The Show

The show has started and we are watching a recap from everything that happened in Tuesday night with the First Semi-Final. The three female presenters are on stage and welcome everyone on the show again! The explain the voting system, the united vibe between Ukraine and United Kingdom and within the first five minutes the show begins!

The Competing Countries – LIVE COMMENTARY

Denmark: Reiley – Breaking My Heart

Reiley is dressed in pink inside a prop that looks like a house. The prop rotates in different rooms with different colour but the performance is based in pink. In the middle of the perfomance, Reiley walks to the second stage and the led wall becomes in lime colours with a lot of white shaped hearts. Reiley seems to be vocally weak and annoying enough with the backing autotuned vocal.

Armenia: Brunette – Future Lover

This act starts with Brunnete laying in a inclined plane in pink and purple colors. Then in the rap part the lights become in black and white. After the rap part, THERE IS A DANCE BREAK EVERYONE!!!! The goosebumps I got from this performance. She literally KILLED IT. She was vocally on point and she will qualify for sure. Congratulations Armenia!

Romania: Theodor Andrei – D.G.T (Off And On)

Theodor is charismatic and a great performer but the song ain’t it… sadly the entire performance and staging, with distasteful led content and awkward choreography from Theodor and his dancer, seems very amateurish. Romania will be lucky if they avoid the absolute last place of this Semi-Final.

Estonia: Alika – Bridges

The performance begins with Alike sitting in a piano, the croud has their flashlights open, the song become even more intense and dramatic when she singer elevates her vocals even more. The staging is based in blue and white colours, matching her dress.

Belgium: Gustaph – Because Of You

Without any doubt, Gustaph carries on the performance with his vocals allong with the backing singers and a dancer doing voguing. Gustaph gives the show some much needed energy, with his 90s themed song. The LED are like the videoclip, some shadows dancing on the rhythm of the song and also him on the outfit of the video clip. A very energetic performance!

First Break

Cyprus: Andrew Lambrou – Break A Broken Heart

The performance starts with Andrew being alone in a blue LED scene,it reminds me of the water element. He looks good dressed in black and vocally good. In the first chorus we see a waterfall behind him and towards the end it becomes a huge flame with many fire jets. The whole performance is based on the nature elements. An easy qualification for Cyprus.

Iceland: Diljá – Power

A very energetic and hyperactive perfocmance from the Icelandic singer. Vocally was a bit off and the performance feels completely all over the place, with the young singer doing unnecessary acrobatics and coming off rather aggresive. The camera shots aren’t great, making the viewer feel dizzy and overall quite bored, if not annoyed.

Greece: Victor Vernicos – What They Say

The younger artists takes the stages with a emotional and dynamic ballad reminding us that we need to be ourselves. He is very improved vocally, compered to his previous attempts. The beginning of the performance, with him laying on the floor is very interesting visually but the rest of the staging is quite messy. Victor is not bouncing a lot so vocally was more stable and he seems like he enjoyed it a lot! Maybe he could sneak into the final but I’m not so sure…

Poland: Blanka – Solo

It’s time for our BEJBA! The biggest suprise of the rehearsals.  The dance break is nice, she seems confident and there’s no blur effect BUT the whole performance give the vibe of last year’s Poland with the SFX effects and it’s not really good. The Blanka hologram doesn’t seem real at all. Vocally is so improved and I enjoyed the whole performance. Europe will vote for this for sure!

Slovenia: Joker Out – Carpe Diem

The charismatic band is on stage… the audience gives the pulse, elevating the performace in the 150%. They really own the stage and the croud seemed to love this! The seem confident and cool with their 80s style of clothing. The singer is vocally just like the recorded version and the whole lights are red. In the end, the members of the group, bowed towards the crowd and we see a huge “Joker Out” in the LED. They are fighting for the first place in this semi-final.

Georgia: Iru – Echo

Iru is standing in a small platform the whole perfomace wearing a white dress with silver jewels. ED behind her are dark and in the end everything become brighter. A wind machine is helping her to serve a very dramatic look. A very statc performance and vocally was bit off, seemed annoying.

Second Break

San Marino: Piqued Jacks – Like An Animal

The show starts with a huge mouth in the LED. In generall, the LED is in red shades in the whole performance. The singer is vocally on point and the staging is decent but the song by it’s self is really repetitive and weak to make it through.

Austria: Teya & Salena – Who The Hell Is Edgar?

It’s time for the favourites of this semi-final.  The croud is clapping and singing in Poe Poe rhythms in the whole performance. Visualy this performance is amaizng in black and red colors but the singers are very static. Both of them are on point and everyne enjoyed it! The biggest clap in the show.

Albania: Albina & Familja Kelmendi – Duje

The outsiders of this semi-final are on stage with Albina giviving everything vocally and the croud cheering her. Also this performance is based in black and red colors like the Albanian flag. A very emotional performance and the whole family are giving a great show! This definetely stands out as the only ethnic song and is performed professionaly but perhaps has a very limited audience. I hope Europe will see the potential of this song and manages to qualify.

Lithuania: Monika Linkyte – Stay

Reaching almost at the end of the contest part, Monika Linkyte delivers a vocally powerful and visually pleasing, warm performance, accompanied by her backing vocalists. They manage to create a beautiful atmosphere that the audience seems to enjoy. She made the croud to sing with her and it was a very good feeling and for us from home (*screams* CIUTO TUTO FINALLY MY HEART IS BEATING).

Australia: Voyager – Promise

This song is not my cup of tea BUT vocally the front man was very good! Excellent staging with 80s vaporwave vibes and a car on stage. The arena loves them, as they deliver an excellent performance, full of energy, that is guaranteed to qualify tomorrow night. A great way to close the show!

Certain Qualifiers

Armenia

Belgium

Cyprus

Poland

Slovenia

Austria

Albania

Lithuania

Australia

Borderline Qualifiers

Estonia

Greece

Georgia

Non Qualifiers

Denmark

Romania

Iceland

San Marino

Ukrainian singers Mariya Yaremchuk, Otoy and Zlata Dziunka perform a medley of Ukrainian songs. Then we watch another recap and get ready for lines to close.

Three drag queens take the place of the presenters and perform “Be Who You Wanna Be”.

Mans Zelmerlow and Filomena return with the “game” of guessing which countries they have or have not qualified in the past.

Big 5 and Ukraine

We will be watching a small clip from the rehearsal of those countries, down bellow you will find my comments.

Spain: Blanca Paloma – EaEa

A very similar to the national selection perfomance with Blanca serving vocals once again. During her perfomance we see a light hitting her hand and the backing vocals screaming her name. A very impacful perfomance.

Ukraine: TVORCHI – Heart Of Steel

Ukrainians show once again that they are the masters of staging at Eurovision. TVORVHI probably have the most sleek, stylish and modern performance of the year. It starts a bit low energy but that is quickly fixed, when pyro jets join the show. Great act but the song is probably a bit forgettable. Of course, Ukraine’s result is maybe the biggest mystery of the year, as we don’t know how the sympathy and diaspora votes will impact their score.

United Kingdom: Mae Muller – I Wrote A Song

Mae Muller will close Saturday’s Grand Final with a fun and upbeat number, staged cleverly with colorful pop art vibes. Her vocals however are perhaps the worst in this year’s contest and completely destroy the act. She’s struggling to hit the notes and looks uncomfortable, which means United Kingdom could be returning to the bottom of the scoreboard.

The Results

Martin Osterdahl executive producer of Eurovision Song Contest 2022, declares that he is happy to see that we now have a valid result!

The ten countries that (virtually) qualified for the purposes of the rehearsal were the following:

Greece, Denmark, Romania, Georgia, Australia, Albania, Austria, San Marino, Poland and finally Slovenia

Eurovision 2022: The Family Show Of The Grand Final! (Updated)

The big day is finally here and the Grand Final is taking place at the PalaOlimpico. The family show of the final has just started! It is addressed, as the title says, to families. Αll entries will once again perform their song, with the show being used more as a warm-up, a final rehearsal for minor corrections before the TV show, tonight!

We are at the press center and will bring you live everything that happens here in real time. We remind you that the jury rehearsal took place yesterday, with 50% of the total score having already been judged. Stay tuned to EurovisionFun for the family show.

The show

The program begins with a large group of people singing “Give peace a chance“! Then we see Mika and Alessandro Cattelan on stage and Laura Pausini songs are performed accompanied by a percussion group.

The parade of countries follows!

Then the presenters of the night appear  and give us all the details about the night that will follow and the voting process.

Czech Republic

We are Domi and “Lights off“  opens the grand final with an energetic performance. We can tell that the singer is  holding back a bit so she can be 100% on point for the final show today! Apart from that, the stage looks great and they can bring a decent result on the final today!

Romania

WRS is bringing the heat on the Eurovision stage this year! For many it came as a surprise that he advanced to the final but he delivers a great performance on stage with not as much differences from what we saw on the 2nd semi-final!

Portugal

Third act for today is MARO with an atmospheric perfomance! Vocally is great and she receives a big applause from the audience in the middle of the song!

Finland

After the soft and calm performance of Portugal, The Rasmus are rocking the stage with a great show! We don’t any differences from the semi final and Lauri delivers good vocals for one more time! The arena seems to love “Jezebel” as they sing a long and they received big applause!

Switzerland

Next up on the stage is Marius Bear with an emotional performance. He delivers great vocals but is hard for him to surprise the audience and have a good result on the grand final!

France

A song that the press center and the crowd on the arena  love and may have a great chance have a good results on tonight show! The staging is beautiful, the vocals on point and France can be the surprise of Grand Final!

Norway

From evocative and mysterious France we go to a party rhythm. Also a participation that can stand out both due to appearance and due to dancing.

Armenia

After the party song of the wolves of Norway we continue with a snap! Armenia delivers good vocals and she really seems to enjoy her performance! The arena claps along the whole song but the running order might be a hard place for her to shine on tonight’s show.

BREAK

Mika and “Laura” show us some shots from the semifinals. Then the presenters are in the green room and talking to us about the plants that surround it.

Italy

The Italian duo are doing an amazing job and they seem like they are back for another great result for Ιtaly! The vocals were improved and the arena went crazy!

Spain

One of the fan favourite to win the show is coming to the stage to bring the party back! Chanel did not gave the energy we know she can deliver and we are sure that tonight can be a great night for Spain after many years!

The Netherland

S10 managed to impress the audience with another captivating performance! She was great vocally but will this be enough after Spain and before Ukraine performances?

Ukraine

The booking favourite to win this year edition is making a great rehearsal with good energy and the receive a big applause from the audience inside the arena!

Germany

One of the calmest entries of this year is undoubtedly that of Germany, with Malik Harris being excellent vocally, but with a weak song. For another year, Germany seems to be heading for the bottom of the standings. Another “bell” for the leaders of the German radio and television, the most powerful in the Old Continent.

Lithuania

Lithuania’s turn to take the stage, with Monika appearing in a different dress compared to the semifinals. It will be difficult, however, to see the maintenance of this dress in the evening show as well. A song with an atmospheric character that is unlikely to be supported by the average Lithuanian viewer. Particularly probable is the end of the last ten of this year’s competition.

Azerbaijan

Next on stage comes the clipped Nadir, who once again is to the point vocally. His voice led him so far and his voice will lead him until two in the evening and the announcement of the final results. Most likely to end up in the top ten.

Belgium

One of the qualifiers-surprises of this year’s competition is Belgium, which many expected to be left out of the final. Nevertheless, Belgium is here, it will compete in the grand final and most likely end up in places 16-25. Moderate response from spectators inside the stadium.

There is a break between Belgium and Greece with Mika and Laura Pausini promoting the official Eurovision 2022 CD and at the same time snapshots from the two semifinals are shown.

Greece

The last rehearsal of Greece before the grand final tonight is next. Amanda once again gives her best, more focused than ever on her goal. Everything went perfectly, with the audience singing with her at the peak of the song in the finale. No special differences compared to the previous days and with the audience adoring Amanda.

Iceland

Greece is followed by one of the surprises of this year’s final, Iceland. A country ballad, which, however, is dug by its presence between our country and Moldova. Their presence is almost certain between 18 and 25.

Moldova

The whole stage on foot for Moldova, which is one of the biggest winners of recent days. A participation that has stood out due to its diversity and its ethnic elements that are so much missing from the grand final. Their impact on the public at night is certain, it remains to be seen what the opinion of the juries will be.

Sweden

The series now has one of the big favorites of this year’s competition, Sweden. Cornelia Jakobs once again raises the crowds at PalaOlimpico, being determined to bring the best possible result for Sweden. Once again in the finale of the song she brings out a crown, which did not exist until yesterday in her appearances.

Australia

Sheldon performs “Not the same” perfectly once again. First male ballad in a series that follows, but the overall result was breath-taking!

The presenters are in the green room and talking to various representatives.

United Kingdom

Probably the best male voice of the year. Another favorite for this year with an epic setting on stage and a performance that is simply riveting, especially towards the end of the song with the guitar. A very warm reaction from the audience. This song will probably do very well, especially on the juries.

Poland

Third consecutive male ballad and another very good interpretation. Will all three ballads go equally well?

Serbia

Konstrakta may be one of the biggest surprises from this edition of Eurovision! She delivers a great performance and she will definitely be high on the televote on tonight’s show!

Estonia

Last act from the final is Stefan with “Hope”! He seems to enjoy his time on the stage and the audience love the performance!

The three presenters tell us how we can vote for our favorite songs and see the tab with the phones.

Voting begins!

First recap of the songs.

Interval Act

We are now ready for the interval act of the final. The Maneskin (to be precise their replacements) appear on stage and perform their new song, supermodel (in this rehearsal we only hear the music). Alessandro Cattelan then invites them to the stage where he asks them about their experiences after their victory and then they perform their new song from the movie Elvis that will be released in June.

Laura Pausini then introduces Gigliola Cinquetti, winner of the 1964 Eurovision Song Contest.

Last but not least, Mika makes an appearance on the stage to perform his greatest hits!

Then countdown to closing telephone lines!

Voting begins with the juries. Then the televoting points are added.

Eurovision 2022: The Family Show Of The 2nd Semi-final! (Updated)

Another big day with the 2nd Semifinal taking place at the PalaOlimpico. The family show of the 2nd semi-final will begin soon!

In the opening video we see one of the presenters of the show, Alessandro Cattelan, give us a special tour around the production and behind the scenes of the show, followed by a choreography.

Before the competing part begins, the hosts of the show describe the voting process. It’s time to start!

Finland

Finland with The Rasmus and the song Jezebel is a great starter for the second semi-final! With their energetic performance, the Rasmus surely manage to wake up the crowd! Lauri, the singer of the band, struggles vocally. The pre-recorded vocal of crowd singing Jezebel just before the last chorus kicks in adds on a lot to the performance! A sure qualifier.

Israel

Michael Ben David gives everything during his performance. Great choreography, excellent vocals, even better camera angles! The crowd goes wild. Most have ruled out Israel’s qualification for the Grand Final, but with this performance Michael actually has many chances of going through.

Serbia

One of this years’ potential dark horses. A great performance from Serbia and Konstrakta. The staging doesn’t have much difference from the national selection one. Effective, captivating and an easy to remember entry. A sure qualifier as well.

Azerbaijan

The song itself doesn’t say much, but the staging is out of this world! Flawless vocals from Nadir and impressive changes during the entry. As the song builds up, the lighting turns to red and black as the stairs split up into 2 parts. This must qualify.

Georgia

Georgia is probably the most surprising country speaking of Eurovision entries, you can never predict what they are going to send next! Unfortunately, this year neither the song convinces, nor the staging. This seems too tacky and immoderate. I can’t see this going through, especially from this hard semi-final.

Malta

A genuine pop song from Malta and Emma Muscat. She is vocally impressive and has fun on stage, which is passing to the viewer! The audience seems divided and doesn’t cheer up that much. I’m not sure if this will qualify, but has chances!

Break

Follows a video related to the music history of Italy and the Sanremo festival.

Alessandro learns how to cheer up the crowd by Mika. Laura Pausini interferes to the conversation and shows how it is really done!

San Marino

One of the most suprising acts of the semi-final! San Marino, even though having a mediocre song, literally burns the stage! Achille knows how to perform and this becomes translated on massive support by the audience. The kiss isn’t given this time. San Marino is once again in the rally for a spot in the Grand Final.

A very small intervention by the hosts follows.

Australia

An excellent performance by Sheldon Riley for Australia, as we are used to. Atmospheric, beautiful, outstanding. Sheldon serves vocally, there isn’t any way Australia didn’t come up to Top 3 with this performance during the jury voting last night. Sure qualifier.

We now see a small video of ‘Coming Up’ and Alessandro introduces Cyprus.

Cyprus

Beautiful Andromache with the song Ela for Cyprus comes on stage. The audience loves this and is cheerful thoughout the performance. Andromache struggles vocally once again. One of the second semi-final question marks.

Ireland

Probably the biggest applause did Ireland and Brooke receive during the beginning of the act. Brooke serving some cool choreo and vocals. She has also changed her hairstyle to straight, not sure if it is just for the rehearsal. She is boosted with confidence and she will also fight for one qualification spot tonight.

North Macedonia

A quite simple staging from North Macedonia, not much going on. Andrea tries to pass through her feelings, but something doesn’t fit in. Cool change in the stage colour during the last chorus. Audience is quiet, even after the end of her performance. I don’t see this qualifying.

Estonia

Another simple staging from Estonia. STEFAN successfully brings and supports the western style at Eurovision. He is vocally strong and audience has fun with this. A safe spot for Estonia to the final.

Break

Follows a video that addresses life and the beauty of our reality.

Romania

An energetic performance from WRS, who will try tonight to break Romania’s NQ streak. With red-orange the main colors of the staging and a surprising dress change, Romania can also qualify to Saturday’s Grand Final.

Poland

Ochman and Poland with the song River and the talk-of-the-town effects during the second chorus, will fight for the win of the semi-final. Ochman is vocally flawless and the performance is interesting as well, will grab some more televoting points.

Montenegro

Montenegro returns to the contest with Vladana. A decent staging for a balkan ballad, with interesting lights on the dress and good enough vocals. Great camera angles towards the end of the act. Feels a bit bland at the end, I don’t think she will have the back of the televoting. Juries might have saved her.

Belgium

One of the most weak run-throughs vocally for Jeremie from Belgium. The song itself was considered a borderline before the rehearsals, but the bland staging featuring good but ordinary choreo and the many clinkers won’t help. I don’t see this qualifying.

Sweden

Cornelia Jakobs from Sweden manages to complete the rehearsal without technical problems! The problems with the dark staging as she approaches the circular prop in the second verse persist, but she is vocally perfect and seems satisfied. Good applause from the audience. Winner of the semi-final?

Technical issues between Sweden and Czech Republic, Alessandro intervenes to save time.

Czech Republic

The award of the biggest applause by the audience goes to… Czech Republic! Audience cheers thoughout the whole performance. The lead singer of We Are Domi is excellent vocally, the staging is effective and there is no way we aren’t seeing Czech Republic in the final. What a finish!

The competing part ends and the hosts give the signal for lines opening.

Follows the first recap of the semi-finalists.

Interval Act

For the first time on stage, Laura Pausini and Mika join forces and sing together Sting’s “Fragile” and Patti Smith’s “People Have the Power“. A quite beautiful collaboration from our hosts.

We now see the second recap of the 18 semi-finalists. Then, the voting lines close.

Next interval act is that of Il Volo’s, who appear on stage, but without Gianluca, who is at home and on the screens. Il Volo achieved the 3rd place for Italy at Eurovision 2015.

Follows a video ”tribute” to previous Eurovision entries.

The hosts are supposed to interview now the representatives of Spain, United Kingdom and Germany, but they are missing during the rehearsal. Afterwards, clips of their performances are shown.

Which ones I think will qualify

Based on the rehearsal we just watched, I take it for granted that the following will qualify:

  • Finland
  • Serbia
  • Australia
  • Poland
  • Sweden
  • Czech Republic

Which will fight

The following will fight for the remaining 4 positions:

  • Israel
  • Azerbaijan
  • Malta
  • San Marino
  • Cyprus
  • Ireland
  • Romania
  • Montenegro

Which will be disqualify

These countries, either because of their appearance or because of their song, I find it very difficult for them to qualify:

  • Georgia
  • North Macedonia
  • Belgium

Results

The executive supervisor of the competition, Martin Osterdahl gives the green light for the announcement of the results.

We’re going to see random qualifiers with random order, for the sake of the rehearsal.

The qualified countries are:

  • Finland
  • Belgium
  • Cyprus
  • Australia
  • Montenegro
  • Malta
  • Sweden
  • North Macedonia
  • Serbia
  • Czech Republic

Eurovision 2022: The Family Show of the 1st Semifinal! (Updated)

Big day tonight in Turin with the 1st Semifinal taking place, here at the PalaOlimpico. Together we will comment on the family show that takes place every year before a TV show and is addressed, as the title says, to families.

The article is updated:

The semifinal begins with a video while, Leo the drone, arrives at the Pala Olimpico after touring in Turin. Leo comes on to the stage. We see a toy with lights and leds, while listening to Maneskin’s Zitti e Buoni.

Time to welcome our three presenters on stage Laura PausiniAlessandro Cattelan and Mika! Mika is casual dressed as it’s a rehearsal. Before the competing part begins, the hosts of the show describe the voting process. The Eurovision Song Contest – Family Show Edition has begun!

Albania

A similar appearance from Ronela without particular problems. She wears the pink dress she had in the previous rehearsals, while the choreography does not have any changes. Minor vocal problems that are corrected immediately. A rehearsal without any particular problems for Albania.

Latvia

City Zeni give a colorful image to the arena, with their costumes, the lighting and of course with the energy they bring. Everything looks ready for Latvia for today’s semifinal. We hope no pants are torn again.

Lithuania

Monica on stage alone as we are used to, while in many shots we see her double on the screen. Problems with the Italian scene may cost in Lithuania. If she manages to qualify, the qualification is due to Monica herself and her talent.

Switzerland

Marius looks comfortable on stage, low lights here, while he even attempting some successful different vocals. Sacha Jean-Baptiste’s stamp is obvious in the choreography performed by Marius. Switzerland is also claiming a ticket for Saturday’s final.

Slovenia

The young band brings disco sounds to the stage and this time everyone seems to enjoy it more than ever! Admittedly, the song does not have much hope for qualification but the happiest mood of the band certainly raises ours too. They took our LastPizzaSlice!

Ukraine

The most known participation of this year’s competition is of course the Ukrainian one.  Kalush Orchestra  are having fun participating with the climax of the song creating a moving atmosphere in the arena. Loud applause from all those present, a dynamic support of the participation is expected in the evening.

Bulgaria

Like yesterday, the Bulgarian band gives an excellent performance with the lead singer singer Ronnie Romero being impeccable in his vocals. Beautiful direction, fires and golden lighting culminate in the song and Bulgaria demands the qualification. Will they take it?

The Netherlands

S10 comfortable now on stage performs a very beautiful song and she is gorgeous. The direction is based on low lighting and a base where s10 stands. No problems at all, they can already  think about Saturday’s final!

Moldova

And yet “Zdob şi Zdub & Advahov Brothers” create a very interesting combination of folklore rock and roll. The singer’s sunglasses make you laugh and sing with them throughout the song. For many, Moldova had no hope of qualifying, but now the route Chisinau – Bucharest – Final is possible!

Portugal

A small delay before the start of the participation, we do not know at the moment if it was a rehearsal of the presenters for such an occasion. Maro, however, is a calm force in the competition. The public is asked to turn on the flashlights of their mobile phones to create a “Saudade” feeling.

Croatia

Another sweet presence this year is that of Croatia. Mia seems to have overcome the technical problems of the first rehearsals. We see a choreography on the stage that tells the story of Mia. Croatian lyrics sounds beautiful, to be honest. Is it enough, though, to get to the final?

Denmark

Colorful appearance from Denmark as well. The band performs the song without any problem. The direction is based on the quick alternation of lighting giving a rock feeling. Τhe girls enjoy it and for many it is a participation that also has its own chances of qualifying. We’ll see!

Austria

Αustria is a roller coaster this year. The duo is in a ring of light, red and white lighting everywhere.  A very strong finish for the Mia and Lum!x with pyros. It is worth rewarding the effort of Pia in the vocals which are improving. While a popular participation in the beginning, Austria needs to perform well tonight.

Iceland

You feel like you are being transported to the places of Iceland but instead of listening to “Ja Ja Ding Dong”, the three girls sing melodic. The shots work flawlessly and the golden lighting dominates. Iceland states present!

Greece

Dreamy appearance from Greece, with Amanda to communicate the drama to the viewers . The change of plans from yesterday remains but there was the spotlight at the start, which due to a mistake of the hosts was not activated yesterday. Amanda is impeccably vocal, even better than yesterday and looks ready for tonight’s show. Greece is aiming high this year!

Norway

The wolves steal the show and their choreography keeps you going until the end. No vocal issues, they never had. Great staging, the fireworks are just the icing on the cake for a song that we will see on Saturday for sure!

Armenia

The Semifinal closes with Rosa Linn in her room slowly pulling of the post-it notes in the walls and the messages appear. In the end, she throws the wall and she is in front of the audience to perform the song very nicely. And with a snap, the competitive part of the Semifinal ends.

Benny Benassi and Sophie & The Giants (Interval Act)

“The Dance of Beauty” will be another interval act for this semi final, when Pala Olimpico will be trasnformed into a giant disco by Dardust, Benny Benassi and Sophie & The Giants, who complete the line-up of interval act artists.

Starting of with a DJ set by Benni Benassi, global-megastar DJ, but even his act is affected by the mechanical difficulties of the stage! But who can forget “Satisfaction“, or who hasn’t ever danced to that sick beat? Lots of dancers on stage and then Sophie and the Giants take over the stage and duo with Benni performing their single “Golden Nights“!

After the end of the first interval act, the hosts come back on stage and pay tribute to Raffaella Carrà by playing and singing along to the song “Fiesta“, who sadly died last year on July 5th.

Then we have another recap of all the competing songs and their respective voting numbers, after Benny Benassi and Sophie & The Giants leave the stage!

Counting down towards the end of the voting window, the three hosts of the show ask the public to “stop voting now”, giving way to Diodato!

Diodato (Interval Act)

It is worth noting that finally Diodato will get his chance to sing the 2020 Italian entry “Fai Rumore”, in his home country, two years after he was selected as the Italian representative for the 65th cancelled Eurovision Song Contest. “The Dance of Beauty” will be another interval act for this semi final, when Pala Olimpico will be trasnformed into a giant disco by Dardust, Benny Benassi and Sophie & The Giants, who complete the line-up of interval act artists.

He appears on stage playing the piano, singing to this sentimental ballad, dancers appear behind his back while he sings at the piano. After the first chorus of the song, he gets up and then we see him going around dancers that stand still on stage. They start moving to contemporary dance moves, as soon as Diodato gets into the second chorus of the song! Goosebumps!

Plus, now the sun does move! Impressive! Sad we can’t see that during the several performances of each country!
