Reactions continue over the cancellation of the voting of six juries!

On Saturday night, during the Grand Final, the EBU sent out a vague statement saying it had identified “voting irregularities” in six unnamed countries after the second rehearsals of the Second Semi-Final. Their jury votes were cancelled and replaced with a ” substitute aggregated result for each concerned country for both the Second Semi-Final and the Grand Final (calculated based on the results of other countries with similar voting records)”

Understandably, the above treatment caused a reaction from these countries as there had been no prior information and they ended up seeing a different score from the one they had given themselves.

Romania

On Sunday morning, Romanian television posted a lengthy statement on the official Eurovision page, which among other things said

“Romanian TV is fully committed to participate in Eurovision 2022, paying the participation fee and preparing, together with the WRS team, a project that won the appreciation of the public”

“We were surprised to see that the result of the Romanian jury’s vote was not taken into account in the final ranking, with the organisers assigning a different score on behalf of our country’s jury”

“We clarify that the Romanian jury decided to give the maximum score to the Moldovan representatives”

Furthermore, TVR, asks the EBU for the exact reasons why they made the cancellation of their committee’s score and they are able to make amends in case they made a mistake.

Montenegro

The Montenegrin broadcaster reacted in the same way

“Following the announcements made on the Eurovision website, we would like to inform the public that we have sent a request for clarification to authorised representatives of the EBU”

“Following the submission of our jury’s vote, the relevant officials stated that the RTCG vote was conducted in accordance with the normal procedure, was legally certified by the EBU, and they saw no reason to suspect any form of irregularity. We therefore await a detailed answer to the question of our vote change.”

Georgia

Georgia’s broadcaster, GPB, has issued a statement regarding the removal of the Georgian jury’s votes from Eurovision 2022

“The Public Broadcaster met all the requirements, sent the official document and received the EBU’s consent that there were no possible irregularities”

“The Georgian jury gave its highest score, the 12 points, to Ukraine. However, when the results of the Final were announced, the 12 points from Georgia were given to the United Kingdom”

“The Georgian delegation had no interest in manipulating the results. It was of prime importance for our jury to secure 12 points for a deserving contestant, which in this case was the representative of Ukraine”

The Georgian public broadcaster remains in active communication with the EBU regarding the current situation and hopes that official answers will be provided soon.

To date, the EBU has not yet clarified the exact reason why the votes of the six juries were removed.

What do you think of all this? Could much of the confusion have been cleared up if the EBU had given more specific information from the start? We look forward to reading your views in the comments below!

Romania: The points awarded by the Romanian Jury!

Romanian public television announced the points that their jury would have given if the EBU had not canceled their rating.

Romania was also one of the six countries whose jury results were annulled, as in the second semifinal, as reported by the EBU, they had strange results.

Romania Public Television recently announced the results of the jury in the Grand Final, as it would have voted if it had not canceled its rating:

Here the question arises, that the results of Romania were strange, when for example in the final it gave 12 to Moldova which did not vote for Romania at all and 10 to Greece, which gave 7 to Romania. No exchange occurs here and erroneously in our opinion the results of their jury in the final were canceled.

Eurovision 2022: The Family Show Of The Grand Final! (Updated)

The big day is finally here and the Grand Final is taking place at the PalaOlimpico. The family show of the final has just started! It is addressed, as the title says, to families. Αll entries will once again perform their song, with the show being used more as a warm-up, a final rehearsal for minor corrections before the TV show, tonight!

We are at the press center and will bring you live everything that happens here in real time. We remind you that the jury rehearsal took place yesterday, with 50% of the total score having already been judged. Stay tuned to EurovisionFun for the family show.

The show

The program begins with a large group of people singing “Give peace a chance“! Then we see Mika and Alessandro Cattelan on stage and Laura Pausini songs are performed accompanied by a percussion group.

The parade of countries follows!

Then the presenters of the night appear  and give us all the details about the night that will follow and the voting process.

Czech Republic

We are Domi and “Lights off“  opens the grand final with an energetic performance. We can tell that the singer is  holding back a bit so she can be 100% on point for the final show today! Apart from that, the stage looks great and they can bring a decent result on the final today!

Romania

WRS is bringing the heat on the Eurovision stage this year! For many it came as a surprise that he advanced to the final but he delivers a great performance on stage with not as much differences from what we saw on the 2nd semi-final!

Portugal

Third act for today is MARO with an atmospheric perfomance! Vocally is great and she receives a big applause from the audience in the middle of the song!

Finland

After the soft and calm performance of Portugal, The Rasmus are rocking the stage with a great show! We don’t any differences from the semi final and Lauri delivers good vocals for one more time! The arena seems to love “Jezebel” as they sing a long and they received big applause!

Switzerland

Next up on the stage is Marius Bear with an emotional performance. He delivers great vocals but is hard for him to surprise the audience and have a good result on the grand final!

France

A song that the press center and the crowd on the arena  love and may have a great chance have a good results on tonight show! The staging is beautiful, the vocals on point and France can be the surprise of Grand Final!

Norway

From evocative and mysterious France we go to a party rhythm. Also a participation that can stand out both due to appearance and due to dancing.

Armenia

After the party song of the wolves of Norway we continue with a snap! Armenia delivers good vocals and she really seems to enjoy her performance! The arena claps along the whole song but the running order might be a hard place for her to shine on tonight’s show.

BREAK

Mika and “Laura” show us some shots from the semifinals. Then the presenters are in the green room and talking to us about the plants that surround it.

Italy

The Italian duo are doing an amazing job and they seem like they are back for another great result for Ιtaly! The vocals were improved and the arena went crazy!

Spain

One of the fan favourite to win the show is coming to the stage to bring the party back! Chanel did not gave the energy we know she can deliver and we are sure that tonight can be a great night for Spain after many years!

The Netherland

S10 managed to impress the audience with another captivating performance! She was great vocally but will this be enough after Spain and before Ukraine performances?

Ukraine

The booking favourite to win this year edition is making a great rehearsal with good energy and the receive a big applause from the audience inside the arena!

Germany

One of the calmest entries of this year is undoubtedly that of Germany, with Malik Harris being excellent vocally, but with a weak song. For another year, Germany seems to be heading for the bottom of the standings. Another “bell” for the leaders of the German radio and television, the most powerful in the Old Continent.

Lithuania

Lithuania’s turn to take the stage, with Monika appearing in a different dress compared to the semifinals. It will be difficult, however, to see the maintenance of this dress in the evening show as well. A song with an atmospheric character that is unlikely to be supported by the average Lithuanian viewer. Particularly probable is the end of the last ten of this year’s competition.

Azerbaijan

Next on stage comes the clipped Nadir, who once again is to the point vocally. His voice led him so far and his voice will lead him until two in the evening and the announcement of the final results. Most likely to end up in the top ten.

Belgium

One of the qualifiers-surprises of this year’s competition is Belgium, which many expected to be left out of the final. Nevertheless, Belgium is here, it will compete in the grand final and most likely end up in places 16-25. Moderate response from spectators inside the stadium.

There is a break between Belgium and Greece with Mika and Laura Pausini promoting the official Eurovision 2022 CD and at the same time snapshots from the two semifinals are shown.

Greece

The last rehearsal of Greece before the grand final tonight is next. Amanda once again gives her best, more focused than ever on her goal. Everything went perfectly, with the audience singing with her at the peak of the song in the finale. No special differences compared to the previous days and with the audience adoring Amanda.

Iceland

Greece is followed by one of the surprises of this year’s final, Iceland. A country ballad, which, however, is dug by its presence between our country and Moldova. Their presence is almost certain between 18 and 25.

Moldova

The whole stage on foot for Moldova, which is one of the biggest winners of recent days. A participation that has stood out due to its diversity and its ethnic elements that are so much missing from the grand final. Their impact on the public at night is certain, it remains to be seen what the opinion of the juries will be.

Sweden

The series now has one of the big favorites of this year’s competition, Sweden. Cornelia Jakobs once again raises the crowds at PalaOlimpico, being determined to bring the best possible result for Sweden. Once again in the finale of the song she brings out a crown, which did not exist until yesterday in her appearances.

Australia

Sheldon performs “Not the same” perfectly once again. First male ballad in a series that follows, but the overall result was breath-taking!

The presenters are in the green room and talking to various representatives.

United Kingdom

Probably the best male voice of the year. Another favorite for this year with an epic setting on stage and a performance that is simply riveting, especially towards the end of the song with the guitar. A very warm reaction from the audience. This song will probably do very well, especially on the juries.

Poland

Third consecutive male ballad and another very good interpretation. Will all three ballads go equally well?

Serbia

Konstrakta may be one of the biggest surprises from this edition of Eurovision! She delivers a great performance and she will definitely be high on the televote on tonight’s show!

Estonia

Last act from the final is Stefan with “Hope”! He seems to enjoy his time on the stage and the audience love the performance!

The three presenters tell us how we can vote for our favorite songs and see the tab with the phones.

Voting begins!

First recap of the songs.

Interval Act

We are now ready for the interval act of the final. The Maneskin (to be precise their replacements) appear on stage and perform their new song, supermodel (in this rehearsal we only hear the music). Alessandro Cattelan then invites them to the stage where he asks them about their experiences after their victory and then they perform their new song from the movie Elvis that will be released in June.

Laura Pausini then introduces Gigliola Cinquetti, winner of the 1964 Eurovision Song Contest.

Last but not least, Mika makes an appearance on the stage to perform his greatest hits!

Then countdown to closing telephone lines!

Voting begins with the juries. Then the televoting points are added.

Eurovision 2022: Jury Show of the Grand Final!

The Jury Show of the Grand Final took place today. Twenty-five finalists performed their song once again in front of the experts and audience.

One of the hosts – Laura Pausini opened the show. Right after her performance we witnessed the famous flag parade where all twenty-five acts showed up with their flags when their country’s name was announced.

Here’s the review of all performances:

Czech Republic

Excellent vocals, confident performance. A very jury-friendly song, so juries should’ve definitely paid attention to this. In terms of results, this is probably gonna get a similar result to Cyprus 2021, could be 2-3 places higher or even lower.

Romania

WRS was very happy with his qualification and you definitely could see it, he was happier than ever. The crowd sang the song at the same time with him. Unfortunately, he is performing under statistically the worst slot, so I doubt this will be high enough tomorrow. Not sure juries liked this or not either.

Portugal

Juries should DEFINITELY like this one. So soothing, professional, just wow.

Finland

There were issues vocally as per usual, but it looks effective. Knowing juries pay attention to the vocals, I don’t think juries have ranked this one high, although many jurors could have received nostalgic vibes from the performance and from them as a very famous band.

Switzerland

Marius added some vocal changes and was much better this time. Should definitely come top 10 with the jury voting, even though the televise is gonna rank this one down.

France

Visually excellent, however vocally – lowkey not good. This one is definitely relying on the televoting.

Norway

Professional and slick performance from Norwegian wolves. On other hand, this should be loved by juries since they appreciate quality production, on other hand, this is not ‘jury bait’. Somewhere in the middle with jury voting and relying more on televoting.

Armenia

Rosa was a little bit nervous, but overall a strong vocal performance. Unlike Finland, France and maybe Norway this should be appreciated by professional juries.

Italy

Vocally on the same level as Finland. Atmospheric, the beginning looked fascinating. The outfits were completely different from the rehearsals. As a song, it’s jury bait, but I don’t think it’ll be liked by juries that much.

Spain

First winner vibes here. Nothing else to say.

Netherlands

A very emotional performance from S10, absolutely magnificent. First candidate for jury top 5 maybe?

Ukraine

Their best performance BY FAR. HAS to do well.

Germany

Very emotional, personally enjoyed it a lot. Impressive, but juries won’t go for a rap song.

Lithuania

Excellent! Juries have to have this in their top 10!

Azerbaijan

Everything was on point. Juries should like this one!

Belgium

Jeremy delivered a great performance, even though visually it’s kitschy.

Greece

The jury winner so far. Touching performance, the vocals were astounding! Has to come top 5 overall. Good job, Ellada!

Iceland

This one stands out a lot in the lineup. After so many vocal challenging songs in a row, this feels like something we exactly needed to hear. Probably won’t do that well.

Moldova

FUN!!! However, juries definitely won’t like this one!

Sweden

Professional and slick. Remember, how bookies underestimated Moldova before the rehearsals and how high Sweden was in the odds. Well, it was kind of boring to watch that performance after Moldova. Nevertheless, juries will go crazy about this one. Top 3 contender.

Australia

Sheldon delivered an amazing performance. Kind of worse vocally compared to his other performance but a lock top 10 with juries.

United Kingdom

An obvious jury winner.

Poland

Ochman’s one of the best vocalists of this year’s Eurovision. Only for his vocals alone he should be in the top 10!

Serbia

Winner vibes, but I don’t think juries will support it as much as tele.

Estonia

Everything is on point! Excellent closer.

Prediction of the Jury Voting

Winner: United Kingdom

Top 3: Greece, Australia

Top 5: Sweden, Spain

6-10: Ukraine, Poland, Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland

11-15: Portugal, Belgium, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Norway

16-20: Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania, Serbia, France,

21-25: Moldova, Iceland, Finland, Romania, Germany.

Eurovision 2022: The Family Show Of The 2nd Semi-final! (Updated)

Another big day with the 2nd Semifinal taking place at the PalaOlimpico. The family show of the 2nd semi-final will begin soon!

In the opening video we see one of the presenters of the show, Alessandro Cattelan, give us a special tour around the production and behind the scenes of the show, followed by a choreography.

Before the competing part begins, the hosts of the show describe the voting process. It’s time to start!

Finland

Finland with The Rasmus and the song Jezebel is a great starter for the second semi-final! With their energetic performance, the Rasmus surely manage to wake up the crowd! Lauri, the singer of the band, struggles vocally. The pre-recorded vocal of crowd singing Jezebel just before the last chorus kicks in adds on a lot to the performance! A sure qualifier.

Israel

Michael Ben David gives everything during his performance. Great choreography, excellent vocals, even better camera angles! The crowd goes wild. Most have ruled out Israel’s qualification for the Grand Final, but with this performance Michael actually has many chances of going through.

Serbia

One of this years’ potential dark horses. A great performance from Serbia and Konstrakta. The staging doesn’t have much difference from the national selection one. Effective, captivating and an easy to remember entry. A sure qualifier as well.

Azerbaijan

The song itself doesn’t say much, but the staging is out of this world! Flawless vocals from Nadir and impressive changes during the entry. As the song builds up, the lighting turns to red and black as the stairs split up into 2 parts. This must qualify.

Georgia

Georgia is probably the most surprising country speaking of Eurovision entries, you can never predict what they are going to send next! Unfortunately, this year neither the song convinces, nor the staging. This seems too tacky and immoderate. I can’t see this going through, especially from this hard semi-final.

Malta

A genuine pop song from Malta and Emma Muscat. She is vocally impressive and has fun on stage, which is passing to the viewer! The audience seems divided and doesn’t cheer up that much. I’m not sure if this will qualify, but has chances!

Break

Follows a video related to the music history of Italy and the Sanremo festival.

Alessandro learns how to cheer up the crowd by Mika. Laura Pausini interferes to the conversation and shows how it is really done!

San Marino

One of the most suprising acts of the semi-final! San Marino, even though having a mediocre song, literally burns the stage! Achille knows how to perform and this becomes translated on massive support by the audience. The kiss isn’t given this time. San Marino is once again in the rally for a spot in the Grand Final.

A very small intervention by the hosts follows.

Australia

An excellent performance by Sheldon Riley for Australia, as we are used to. Atmospheric, beautiful, outstanding. Sheldon serves vocally, there isn’t any way Australia didn’t come up to Top 3 with this performance during the jury voting last night. Sure qualifier.

We now see a small video of ‘Coming Up’ and Alessandro introduces Cyprus.

Cyprus

Beautiful Andromache with the song Ela for Cyprus comes on stage. The audience loves this and is cheerful thoughout the performance. Andromache struggles vocally once again. One of the second semi-final question marks.

Ireland

Probably the biggest applause did Ireland and Brooke receive during the beginning of the act. Brooke serving some cool choreo and vocals. She has also changed her hairstyle to straight, not sure if it is just for the rehearsal. She is boosted with confidence and she will also fight for one qualification spot tonight.

North Macedonia

A quite simple staging from North Macedonia, not much going on. Andrea tries to pass through her feelings, but something doesn’t fit in. Cool change in the stage colour during the last chorus. Audience is quiet, even after the end of her performance. I don’t see this qualifying.

Estonia

Another simple staging from Estonia. STEFAN successfully brings and supports the western style at Eurovision. He is vocally strong and audience has fun with this. A safe spot for Estonia to the final.

Break

Follows a video that addresses life and the beauty of our reality.

Romania

An energetic performance from WRS, who will try tonight to break Romania’s NQ streak. With red-orange the main colors of the staging and a surprising dress change, Romania can also qualify to Saturday’s Grand Final.

Poland

Ochman and Poland with the song River and the talk-of-the-town effects during the second chorus, will fight for the win of the semi-final. Ochman is vocally flawless and the performance is interesting as well, will grab some more televoting points.

Montenegro

Montenegro returns to the contest with Vladana. A decent staging for a balkan ballad, with interesting lights on the dress and good enough vocals. Great camera angles towards the end of the act. Feels a bit bland at the end, I don’t think she will have the back of the televoting. Juries might have saved her.

Belgium

One of the most weak run-throughs vocally for Jeremie from Belgium. The song itself was considered a borderline before the rehearsals, but the bland staging featuring good but ordinary choreo and the many clinkers won’t help. I don’t see this qualifying.

Sweden

Cornelia Jakobs from Sweden manages to complete the rehearsal without technical problems! The problems with the dark staging as she approaches the circular prop in the second verse persist, but she is vocally perfect and seems satisfied. Good applause from the audience. Winner of the semi-final?

Technical issues between Sweden and Czech Republic, Alessandro intervenes to save time.

Czech Republic

The award of the biggest applause by the audience goes to… Czech Republic! Audience cheers thoughout the whole performance. The lead singer of We Are Domi is excellent vocally, the staging is effective and there is no way we aren’t seeing Czech Republic in the final. What a finish!

The competing part ends and the hosts give the signal for lines opening.

Follows the first recap of the semi-finalists.

Interval Act

For the first time on stage, Laura Pausini and Mika join forces and sing together Sting’s “Fragile” and Patti Smith’s “People Have the Power“. A quite beautiful collaboration from our hosts.

We now see the second recap of the 18 semi-finalists. Then, the voting lines close.

Next interval act is that of Il Volo’s, who appear on stage, but without Gianluca, who is at home and on the screens. Il Volo achieved the 3rd place for Italy at Eurovision 2015.

Follows a video ”tribute” to previous Eurovision entries.

The hosts are supposed to interview now the representatives of Spain, United Kingdom and Germany, but they are missing during the rehearsal. Afterwards, clips of their performances are shown.

Which ones I think will qualify

Based on the rehearsal we just watched, I take it for granted that the following will qualify:

  • Finland
  • Serbia
  • Australia
  • Poland
  • Sweden
  • Czech Republic

Which will fight

The following will fight for the remaining 4 positions:

  • Israel
  • Azerbaijan
  • Malta
  • San Marino
  • Cyprus
  • Ireland
  • Romania
  • Montenegro

Which will be disqualify

These countries, either because of their appearance or because of their song, I find it very difficult for them to qualify:

  • Georgia
  • North Macedonia
  • Belgium

Results

The executive supervisor of the competition, Martin Osterdahl gives the green light for the announcement of the results.

We’re going to see random qualifiers with random order, for the sake of the rehearsal.

The qualified countries are:

  • Finland
  • Belgium
  • Cyprus
  • Australia
  • Montenegro
  • Malta
  • Sweden
  • North Macedonia
  • Serbia
  • Czech Republic

Eurovision 2022: The Jury Rehearsal of the 2nd Semifinal! (Updated)

After the completion of the 1st semifinal and the announcement of the qualified countries, now it is the turn of the countries of the 2nd semifinal. Tonight 18 extra countries are competing for the last 10 tickets leading to Saturday’s Grand Final.

Tonight,  50% of the total score will be determined and specifically the vote of the juries. Together we will comment on the appearances of all the participants in tonight’s show!

In the opening video we see one of the presenters of the show, Alessandro Cattelan, give us a special tour around the production and behind the scenes of the show, followed by a choreography.

Right after, we have the three presenters who come out on stage. And the show begins!

Finland

A very strong start to the Semifinal with the world-famous rock band The Rasmus. Yellow lighting and black balloons dominate the staging. At the same time, Lauri makes a very good appearance vocally. There does not seem to be any problem at the start of the Semifinal, the Finns give us from the beginning to understand that they are claiming the qualification for good!

Israel

Although many did not give much hope to Israel before the competition, Michael has come to change our minds here in Turin. It starts with mirrors at the beginning that reflect him, very strong dances while vocally Michael is nailing it. Tremendous energy from Israel, which raises the tension in the arena, as well as the competition in this Semifinal!

Serbia

Probably the most special participation this year, both due to the stage presence and the song itself. Konstrakta is awesome in her role and the audience participates in an impressive way. It is characteristic of the participation that subtitles for specific phrases of the song appear on the screens, another way to communicate the message. The choreography attracts the whole audience and we expect to see Serbia again on Saturday.

Azerbaijan

The Azeri ballad this year is based on the vocal abilities of the singer, which really impresses everyone. It’s a collaboration with another dancer, and the two are synchronized on the special construction that has been set up. Then this stage is divided by bringing the singer opposite the dancer. There was a small issue with a specific plan, which was skipped. We would really like to see azerbaijan on Saturday!

Georgia

Literally, the circus is in town. Circus Mircus bring a strong taste of a circus in the stage of Turin. The direction has nothing special and vocally the lead singer has no problems. It reminds us of Willy Wonka, but the qualification seems far away for Georgia this year.

Malta

Emma brings a more youthful air. Golden lighting and a piano on which Emma begins singing. Somewhat unstable vocally, perhaps, she tries to transfer her energy to the audience, something she achieves at the peak of the song along with the choreography. Overall, a full appearance from Malta that wants thequalification in the final. The battle has begun!

(A break with a video related to the music history of Italy and the Sanremo festival)

San Marino

San Marino is playing at home this year and this can be seen from the madness of the public for Achille Lauro. Describing the appearance as “bold” is not enough. Cages, furs, smokes and rock create an explosive combination, with Achille performing his own personal show. Pyros and fireworks are coming to peak the climate. Of course, our favorite bull is not missing. Just a panic in the arena! Will San Marino rock in the final too?

Australia

Sheldon is on a pedestal and behind him are two large stairs. Dressed in white and wearing the mask, he makes his appearance. Then he climbs the stairs, takes off his mask and conquers the TV shots. We believe that Australia will qualify, returning to the Grand Final!

Cyprus

Andromache is on the big prop of a shell like the two dancers. Orange and Blue lighting,  several vocal instabilities, the audience participates and enhances the participation. Maybe the vibes from the video clip did not pass so effectively on the Eurovision stage. We’ll see.

Ireland

A lot of pink for the Brooke who is dressed in turquoise. She starts the song lying down and then enters together with the dancers doing the choreography. Brooke gives her own show, along with the fireworks that accompany her. A girlish-cute appearance that may be the underdog that some are looking for, although the qualification still has a way to go.

North Macedonia

Andrea tries hard to support the song, but alone on stage and without any climax, she is far from approaching the competition. Andrea’s vocals are quite good, but the scene is very empty and it can be seen from most of the shots. Andrea is circling around the disqualification, we are moving on.

Estonia

Retro shots at the beginning, which, however, are not combined with the scene of the wild west prepared by the Estonians, due to the problems of the “sun”. Vocally starts a bit weak, but then he is as he should be. He enjoys it very much, Estonia is very likely togualify to Saturday as well.

Romania

Α dance participation this year from Romania and WRS. A lot of dance and golden lighting. However, here too there are permanent problems due to the immobility of the “sun”, as the scene in the back seems half and really very uncomfortable to anyone who observes it. Of course it is not the responsibility of the Romanians. WRS changes his costume, since the dancers tear his clothes apart, while the audience has a lot of fun. Maybe the train for Bucharest on Friday is not going to have WRS, since he is a strong qualifying candidate!

Poland

Ochman confronts his demons on stage. vocals are perfect although the effects used may surprise some viewers. Enough intensity and drama in the song as a whole, a very good and full performance from Poland, aiming high this year.

Montenegro

VVery blue and fairly low lighting. Vladana is quite stable vocally, perhaps one of the best performances here in Turin. Then she continues the song in Italian, raising the pulse of her song. We all take a deep breath for the qualification of Montenegro, which for many is quite doubtful.

Belgium

Dynamic song by Jeremy this year, based on golden lighting and plenty of space. Μaybe due to the pulse of the song we could see more. Despite a small vocal problem in the last part, Belgium is currently one of the countries we are expected to see again in the final.

Sweden

After the many technical problems that appeared in today’s dress rehearsal, Cornelia endures and returns to the stage. The vocal instabilities exist, as does the classic stage presence of the song. Fireworks, change of lighting and Sweden flies straight and relaxed to the final. Simple and Beautiful!

Czech Republic

The Czech Republic closes the 2nd semifinal by raising the pulse in the arena. Much improved vocally by Dominika  something that brings the song among the contenders for qualification. Really beautiful appearance from the Czechs, with intense alternation of lights and the audience seems to loves the song very much. We hope that the Czech Republic does not have the end of Austria!

(End of the competing part, the voting for the Juries has begun and we see the first recap)

Interval Act

For the first time on stage, Laura Pausini and Mika join forces and sing together Sting’s “Fragile” and Patti Smith’s “People Have the Power“. A quite beautiful collaboration from our hosts.

Τhe next big interval act is that of Il Volo‘s, who appear on stage, but without Gianluca, who is at home and on the screens. Ignazio and Piero sing their tremendous success from Eurovision 2015 Grand Amore, in English. Huuge love from the audience (and us) and we all shudder to hear this song once again on the Eurovision stage after 7 years!

Big 5

Spain

Spain has come this year with many ambitions and they stand out from the stage presence of Chanel. The change in melody at the beginning of the song has come to stay. Very strong choreography, Chanel is a star and wants to lead Spain to high positions this year!

United Kingdom

Really all this lighting is like being on a spaceship. Sam’s voice is one of the best voices in the competition this year and he proves it in every perofrmance (and in his TikTok). The United Kingdom returns dynamicallyand will be “launched” in a Top-10 spot this year.

Germany

Final, for today Malik Harris with Rockstars, Much passion in his appearance, many instruments on stage and quite a beautiful presence. It looked better than we expected and will probably not end up at the bottom of the table, but he will definitely be on the right side of the board in the final.

Which ones I think will qualify

Personal Opinion always:

Based on the rehearsal we just watched, I take it for granted that the following will qualify:

  • Sweden
  • Poland
  • Australia
  • Serbia
  • Czech Republic
  • Finland
  • Azerbaijan

Which will fight

The following will fight for the remaining 3 positions:

  • San Marino
  • Estonia
  • Romania
  • Montenegro
  • Malta

Which will be disqualify

These countries, either because of their appearance or because of their song, I find it very difficult for them to qualify:

  • Belgium
  • Israel
  • Ireland
  • North Macedonia
  • Georgia
  • Cyprus

The executive supervisor of the competition, Martin Osterdahl gives the green light for the announcement of the results.

The qualified countries are:

  • Belgium
  • Azerbaijan
  • Georgia

  • Ireland
  • Estonia
  • Sweden
