Obviously excited for her song, says that she is grateful for the messages that fans send her, after the releasement of her song and that she is ready to stand on the Eurovision stage.

Titans” was chosen between three songs that she had prepared, says Vilde.

I had three songs, two of which, were leaded on a debate. “Titan” and a powerful ballad, which will be my next single.

From this year’s competitors, she highlights the participations of Maria Mohn, Eline Noela and  Elsie Bay while also giving out some hints on her MGP 2022 performance.

On stage, I will have four dancers, my choreographer is very good. I will wear a green dress which is very interesting. There are a lot of  surprises, mainly in the last chorus. I focus on the song, the vocals, the performance and the message of the song.

With the song “Titans“, Vilde, she wants to pass a message about the fears and the feelings that women experience throughout their lives. She hopes that her song will be an hymn that will make every listener understand that together they can find the power they need.

Lastly, asked about our representative this year, Amanda Tenfjord, also coming from Norway, Vilde  said:

Of course I know her, I listen to her song this past year. Here in Norway everybody knows everyone. I was surprised with Greece’s choice and I find it really interesting. Norway: Elsie Bay’s “Death Of Us” is accused of plagiarism!

It is the favorite according to the odds, at least at this stage, for the victory in MGP 2022 and the representation of Norway in the upcoming Eurovision song contest. However, controversy has been caused in the last few hours on Twitter, as there are many users who claim that Elsie Bay’s Death Of Us has very strong similarities, not with one, but with two songs.

Specifically, Twitter users find several similarities in Death Of Us, both with Lana Del Rey’s Young And Beautiful and Aurora’s Forgotten Love, who is also Norwegian.

To emphasize these similarities, Twitter users also made relevant videos, where they compare the two songs, in spots where the similarities are more than enough.

You can listen to them below and draw your own conclusions:

Norway: The first information about the songs of MGP 2022!

Anders Tangen, a member of the Norwegian Eurovision news site escNorge, has also listened to excerpts from the songs and in a recent podcast gave him the following information!

  • The competition is more open than against TIX vs. Keiino of 2021
  • One of the direct finalists has a disappointing song (it could be NorthKid)
  • There are two heavy-metal / rock songs, one from an internationally known band (it could be Gaahls Wyrd), while the other was created specifically for the national final
  • A famous personality takes part and seems to be returning to the competition, although the artist does not have a good song
  • There is a dynamic ballad by a singer that was part of a successful duet (it seems to be Elsie Bay from Elsa & Emilie, who wrote last year’s “Witch Woods”)
  • This year has strong ballads, which could contribute to great success at Eurovision
  • There will be no genres like “rølp” or “russemusikk”
  • There is a country song by an artist who has participated in a music show (it could be one of Steffen Jakobsen, Ingvar Olsen or Kristian Raanes. If it is Ingvar, the song may have been written by Mørland (Norway 2015) after they have worked together in the past)
  • There are several up and coming artists from music shows like The Voice or Idol
  • One of the artists has been used on vocals for Norway (it could be Bjørnar Reime found on vocals in 2015 or Øyvind Boye Løvold who supported with his voice in 2010 and 2011)

We remind you that tomorrow, January 10, at 13:30 cet, the 21 artists will be announced as well as their songs, something that has to be done from 2019, in order to claim the coveted ticket to Turin!

Norway: A Eurostar among the rumoured MGP 2022 participants!

The participants of Melodi Grand Prix 2022 will be announced next week but escNorge.no has already revealed some names that according to them will be among the competitors.

It seems that VILDE, Kim Wigaard, Northkid, Farida, Maria Mohn, Christian Ingebrigtsen, Oda Gondrosen, Mari Bølla and Elsie Bay might be on the list of the participants of the Norwegian national final.

Also, former Melodi Grand Prix participants Anna-Lisa Kumoji (MGP 2019) and Alexandra Joner (MGP 2015) are likely to return.

However, what is perhaps the most interesting revelation is that a former MGP winner is probably in the running, aiming to represent Norway once more, or for the first time, in case the former winner turns out to be Ulrikke.

The participation of a former MGP winner was also hinted by the Twitter account of Eurovision Norway :

NRK will reveal the 22 competing artists on Monday, January 10th 2022 and all the songs will be released later on the same day.

The schedule for the Melodi Grand Prix shows is as follows:

  • January 15 – Semi-Final One
  • January 22 – Semi-Final Two
  • January 29 – Semi-Final Three
  • February 5 – Semi-Final Four
  • February 12 – Second Chance Round
  • February 19 – Grand Final

Eurovision 2022: Semi Final Allocation Draw to take place on January 25!

One of the most important dates of the 66th Eurovision Song Contest was revealed a few hours ago, as the draw for the Eurovision 2022 semi-finals will take place on January 25th.

As revealed by the Montenegrin state radio, RTCG, in the context of the announcement of Vladana Vučinić as the representative of the Balkan country in Turin, the draw of the semi-finals will take place in exactly three weeks from today.

During the ceremony, the emblem of the event will be handed over from the city of Rotterdam to the Mayor of Turin. The draw will take place either at the Mole Antonelliana, the tallest building in Turin, or at the Palazzo Madama, which housed the first Senate of the Italian Kingdom.

The draw

The first part of the draw will determine the semi-final that will be broadcasted and voted by each of the five countries that are directly in the final (Italy, France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom).

The second part of the draw will determine in which semi-final and in which half the other 36 participating countries will compete. As in recent years, the exact order of appearance will be determined by the producers of the event at a later time.

The 36 countries will be distributed in five or six pots, based on historical voting patterns as calculated by the official television partner Digame. This separation is done in order to avoid the gathering of many neighboring countries in a semifinal that would significantly affect the final result.

We remind you that Eurovision 2022 will be held on May 10, 12 and 14 at the PalaOlimpico in the capital of Piedmont. Thus, Turin will become the third city in Italy where the Eurovision Song Contest will be held. The previous two were Naples in 1965 and Rome in 1991.

We remind you that the 66th Eurovision Song Contest will take place at the Pala Alpitour in Turin, on 10, 12 and 14 May 2022, with 41 participating countries.Stay tuned to Eurovisionfun for all the news related to the 66th Eurovision Song Contest!
