and 1996, while Hanne represented Norway in 1971 and 1991.
Artist Announcement Scheduled for January 16
The full list of participants for MGP 2025 will be revealed on Thursday, January 16, at 12:00 CET. A press conference will be held at NRK’s Marienlyst headquarters in Oslo, hosted by Marte Stokstad, Tete Lidbom, and Markus Neby. The event will be broadcast live, offering fans the chance to meet the ten acts set to compete for the opportunity to represent Norway at Eurovision 2025.
Song Release on January 24
The ten songs in this year’s competition will be released to the public on Friday, January 24. This will give fans their first opportunity to hear the tracks ahead of the live performances in February.
Grand Final Returns to Oslo Spektrum
The Melodi Grand Prix grand final will take place on Saturday, February 15, at Oslo Spektrum. This marks the competition’s return to the iconic venue after six years. Tickets for the grand final went on sale on November 22 and are expected to sell out as the competition draws closer.
