Italy: These are the outsanding names of the rumoured contestants of Sanremo 2024!
We’re almost a month away from the long-awaited announcement of the artists taking part in Festival di Sanremo 2024, who except from claiming the Golden Lion (Sanremo’s established award), they’re also competing for the Italian representation in Eurovision 2024!
All Music Italia, one of the biggest music websites of Italy, posted their final list of artists, that they believe are most likely to be in Teatro Ariston frothe 6th to the 10th of February. As you will see the all these names together are breathtaking.
This will be the last Festival that Amadeus will be the presenter and artistic director and as it seems, he wants his last festival to have a lineup that will make history. Many previous returing winners, eurostars and many well-knowned artists of the Italian music industry. Let’s see them in detail.
Il Volo, Francesco Gabbani, Jalisse, Mahmood, Diodato και Achille Lauro επιστρέφουν!
All Music Italia, is certain that Il Volo are going to take part. The trio consisted of Gianluca Ginoble, Ignazio Boschetto and Piero Barone, almost returned to the festival last year, after winning in 2015 and coming third in 2019, but in the end, they didn’t. This year their presence seems certain, with a song composed by many established creators like Edwyn Roberts ( Laura Pausini, Diodato, Malika Ayane), Stefano Marletta ( Paola Turci, Chiara Galiazzo), Michael Tenisci ( Tiziano Ferro, Alessandra Amorosο) and also (debuting), Erensto Ginoble, Gianluca’s brother.
After their world tour, Il Volo are coming back stronger than ever, hoping that this time, the press will not be a hurdle in their win, as was the case in 2019.

One more eurostar that makes his return is Achille Lauro, who represented San Marino in Eurovision 2022, without managing qualify for the Final. Having signed in a new recording label, Achille Lauro is searching for a hit song, that will get him to the top.
Another rumoured name, is that of Mahmood, winner of Sanremo 2019 and 2022, who seems to want to claim a third victory in the Festival, as his name is included in the list. With the pre-sales of his tour, not being as high as expected, taking part in Sanremo seems like a nice promotion.
A personal achievement of Amadeus, Diodato, who was not really known before his victory in Sanremo 2020, is about to return in 2024. Jalisse, the pop duet that gave Italy a fourth place in Eurovision 1997, are about to return to the festival after 26 failed attempts, and this time they are very likely to succeed, thanks to their promotion and their commercial return in recent years.
Finally, Francesco Gabbani who won the festival in 2017, with his multi-platinum “Occidentali’s Karma” which gave him the sixth place in Eurovision, and a second place in the festival in 2020, he is most likely to return for third time, hoping for one more success.
The rest of the Big Names
Except from the above Eurostars, there are many names that Amadeus picked for Sanremo 2024, according to All Music Italia. Let’s see some of them.
One of the Eurofan’s favourites, Annalisa, who has come close many time, but has never won, is about to return for another time in Teatro Ariston, hoping that this time she will make her dream come true and represent Italy in Eurovision.

As of the groups, those that stand out are The Kolors and La Rappresentante di Lista, both with successful songs in Sanremo.
