Eurovision 2022: Moldova’s Second Rehearsal!

Coming up is Moldova with Zdob şi Zdub & Advahov Brothers with their song ‘Trenuleţul’. Moldova brought its big train energy to the Eurovision stage during their first rehearsal. The staging features full neon on the lighting and the graphics, and there are even a couple of little dance routines in the chorus. It’s about a 3-minute joyful chaos that seems to have received a variety of reactions. With their second rehearsal they will try to ensure everything works fine, in view of the upcoming semi-final on Tuesday.

The Second Rehearsal

Moldova brings a big party at the Eurovision stage during their second rehearsal. The performance starts with a fast close shot on one of the guitarists, who wears sunglasses along with 1 more group member. At first, yellow is the dominant colour of the stage, while purple becomes the key colour of the perfomance along the way. The band is wearing traditional multi-coloured clothes. The lead singer is dressed in red and blue with a black hat. In front of the drummer there is a puppet with a huge grey beard and a big hat. There are blue, red and purple colours in the sun’s LED screen. Purple lights come away from the sun. There is also use of the LED floor. All the members are grooving and hopping in the rhythm of the song. There are enough wide shots, as also shots from above showing all the group members and the LED floor graphics. Towards the end there is a key change in the song, one of the guitarists lies down the floor playing the guitar at the same time and there are visible coloured lined graphics. At the end, the lead singer with 2 more band members that wear white-and-black clothes take advantage of the B stage, where they finish their performance. The 2 hallways of the B stage become elevated, in the bottom of which we can distinguish the same coloured lined graphics as in the main stage before. The performance ends with the waterfall turning into purple colour and the 2 members of the group in the B stage getting near to the singer.

Eurovision 2022: Netherlands’ Second Rehearsal!

Next up is Netherlands. S10, a 21 years old singer, rapper and songwriter, wears a very stylish black dinner jacket that’s cropped at the front but has long tails at the back. Her staging is a smoky plinth and some dramatic lighting, and it delivers real impact. The Dutch delegation seemed very happy with the first rehearsal. Unfortunately, the betting odds didn’t seem same as happy based on the little information we got about S10’s staging. Will the delegation convince with their second rehearsal?

The Second Rehearsal

Netherlands’ rehearsal begins with a shot from above moving towards S10 with herself being shadowed. At first, there is light only on S10. The stage floor has a square white linear light and S10 is standing on its center. There are many close shots on S10’s face. In the first chorus there is a small light burst and white lights are moving slowly from the sun structure behind. In the second verse the ‘sun’ turns from black to white, while towards the end the bottom half of it turns into a yellow sea. At the start of the second verse S10 is shadowed again, as opposite to the white sun behind. In the second chorus the lights behind are moving a bit faster and become more reddish. S10 is vocally good. At the final part of the song, she takes a few steps forward and we have wider shots. There are red to white lights coming out from the sun. Black and white colors are characteristic. There is no use of the backround LED screen. Generally Netherlands’ performance focuses a lot on the lights and S10 herself. The performance is atmospheric, melancholic, but relaxing. S10 passes through succesfully the emotions she wants. The performance ends with close shots on S10’s face and a shot from above moving again towards S10.

Eurovision 2022: Bulgaria’s Second Rehearsal!

The second rehearsals continue and it’s Bulgaria’s turn to come on stage. The rock band ‘Intelligent Music Project’ with their song ‘Intention’ having vast experience of performing on stage brought their massive energy on the Eurovision 2022 during their first rehearsal. The latter featured some incredible neon lighting and an impressive use of geometric shapes on the graphic backdrop. The band with its second rehearsal will try to convince that they have chances for qualifying to the Grand Final.

The Second Rehearsal

The second rehearsal starts with a divided screen, where in the right side appears the guitarist of the group and after a while the drummer on the left part of the screen. There are close shots on the lead singer. All the group is dressed in black. The lead singer is in the middle and behind him are aligned the rest group members. Two group members are standing on small circular pods which feature smaller circles surrounded by lights. Black and white are the characteristic colors of Bulgaria’s performance with red appearing from the middle of the performance and on. In the backround there is a sphere-like graphic that contains many circular speakers. The bulgarian delegation also makes good use of the led floor, having enough shots from above. The singer wears a black hat at the beginning, that then throws away. In the chorus the singer does some moves corresponding to the progress of the song. There are many shots to the group’s rest members also. In the second chorus there are red ultrasound waves coming towards the audience. In the bridge, all the members of the group are not enlightened and seem as black fiqures. Pyro is added in the third run and now dominates the orange colour! The singer has some make up and the group has great energy! At the end there is an orange shape of a dove. May it be a hint for peace?

Eurovision 2022: Ukraine’s Second Rehearsal!

The second section of the 5th day of rehearsals in Turin starts with Ukraine. Ukraine is the big odds’ favourite, giving them a 43% possibility of winning! The first rehearsal seemed similar to the performance of the national selection. The members of Kalush Orchestra wore traditional clothes, while light and blue lighting dominated the staging. Kalush Orchestra with their song ‘Stefania’ come on stage for their second rehearsal hoping to live up to the people’s expectations.

The Second Rehearsal

Ukraine’s rehearsal starts with a close shot on the front water part of the stage, the water has orange color. The yellow and orange colors are dominant in the backround also. The artists of the band are standing still being shadowed by the lighting. Then the rap part hits, the staging here is similar to the national selection’s one. There is a cool effect with their shadows on the led floor, being surrounded by an orange-sunset like color. They are doing a characteristic grooving move. The artists are wearing traditional clothes. In the instrumental they are dancing like in the national selection performance. In the second pre-chorus we see again the shadows in the led floor grooving but the shadows this time are multi-colored with traditional shapes. In the second chorus the backround turns blue. The performance is much more enhanced compared to the national selection one. The staging features wide use of the led floor. In the bridge, the artists are clapping cheering the audience to clap, too and the backround turns again to orange. There are shots in the audience. At the last intrumental part the dancer is doing some moves in the middle, while there is a good shot from above showing the effects of the led floor. At the end each member of the band becomes more free. They are bringing a party on the Eurovision stage!
