On the occasion of the filming of the Liar video clip, which took place in the last few days in Limassol, our beloved Silia Kapsis and the successful Greek creator Dimitris Kontopoulos, made exclusive statements to the RIK camera.

See footage from the filming of the video clip in the videos below:

Christer Björkman: “We will be effective and we will be able to shorten the show!” | Exclusive Interview

Andreas Papayiannakis and EurovisionFun was invited along with a limited number of media by SVT, to attend the official hand-over ceremony of the contest hosting, from the City of Liverpool to the City of Malmö and the Eurovision Allocation Draw which was broadcast live on eurovision.tv and Ertflix tonight.

There we had the chance to meet several of the people involved in the production of the contest, the Mayor of the City of Malmö Katrin Stjernfeldt Jammeh, the Program Executive of the City of Malmö Karin Karlsson, Eurovision Executive Producer Ebba Adielsson, and Show Producer Christer Björkman.

Christer Björkman spoke exclusively to us about his comeback and more. Christer has been a show producer for five times, now he’s coming back for the sixth time. But how does it feel to be back? Was he planning on his return? Christer said:

“No, I mean to me it was something that I have left behind me and I felt I was done with it. But then when they called and said, you know, we want you, we need you, it’s very hard to say no to Eurovision. You know that, we all know that, we’re fans, you know, in the back of our bones we’re fans. And I’m very proud to be back.”

SVT has always been a trendsetter throughout the years and now with the help of Christer, they are planning on cutting down on the show for up to one hour this year. Christer clarifies:

“Well, we’re trying to be effective. We set up a goal for ourselves to have a show that is 3.30, which is roughly what it was in Malmo last time. That’s sort of the national ego that makes us do that and having done this in Sweden quite recently, you know, in 2016 and we did 2013, so we don’t have to do all that over and over again. So we will be effective and we will be able to shorten it. Maybe not all the way to 3.30, but not far from it.”

Christer has done so many great shows in the past, so his opinion on competing songs and staging matters a lot. So we asked him what he thinks of the Cypriot entry “Liar” and Silia Kapsis! Christer admitted he has listened to the song of Cyprus and got really enthusiastic about telling us his opinion about it:

“Oh my God, I have. I think it’s a very good song. I have not seen Silia live, so I cannot judge the artist’s ability when it comes to a live performance. But the recording is great and I love the song. And it will definitely be one of the songs that I will be very keen on to work with because I think it can be a really good stage performance as well. So that one is good.”

The last time there has been a comment like this about a Greek or Cypriot entry, was back in 2018 with the participation of Cyprus with Eleni Foureira and the song “Fuego“.

You can watch our exclusive interview with Christer Björkman at the video down below:

Special thanks to SVT for inviting us and the City of Malmö for the great hosting at this lovely ceremony, but also many many more that are about to come.

Stay tuned at Eurovisionfun and don’t miss out on anything regarding our most loved contest!

Cyprus: On February 29 the most likely release date of “Liar” | EXCLUSIVE

Αccording to our exclusive information, the most likely release date for “Liar”, this year’s Cypriot entry in the Eurovision contest, is February 29.

The plan of RIK and the artistic team is to release the video clip of Liar, the song with which Silia Kapsis will represent Cyprus at Eurovision 2024, on February 29. Unless, of course, something unexpected happens that will overturn all this design.

As we have already informed you with our previous articles, this week Silia returns from Los Angeles to Athens. After making the final recording of the song, she will go with the artistic team to Cyprus, so that next weekend she can start filming the video clip.

The director of the video clip is going to be Kostas Karydas, one of the most renowned directors in Greece, but also with a lot of experience from the Eurovision contest, having directed Stefania’s and Amanda’s entries in 2021 and 2022 respectively, which  both ended up  in the top 10.

The video clip of this year’s Cypriot participation after several years will be shot entirely in Cyprus, specifically in Limassol and will contain a lot of exterior filming.

During her stay in Cyprus, Silia will speak to the Cypriot media and will also make television appearances. After the filming, Silia will return to Greece for the second part of her rehearsals, this time with the dancers who will accompany her on the Eurovision stage.

On the weekend during the filming, RIK and the artistic team, with the kind sponsorship of City of Dreams, the largest hotel complex in the country, is holding a media event for selected Eurovision sites, but also TV editors covering the Eurovision Song Contest. Of course Eurovisionfun will be there and bring you everything that happens. In addition, you can send your questions for Silia through our Instagram, since your ten best questions will be selected, so that we can address them to her in the interview we will conduct.

The Eurovision interest moves to Limassol, Cyprus next week and through Eurovisionfun, our social media and our YouTube channel you will be able to follow everything that will happen there!

Cyprus: Silia is impressive in her first rehearsals!

Earlier this week, Silia Kapsis began her final preparations for Eurovision 2024 in Los Angeles, under the supervision of her two choreographers Kelly Sweeney and Guy Groove. Already 70% of the choreography has been completed and the result is excellent.

Since the beginning of the week, Silia Kapsis has been in Los Angeles, starting intensive rehearsals for the choreography that she will present to us on stage in May at the Eurovision contest. The two acclaimed choreographers, Kelly Sweeney and Guy Groove, have worked with Silia before and have prepared something very impressive and demanding, which highlights the incredible talent of this year’s Cypriot representative in the contest.

We got a little taste of what the team has been up to so far and we can safely say that Silia’s performance is breath taking. She keeps the viewer’s gaze fixed on her from the first second, without at any point reminding of similar appearances we have seen in the competition.

The look will be young, modern, absolutely TV familiar. Besides, it was done after there was first the design of the leds and lights that will be used in the appearance of Silia, so that everything ties together harmoniously and creates a perfect result from all points of view.

Dimitris Kontopoulos and Ilias Kokotos are also in Los Angeles since yesterday, who arrived there to watch the rehearsals and their development.

Next week, Silia will go to Cyprus to give her first interviews to the country’s media, and then to shoot the Liar video clip. The director of the video clip will be Kostas Karydas, who was the director of Stefania’s Last Dance and Amanda’s Die Together.

With greater confidence and optimism, the Cypriot delegation, since everything they have planned for this year’s participation is slowly taking shape, continue their preparations for this year’s competition.

The Greek and Cypriot representative respectively are approaching the homestretch of their preparations for the upcoming Contest!

After the US, Marina Satti focuses on Malmö

Marina Satti, had visited the USA the previous days for business and personal affairs. She had the opportunity to refresh and get some rest, since from now on, her main focus turns to Eurovision exclusively.

As we enter the middle of January, her team in collaboration with the Greek national broadcaster (ERT) have concluded to the song which Marina will perform on the Eurovision stage. The clock is ticking and understandably, the next step is for the shootings of the music video to begin,

Both ERT officials and Marina’s coworkers keep a secretive profile, because they do not want to ruin the surprise leading up to the song reveal. The enthusiasm around the Greek entry is big and along with the country’s ninth place on the betting odds, the people working for Marina and her song are filled with optimism, with hopes of ending up on a high placement of the scoreboard, making last year’s low result a memory.

Silia Kapsis starts her preparations for Eurovision 2024 from Los Angeles

With a reversed course but the same goal, Silia Kapsis, who will wave the cypriot flag, begins her Eurovision journey. Today she departed from Sydney in order to arrive to Los Angeles, where, as we have previously informed you, she is going to rehearse the choreography she will present to the upcoming Contest. Her choreography is supervised and guided by Kelly Sweeney and Guy Groove.

Ilias Kokotos and Dimitris Kontopoulos are also expected to fly to Los Angeles during this week, in order to watch the rehearsals in person. Right after Los Angeles, Silia will go back to Cyprus, where she will get interviewed by the island’s media, as they are waiting for her anxiously. Then, she will shoot the music video for her song and lastly, she will stay in Athens, Greece until it is time for her to fly to Malmö in May.

Silia’s song title is already public and it is called “Liar”, by Dimitris Kontopoulos and Elke Tiel. However, its final form will not be the exact same as the leaked demo version. RIK, the cypriot broadcaster hold their hopes high, believing that Cyprus can achieve an even higher result than Andew Lambrou’s 12th place in Liverpool last year.

Cyprus: Silia Kapsis will sing “Liar” at Eurovision 2024!

As announced by the Cypriot broadcaster RIK-CyBc, the title of the song, with which Silia Kapsis will represent Cyprus at Eurovision 2024, is “Liar“. The song is composed by Dimitris Kontopoulos and the lyrics are written by ELKE, a well-known Dutch artist.

The production of the song was completed a few days ago in a recording studio abroad. The creative team is completely satisfied with the final result, while the excellent response the song has received from all parties involved has filled the Cypriot mission with enthusiasm.

Liar is a very contemporary pop dance track, with instrumentation and production that perfectly suits the explosive stage presence of Silia Kapsis.

Silia Kapsis is leaving for Los Angeles in the next few days to meet Kelly Sweeney and Guy Groove, the choreographers who will be in charge of her choreography, which will be seen on stage in May. Cyprus: RIK and artistic team are in feverish preparations!

Τhe Cypriot team is doing some major preparations, as they want to have everything prepared ahead of time for the 68th Eurovision Song Contest, wanting to present the most competitive and professional entry possible, once more.

The Song is Reaching Its Final Form

The song with which Silia Kapsis wil represent Cyprus in Eurovision 2024 is almost ready to shine, as its just some steps before the Final Mixing. The previous weeks, Dimitris Kontopoulos finalised the production of the song, in a famous studio abroad, along his colleagues. The song has become even more dynamic, in order to make the most out of Silia’s dancing and vocal skills, and make the greatest impression on stage.

Kelly Sweeney and Guy Groove started making the Choreography

The famous choreographers that RIK selected to be on Silia’s side in the contest, have already received the song and are now in a creative phase. According to our information, they were excited by the song, and by having already worked with Silia in the past, they know what she is capable of, so they’re making a choreography of great demands, in order to make the track shine on stage.

Right after Christmas, Silia is going to Los Angeles, where she is going to stay for about a week, for the first rehearsals with her choreographers.

Impressive LEDs for Silia’s performance

Except for the choreography, the artistic team is preparing the LEDs that will accompany Silia’s performance in our screens. The concept is already in the making, and in the coming days, the Ukrainian company that also made the LEDs of Stefania and Amanda in the past, will be in charge of developing everything.

What we can say, as of now, is that the LEDs will be a major part in Silia’s performance and we are sure that even the most skeptical viewer will be mesmerised by the result.

What’s Coming next?

Immediately after her trip to Los Angeles, Silia Kapsis will return to Cyprus for some interviews, but also to shoot the music vdeo, which thiswill take place exclusively on the island this time. After the end of the filming of the music video, she is coming for a permanent stay in Greece, where she will make some more appearences in the media of our country. The song is expected to be released at the end of February/beginning of March, of course through RIK.

Silia will stay in Athens until the beginning of May, for the latest rehearsals until the contest.

The Cypriot delegation continues with a well-organized plan, their preparations for Eurovision 2024, always keeping a low profile, but hoping that it will manage to impress and find themselves even higher in the ranking table, higher than the 12th place, of the impressive Andrew Lambrou last year.

Even though it is shot just by single camera, it is capable to showcase both Silia’s talents as well as the professionalism and the aspiration of the Cypriot delegation for Eurovision 2024.

A few days prior, Silia Kapsis’s choreographers for Eurovision 2024 were made public by RIK. They are Los Angeles-based, Kelly Sweeney and Guy Groove, who have plenty of television show experience.

Cyprus: Silia Kapsis on Australia’s most popular morning TV show!

Silia Kapsis, Cyprus’s representative in the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest, was interviewed yesterday on Australia’s most watched morning television program, “The Morning Show”. During the interview she discussed her participation in Eurovision 2024 as well as her ties to Greece and Cyprus.

More specifically, she stated:

I’m so excited to be representing Cyprus, I’m over the moon! Eurovision is not only a song competition, it’s a celebration of culture, diversity, unity and of course music and incredible talent. I feel so privileged to be up on that stage and I feel so blessed to be given this opportunity.

You’re one of the youngest participants in the Eurovision Song Contest. How does that make you feel?

It’s so exciting. I’m so blessed.

Are there any details you might share regarding the song or the stage performance?

Unfortunately I can’t. I wish I could but it’s a secret. But little things will be popping out here and there.

In 2023 Cyprus was represented by Andrew Lamrou, who also resides in Australia. Do you know him ? Has he given you any advice?

I don’t know him personally but he has reached out to congratulate me and he was super sweet. We can catch up so he can give me a few tips about the whole Eurovision process. He’s lovely and amazing.

You compose your own music and have put out a few music videos, the most of which were filmed in Los Angeles. What connection do you have with Hollywood?

It’s like my second home. I go there often to work with some of the best choreographers of the world. I’ve made so many connections and friendships. It’s amazing over there. So many opportunities!

What was your mother’s reaction when she heard the news?

My mum was over the moon. She is biggest supporter. She always tells me to believe in myself and never give up,

What is your connection with Cyprus?

My dad is Cypriot and my mum is Greek. So I’m half Cypriot and half Greek, which is perfect!

Would you like to send a message to Greek and Cypriot people?

I adore you and I will do everyting I can to make you proud. Cyprus, I love you!
