Ninety minutes ago, the show of the Fifth Semi-Final of Melodifestivalen 2022, started off on SVT and SVT Play. And we have been watching the whole show, right from the arena of the venue and we are here to share the results of the night with you!

The four qualifiers are Anna Bergendahl, Tone Sekelius, Theoz and Cazzi Opeia and we will get to see them perform their songs live, on the 12th of March, when the finals will take place at Friends Arena.

Sweden: The betting odds, just a few moments before the Fifth Melodifestivalen 2022 Semi-Final results!

Melodifestivalen 2022 Fifth Semi-Final show will begin in a few moments, with the new competition and voting format in place and will be aired tonight at 20:00 CET on SVT and SVT Play. Eight contestants divided into two groups of four, will have to compete against each other tonight, in order to secure one of the last four places, as their ticket to the final show.

  • Alvaro Estrella – “Suave
  • Danne Stråhed – “Hallabaloo
  • Anna Bergendahl – “Higher Power

The odds

The betting odds depend on many factors and as these factors are subject to changes anytime, the odds can still fluctuate, even last minute. Currently, according to the betting odds, there seem to be four clear finalists and these are Anna Bergendahl and Tone Sekelius from Group A and Lisa Miskovsky and Cazzi Opeia from Group B.

The general rehearsal of the Second Chance Melodifestivalen 2022 Semi-Final has just started. EurovisionFun is at Friends Arena, in Stockholm and we are happy to be watching it live on-site. Sweden: The running order of the Second Chance Semi-Final of Melodifestivalen 2022 is revealed!

Earlier this noon, SVT conducted a draw, in order to allocate the eight contestants of the fifth semi-final into two groups of four.

The the running order of the two groups of contestants, of the second chance semi-final of Melodifestivalen 2022 was just revealed by SVT!

The running order is determined, each year, by the production team of Melodifestivalen, taking into consideration both the competing songs’ musical qualities as well as stage performance and other production considerations and can be seen below:

Group A

  • Tone Sekelius – “My Way
  • Alvaro Estrella – “Suave
  • Danne Stråhed – “Hallabaloo
  • Anna Bergendahl – “Higher Power

Group B

  • Theoz – “Som du vill
  • Lisa Miskovsky – “Best to Come
  • Lillasyster – “Till Our Days Are Over
  • Cazzi Opeia – “I Can’t Get Enough

The process

Two songs from each of the four semi-finals, directly qualified to the grand final of Melodifestivalen 2022, which will take place on the 12th of March. The songs that placed third and fourth will have to compete again, at the fifth semi-final, held on the 5th of March.

Oscar Zia presents all the shows of Melodifestivalen 2022, while due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the shows for the national selection process that will represent Sweden in Turin this year, will be held exclusively in Stockholm!

Melodifestivalen 2022 finals will he held on the 12th of March, when we will get to know who will be selected as a representative for Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin!

The detailed schedule of Melodifestivalen 2022 is described below:

  • First Semi-Final on the 5th of February, at the Avicii Arena
  • Second Semi-Final on the 12th of February, at the Avicii Arena
  • Third Semi-Final on the 19th of February, at the Avicii Arena
  • Fourth Semi-Final on the 26th of February, at Friends Arena
  • Fifth Semi-Final on the 5th of March, at Friends Arena

SVT just had just announced the two groups of four into which the eight Second Chance Semi-Final contestants of Melodifestivalen 2022 will compete, this Saturday March 5th! The two groups can be seen below:

Group B

Later this afternoon, SVT will reveal the running order of the artists in the above groups.

Sweden: SVT open for Melodifestivalen 2022 submissions, on the 27th of August 2021!

The public broadcaster of Sweden, SVT, called for new submissions for Melodifestivalen 2022, by publishing their latest Instagram post.

MF2022 Call for Submissions

National and International artists, that are interested in participating in the Swedish national selection show, for Eurovision 2022, are expected to make their submissions, starting from the 27th of August, up until the 17th of September 2021, 23:59 CEST, at this link: https://bidrag.melodifestivalen.se/

The 14 entries, out of a total of 28, will be selected, among the competition submissions, by a selection jury, whereas the remaining 14 entries will either be selected by SVT or will get specially invited by the broadcaster.

Melodifestivalen, takes place every year in Sweden in six cities around the country, with the exception of Melodifestivalen 2021 when all 6 shows, 4 semi-final rounds, the second chance round and the final, took place in Stockholm, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A bit more than a month ago, Sweden was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021, by Tusse with the song Voices.
