Brunette: “I’m putting a message up for those who struggle with mental health, in my song!” | Exclusive Interview

Brunette, the Armenian representative of Eurovision 2023 spoke exclusively at Eurovisionfun and Apostolis Matamis, all the way from LiverpoolUK in the heart of this year’s contest!

The interview took place at M&S Bank Arena, home of all the shows of this year and Brunette was really enthusiastic about what was going on there and expressed this from the very beginning of our interview with her:

“I’m doing great! I’m enjoying the performance, the city, the people, everything is great.”

We asked her about what was her inspiration to write “Future Lover” and she let us know that this song is all about panic attacks:

“I’m trying to put a message up for all those who struggle with mental health, as I used to struggle myself. That message is to be kind always and to treat yourself good, not only the others. That’s really important to me!”

But how did they decide to have an Armenian part into the song? Brunette let us know:

“My biggest wish was to put Armenian part into the song, when we were writing it, we really felt the energy that we needed to write in Armenian, so we did that!”

She felt so nice when she performed on stage and she added:

“When I got up on stage, that was a really magical moment for me! I was not so nervous.”

All her rehearsals up to now went smoothly! Maybe we will get to see a few changes, according to Brunette:

“We will make minor changes, like in the movements of my hands, camerawork, shots, everything is going great so far, I am proud of myself and my team as we did not have any issues so far!”

Would he collaborate with any of her fellow contestants of this year? Three contestants come to her mind instantly:

“On one of my past interviews, I had said Gustaph and I think he would accept it, but now I have to say Teya & Salena.”

Finally, she had a message for all the readers of Eurovisionfun!

“I am really thankful for the support and so excited, I love you guys.”

Victor Vernicos: “You will see a few new things from me, on my Second Semi-Final performance!” | Exclusive Interview

Victor Vernicos, the Greek representative of Eurovision 2023 spoke exclusively at Eurovisionfun and Apostolis Matamis, all the way from LiverpoolUK in the heart of this year’s contest!

The interview took place at Eurovillage, right after his performance on stage and he was really enthusiastic about this:

I absolutely loved it! I am ready for my semi final, everyday I’m loving the positive vibes of this city, the people are wonderful!

We asked him if he feels more comfortable performing and playing with his guitar at the same time.

The guitar is part of my body by now, but I am okay to perform without it!

It is a unique experience for someone to be able to represent ones country, especially if you’re a 16-year-old boy as Victor is. But what was the highlight of his experience?

Last night at Euroclub the energy was amazing while I was performing, now my cousins from Denmark also arrived in Liverpool to watch me on my semi final and that made me very happy!

On his socials, he had joked about him bringing the sun wherever he goes. On the day of the interview he was being dead serious about this:

“It’s a fact that one time that we went to Denmark with my mother it was the best summer in 40 years, and then best winter in 25 years! My mother, my family, me and the Greek delegation, we all bring the sun!”

On the negative comments about his participation, he mentioned that he pays no attention to anything like that and he added:

“I mostly give out to my fans, I upload stuff on my socials, but I don’t take in any negative energy or bad comments on me or my performance. I have found my inner balance!”

When we mentioned that the press appreciates his song a lot, he was really grateful for that and he also responded on the comments of British press that his accent is very British:

“I used to go to a British school, then American, I also have the Danish genes from my dad. That’s why I think that my accent is a mix of American, British and Danish!”

Is Victor ready to perform Thursday night on the second semi-final show? He comments:

“I’m ready, I just need to rest a bit, because I sing a lot and I go to the parties that all delegations attend.”

When we asked him if his team and himself intend to make any changes on the staging or his performance he said:

“You will see a few new things from me, it’s gonna be a surprise for you all!”

Finally, Victor has a message for all the readers of Eurovisionfun:

“I love you! We are ready! We need your support! All I need is your positive energy, if I got this, then it will reflect in the results!”

Finally you can watch his Eurovillage performance of his entry “What they say” below:

Loreen: “We need to recreate the staging in Liverpool, it’s really important for my audience!” | Exclusive Interview

Eurovision 2012 winner, and this year’s Swedish representative at the Eurovision contest Loreen spoke exclusively at Eurovisionfun and Andreas Papagiannakis, all the way Liverpool, UK in the heart of this year’s contest!

Loreen sings “Until we meet again, cause this is not the end” and after all, it wasn’t the last time we’d talk to Loreen on March 11th, when she won the ticket to Liverpool, beating superstar duo Marcus & Martinus at Melodifestivalen 2023.

When asked if she is ready for her potential second win, second double (Johnny Logan, “What’s Another Year” – 1980 and “Hold Me Now” – 1987) and first double ever for a woman she told us:

“I’m not ready! I’m too focused! The only thing I’m ready for, that I’ve worked for, is to perform for all of you! And that’s exactly what I’m looking forward to and that’s what I’m focused on!”

Did she get stressed out by all the uncertainty caused by the staging restrictions of EBU, that didn’t allow her to have the exact same double LED screen (smörgåsgrillen, as I’ve called it) hanging from the Friends Arena ceiling at the Melodifestivalen final?

“We tried too hard to bring the same feeling on stage in Liverpool, if not what you call a sandwich toaster *laughs* at least a smaller version of it. I didn’t leave it up to my team, I always like to have a say and be 100% involved in solving problems that may come up!”

Eleven years after “Euphoria“, she believes that this year’s entry “Tattoo” will have the same impact in the audience;

“I don’t know at all, you are asking me this question but this is something I cannot control. What I do know is that I am trying my best to make something really beautiful for you!”

We challenged her to speak Greek to us and the only word she could think of was “souvlaki“, and then she added:

“A few days ago I was watching a video of a Greek dance, what’s it called? No, it’s not syrtaki! Tsifteteli I think, yes tsifteteli! I will learn to dance the tsifteteli! So when I meet you again we’ll dance together tsifteteli!”

She asked us and of course we taught her how to say “I love you, you are everything to me“! She can’t wait to see us, her audience, while she’s on stage:

“I am looking forward to seeing you all! I see literally all of you! I saw you in front of the Melodifestivalen stage in the finals too, that’s why I did that signal that I saw you before I started performing! That’s really my favorite moment before I start singing, to connect with all of you!”

Loreen remains the favorite to win, although she has seen her odds grow since the end of the rehearsals and Finland closing in dangerously close to her.

Sweden competes in the 11th place in the 1st Semi-Final on Tuesday 9 May.

Stay tuned to Eurovisionfun for all the updates!
