All the information about the Greek entry in Eurovision 2022 so far!

ERT may have been accustomed to official announcements in the past years after the Christmas holidays, but the place in the top ten that Stefania brought to Rotterdam a few months ago whetted the appetite of the managers of the Greek public broadcaster, who want an even better placement in Italy. Thus, in contrast to what happened in previous years, we will soon have the first announcements, while there are many artists who are preparing to claim the Greek representation in Eurovision 2022. We will see all this briefly below.

How will ERT choose the artist and the song?

So far no final decision has been made on how the artist will be selected, but also the song that will represent Greece in the next song contest. Nevertheless, what seems most likely is a process similar to the one followed in 2020. An artistic committee of ERT to examine the proposals that will be submitted and decide on both the performer and the song. The difference with 2020 is that this time the process will be more open and with more publicity, giving the opportunity to any interested party to submit his proposal.

At the end of September, ERT will make the first announcements, giving a deadline of no more than two months, for those interested in wishing to represent Greece in Eurovision 2022. Immediately after, the proposals submitted to the committee will be evaluated and the most appropriate one will be selected. ERT’s goal is that by the end of the year, the Greek entry in the next song contest has been selected, so that there will be plenty of time for the video clip, the setting up of the stage presentation, but also the promotion of the song abroad.

Stefania’s good result this year, after eight years of failures, but also the professionalism shown by the ERT team in this year’s contest, has aroused the interest of many artists. Let us then look at three of them, who have already begun their preparations for claiming Greek representation in Eurovision 2022.

Kalomira wants to return

Kalomira wants it very much, but the same desire is shared by her record company Heaven. According to our information, Heaven is preparing a specific proposal in order to submit it to ERT, in a relatively short period of time. Kalomira is not unknown to the friends of the contest, since in 2008 she took the third place for Greece, with My Secret Combination.

Of course, this alone is not enough to bring the sweetest Kalomira back to the contest. ERT should announce the way in which the artist and song will be selected for Eurovision 2022, while of course Kalomira’s proposal should convince the managers of the Greek public television that it will bring a very good result for the country in the music competition, which will take place next May in Italy.

The interest from all the record companies, after this year’s tenth place of Stefania and the way ERT managed the Eurovision project, has reasonably increased and Kalomira is not the only one who is preparing….

Amanda from Norway wants to repeat Stefania’s success

Amanda Georgiadi or as she is known, Amanda Tenfjord, is a half Greek artist that lives and works in Norway. After this year’s successful participation with Stefania, ERT will probably want to repeat the successful experiment, sending a talented artist from abroad, thus capturing votes from countries that basically do not vote for Greece (this year Stefania received 10 points of the Dutch televoting).

Through her social networks, Amanda informs us about the fact that she was in the studio, for the recording of new songs. Of course, Eurovisionfun could not help but ask the expatriate, talented songwriter and singer if this recording has anything to do with the Eurovision Song Contest.

Amanda willingly answered us, telling us that she recorded three new songs, one of which is actually intended for Eurovision. She also revealed to us that she will visit Greece in the next months. Specifically, as soon as she performed the second dose of the vaccine, the young artist told us that she would come to Greece, in order to be here in the studio as well.

Good job Nicky is also preparing

Many eurofans in Greece would be extremely happy, if Good job Nicky would be the country’s representative in the next Eurovision Song Contest. Nikolas Varthakouris, who as Good Job Nicky has brought fresh air to the Greek music scene, is particularly positive about the possibility of participating in the Eurovision Song Contest, provided of course he finds the right song, which in turn will convince ERT that can be a worthy successor to Stefania and Last Dance.

The interest of Good Job Nicky to participate in Eurovision seems to be confirmed by Ermis (Hermes Geragidis), the composer-producer with whom Nikolas writes all his songs. When asked on Instagram about the possibility of seeing Nicky on the Eurovision stage, Ermis said ignorance laughing, but then nodded in agreement.

Vote in our poll

Of course, the interested artists are not exhausted in the above three names, since as we told you, many will be the ones who will try to claim the Greek representation for Eurovision 2022. But there are definitely three persons that will occupy us in the coming months. Vote in our poll below. Who you would like to represent Greece at Eurovision 2022, send your own message to ERT!

Greece: What is Kalomira preparing? EXCLUSIVE

The law of Intellectual Property prohibits any illegal use / appropriation of this, with severe civil and criminal penalties for the offender.

Kalomira, who spends her holidays in Greece with her husband, her children, but also her friends, has been showing intense mobility lately. Is all this activity related, in the middle of summer, in fact, to a possible claim of the Greek representation in Eurovision 2022?

Kalomira returns to musical things!

A few hours ago Kalomira updated the cover photo on her social media, something very strange of course for the time we are at.

The truth is that Kalomira has been in Greece for a long time, while she did not go unnoticed and some meetings she had in the previous period with her partners in Heaven, with whom from the first steps of her career she maintains very good professional, but also friendly relations.

Is this return related to Eurovision 2022?

Of course, everyone’s first thought is whether the artistic reactivation of Kalomira is related to a possible Greek representation at Eurovision 2022.

It is known, she has also revealed, that she had some discussions with RIK in order to represent Cyprus in this year’s contest. The pandemic, however, did not give her much opportunity to give a positive answer, since any trips from the USA where she lives with her family, were almost forbidden. She said then:

It was a risk with the coronavirus to travel with the children. There I put the brake.

But 2022 is a new year and Kalomira is more and more in Greece. Her interest in Eurovision, as she has said from time to time, remains a given and she would like to be on the stage of the competition again.

Yes, I would go to Eurovision in the future. The children have now grown up. I would like my children to see me on stage. They have not understood that I am a singer. They asked me why they were interviewing me.

How likely is it to see Kalomira at Eurovision 2022?

Let us now turn to the crucial question. Is it possible to see Kalomira representing the Greek colors? She wants it very much, but the same desire is shared by her record company Heaven. According to our information, Heaven is preparing a specific proposal in order to submit it to ERT, in a relatively short period of time.

However, it is no coincidence that even on the feast of Kalomira a few days ago, Heaven hurried to remind us of Secret Combination through its social networks, the song with which in 2008 the then 23-year-old singer, gave to Greece the third place .

Ivi Adamou expresses interest in returning to Eurovision!

In a recent interview with real.gr, Ivi Adamou, the Cypriot Eurovision 2012 representative, has expressed her interest to once again take part in the contest!

When asked about whether she would be interested in representing either Greece or Cyprus again in the future, her response was the following:

I would, yes, it was a wonderful experience. They have proposed it to me multiple times. I believe I’ll feel it when the moment is right. I want a really good song and a really strong team. Let’s see, I hope so!

As she stated herself, she had already received multiple proposals from cypriot broadcaster RIK in the past couple of years, however she had to refuse in order to take care of her newborn, then, daughter. This year, however, among general pressure from the public for an actual cypriot artist to represent Cyprus in Eurovision 2022, the cypriot singer decided to finally show her interest.

Ivi is currently on a summer tour with her partner Michalis Kouinelis, member of the hip hop group Stavento. You can listen to their latest single below:

Greece: Listen to a teaser from Stefania’s “Mucho Calor”!

Shortly before its official release on June 25, Stefania presents a 30-second teaser of her new single entitled, Mucho Calor. The song will be presented for the first time on the stage of MAD VMA 2021!

You also read about the history of the song in our previous article. Mucho Calor has karmic relation to the contest, since three times in the past it came close to representing either Greece or Cyprus, but the final choice was always different.

Mucho Calor was originally submitted to ERT for Eurovision 2020. Although the song was first in the focus group voting that dream team held that year, SUPERG! RL was finally chosen, as a song that Stefania could better support.

Then the composers of the song suggested it to Sandro, who even recorded it and it was one of the songs that RIK had on the table, for the Cypriot representation at Eurovision 2020. But Sandro wanted a song that would have his personal of touch and so the song did not end there either.

With some changes, Mucho Calor, but also with a different title (Inferno), the song was submitted in 2021 to ERT. In fact, the artistic committee of the Greek public television initially wanted this to be the song with which Stefania would represent Greece in Rotterdam. Finally, considering the scenarios for the stage presentation, but also other factors, such as the voting of the juries, Last Dance was chosen.

We wish Last Dance, but also Stefania to continue their successful course in Greece and Europe!

Greece: The stand in rehearsal was completed with absolute success!

The Greek delegation received a few minutes ago the video with the stand in rehearsal. According to the information available to Eurovisionfun, the artistic team is completely satisfied with the result, considering that Stefania will take the show even higher.

Satisfaction from the Greek delegation for the stand in rehearsal

From the beginning, there was concern about the technical risk, which the Greek delegation undertook with the stage presentation of Last Dance. Finally, it is now clear that everything Fokas Evangelinos thought and designed works perfectly on the stage of Ahoy.

With less stress, since the remarks and what needs to be corrected are really details, the Greek delegation will travel to Rotterdam in about a week. The central effect of the Greek entry works without problems, while what they will ask to change are just some shots. Keep in mind that Greece will have one of the most impressive stage appearances in the competition this year!

A little earlier, Stefania uploaded a story on Instagram, outside of Ahoy. As we were informed, this happened as he went to pick up the clothes, which the Greek delegation had planned to send to the organizers to see even this detail. That is, how he writes in the lens. So Stefania did not see live the stand in rehearsal of Last Dance, like any of the other participants of course, who did not have the opportunity for such a thing.

We remind you that the first Greek rehearsal is scheduled for Monday, May 10 at 12.00 CET!

De Telegraaf confirms that the country that risks to accomplish something unprecedented on the scene is Greece!

The largest newspaper in the Netherlands, De Telegraaf, in its latest podcast for the contest, refers to the statements of Twan van de Nieuwenhuijzen – head of the organizing committee for Eurovision 2021, confirming the Eurovisionfun article!

Extensive reference is made to the statements of Twan van de Nieuwenhuijzen (and not of Sietse Bakker, as we inadvertently wrote). Specifically on the Podcast, journalist Katja Zwart reports:

Twan van de Nieuwenhuijzen said that although he did not initially pay much attention to this country, he eventually saw in various rehearsal videos sent from a gym somewhere in Europe that they were trying to do something on stage that had not been done before in the contest and has some risk. If they succeed it will be something impressive!

Katja Zwart, referring to the information of Eurovisionfun, claims that according to what she knows, this country is Greece. Then they try to guess what the Greek delegation will accomplish and impress.

There are some thoughts such as that it will have something to do with Pegasus or Atlanta and the earth he holds in his hands.

However, according to our information, the Greek delegation continues the technical tests, wanting to exclude any possibility of failure. In fact, yesterday and today there will be new discussions with the organizers, who are also determined to provide Stefania, who is also their own child, with all the help needed to make the appearance planned by Fokas Evangelinos.

The truth is that all this paraphilology has favored the Greek entry which according to oddschecher is now in eleventh place in the betting table, for the victory in Eurovision 2021, continuing this rising rally of the last days. We remind you that last week it was in 15th place!

Sietse Bakker: “If their plans work, we will see something we have never seen before”. Which is that entry?

Sietse Bakker, producer of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, gave an interview about everything we will see next May in Rotterdam. Among what he said is interesting all he said about the participation of a country, where the rehearsals happen in a gym. As he characteristically states, if what this delegation plans, work on the stage of the Ahoy Arena, then it will be something really impressive, which we have never seen on the stage of Eurovision. Of course Eurovisionfun gives you all the important detail…

As we have written to you in our previous articles, the stage appearance prepared by Fokas Evangelinos for Last Dance and Stefania is something that has not taken place again on the stage of the contest and is an idea that will create a school. We are sure that in the coming years will be used by other countries, of course always adapted and perhaps evolved over time.

Is it a risk? Yes, technically it is a risk. That is why the Greek delegation is constantly testing, in order to be sure that everything will go smoothly and we will have an even TV result. What happened in 2017 with Demy where nothing worked as planned, became a lesson and the Greek artistic team this time, but also ERT, which wants a very good result in this year’s contest, leave nothing to chance.

So to be sure, Stefania has been rehearsing for three weeks and will be coming in Athens for another two weeks. Many technical tests were carried out both by the Greek delegation and by the organizers and at this moment, according to our information, all the problems that had arisen have been resolved.

Stefania’s rehearsals as it is already known take place at the ERT gym in Agia Paraskevi. We know that several rehearsals have been videotaped from there, where they have been sent to the organizers to realize exactly everything that takes place in the Greek entry, literally every second.

It is clear which entry Sietse Bakker is referring to, since he really describes the stage appearance that has been inspired by Fokas Evangelinos!
