The rules for Festivali i Këngës 63 have been published!

RTHS has revealed the rules for the 63rd edition of Festivali i Këngës, which will decide who will represent Albania in Eurovision 2025.

The contest rules for the next Festival are available on RTHS’s website.  According to the approved guidelines for the 2024 edition of Festivali i Këngës

18 contestants will participate at Festivali i Këngës 63.  The winner will be determined by a combination of jury and public vote.

Festivali i Këngës 63

The 63rd edition of Festivali i Këngës will consist of 4 nights.  30 artists will compete in the first three nights: 15 artists will perform in the first night and the remaining 15 on the second night.  The artists will be divided in two categories: debuting and non-debuting.  At the end of each night, the results from the public and the jury will be published.

During the third night, the 30 competing acts will perform once again for the “Nostalgia Night”.  At the end of the night the 18 qualifiers will be revealed.

The final will take place on the fourth night.  The jury will award the first, second and third place as well as the best lyrics and critic’s award.

The Albanese representative for Eurovision 2025 will be determined by televoting and jury voting.  However, the rules did not specify how each of the voting will affect the final result.

Albania: The submission window for Festivali i Këngës is now open!

Elhaida Dani, artistic director of Festivali i Këngës, through an instagram post, invites interested artists to send their proposals from today, September 27 to September 29 for Festivali i Këngës, through which the song that will represent Albania in the 69th Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Basel next May will be selected.

Thus, we will soon have a glimpse of the artists’ proposals that will compete to win the first place at the 63rd Festivali i Këngës and represent Albania at the next Eurovision.

The announcement of the contestants is expected to be made on 10 October.

Albania: Submissions for the 62nd Festivali i Këngës are officially open!

Today marked the start of the 62nd Festivali i Këngës entry period, which will, as usual, take place in December.

The Albanian broadcaster RTSH opened the submissions window today.   As anticipated, the Balkan nation will once more select its artist through the popular festival, which has been utilized as a selection method since the country’s debut almost 20 years ago. Those interested shall send their submissions on the following email address: festivali62@rtsh.al.  The announcement, however, did not specify a deadline.

In only a few months we will find out who will be the successor of Albina and Familja Kelmendi. Will Albania be able to surpass their 22nd-place finish from the previous year? The new Eurovision season has officially kicked off!

Albania: The participants of Festivali i Këngës 61 are announced!

A few moments ago, the Albanian broadcaster announced through their website, the twenty-six participants who will participate in Festivali i Këngës 61. 22 soloists and 4 groups have been selected by the jury to compete in the competition, from which the winner will represent Albania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.

Albania’s radio broadcaster, RTSH, has not yet announced when Festivali i Këngës 61 will take place. The competition is traditionally held in mid-December.

The participants of Festivali i Këngës 61 and the titles of their songs are as follows:

  2. Alban Kondi & Lorela Karoshi – “Melodi”
  3. Albina Kelmendi – “Duje”
  4. Anduel Kovaçi – “Malli”
  5. Aris Bako – “Sonte dua të jem me ty”

  7. Elisa Lila – “Evita”
  8. Enxhi Nasufi – “Burrë”
  9. Erma Mici – “Kozmosi i dashurisë”
  10. Evi Reçi – “Ma kthe”
  11. Fabian Basha – “Një gotë”
  12. Fifi (Filloreta Raçi) – “Stop”
  13. Franc Koruni – “Në pritje”
  14. Genti Hoxha – “Ajër”

Last year’s winner was Ronela Hajati with “Sekret“, who did not make it past the semi-final as she finished 12th with 58 points.
