Cyprus: Alexia |”I have rejected many proposals for Eurovision but I am thinking about it for next year”!

Alexia gave a shocking interview to Alpha Cyprus and specifically to the journalist Costas Karnakis. The great voice of Cyprus opens her house to Alpha’s camera and refers with pain and bitterness to the new challenge of Turkey to open the enclosed city of Famagusta and more specifically the beach of Varosia. However, Alexia also refers to the Eurovision Song Contest, throwing a literal bomb at any developments, since as she characteristically states, while for so many years she was not interested in the contest despite the proposals she accepted, for next year’s contest she is seriously considering the possibility of a new participation in it!

The great artist from Famagusta, with her unsurpassed collaborations and sales, talks for the first time about the new illegal action of Turkey, to open the enclosed city of Famagusta, the ghost town as everyone calls it, which for 46 years has been waiting for its legal inhabitants to return to their homes.

But apart from her personal experiences from the Turkish invasion of 1974, Alexia also refers to the Eurovision Song Contest. After first expressing her opinion, preferring local artists as representatives of the countries, she states that despite the fact that all previous years she rejected the proposals she accepted in order to return to the contest, this year she is thinking about it!

Every country should give a step through Eurovision to talented local musicians… Many times I was offered Eurovision but I stubbornly refused. But now to tell you the truth I’m thinking about it for this year!

Alexia for the Eurovision Song Contest.

In 1981, in the first participation of Cyprus in Eurovision, 17-year-old Alexia, together with the band Island, bring the sixth place for Cyprus, with the song Monica.

In 1987, as a soloist, Alexia represents Cyprus with the song Aspro Mavro, occupying the seventh place! The song is becoming a huge success in Greece and Cyprus, while it exceeds 250,000 sales in Scandinavia! Following is her first solo album in Greece, with composer Costas Charitodiplomenos and her long record career begins.

A return of the great Alexia to the Contest, with an appearance like the one made by Patricia Kaas in 2009 for France, would literally mean an artistic earthquake, which would transcend the narrow borders of Greece and Cyprus. We wish her interest to be real and why not see her again on the Eurovision stage!

Kalomira: “If I go to Eurovision again, I would like to have such a song…”!

Kalomira gave an interview to OK magazine and to the journalist Giannis Poulopoulos. Shortly after returning from the Caribbean, where she celebrated 10 years of marriage with her husband, Kalomira clarifies in the interview if she has really discussed the possibility of Eurovision 2021 with RIK, she describes the song with which she would like to participate again in the contest, while revealing whether she has already heard a candidate song.

One of the people rumored to represent Cyprus at Eurovision 2021 is Kalomira. Kalomira who is still popular in Greece and Cyprus, admitted some weeks ago in an interview on a Belgian website, that for the first time she is seriously considering returning to the contest, having already had some discussions with RIK.

For the first time since that interview, Kalomira opens her papers more and gives some more important details.

Initially, she admits once again that has discussed with RIK the possibility of representing Cyprus in Eurovision 2021 and describes the song with which she would like to do it:

If I were to go to Eurovision again, I would like to have a strong dance track that would allow me to dance and have fun on stage.

Kalomira is then asked, if she has had heard any songs for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest:

No. So far I have not heard any song.

Finally, the journalist asks her if she is concerned about the fact that Eurovision 2021 can be held without an audience and with completely new data, different from what we are used to, due to the pandemic.

I love Eurovision very much and I believe that by May 2021 there is room to prepare better than in 2020. I am sure that Eurovision 2021 will be a success.

We remind you that according to what is reported in the Cypriot media, Kalomira is the favorite at the moment to represent the island in Eurovision 2021, without of course excluding the cases of Katerina Stikoudi, Irini Papadopoulou, Elias Koza or some other surprise name!

Dream Team: “No one needs this kind of cheap tricks” | EXCLUSIVE

A non-existent rumour has been circulating lately in Greece and Cyprus, involving a member of the Dream Team and unfortunately could create misunderstandings. With a statement, which is exclusively hosted by Eurovision Fun, the Dream Team clarifies the situation and sends a clear message in all directions, that such logics do not concern them and of course they will not tolerate the spread of such lies.

Specifically, what reached the ears of Dream Team, hence its reaction, is that an artist who is rumored to represent Cyprus in the upcoming competition, in a recent communication with a member of Dream Team was discouraged by a possible participation in Eurovision 2021.

We have been involved in the Eurovision Song Contest for 15 years and everyone knows that not only are we not competitive but on the contrary we have helped, completely non-profit, both the Greek and the Cypriot delegation in many cases. To claim that we contacted artists and asked them not to participate in the contest, apart from being childish, is also cunning, as it tries to create the impression of some kind of fear on our part, in order to strengthen a candidacy. No one needs this kind of cheap tricks and it would be good not to use them, because as our people say: lying has short legs.

Dream Team

We also contacted the side of the said artist, where we received a similar response, since as characteristically told us, there has been no been a communication with a member of the Dream Team lately. On the contrary, in the last communication that took place with Dimitris Kontopoulos, for reasons unrelated to Eurovision, the latter was encouraging the possibility of Eurovision.

Cyprus: Eleni Foureira’s decision for Eurovision 2021!

This morning, through the show Eftychite in Open TV, the journalist Giannis Poulopoulos, gave an answer to the question that tormented the fans of the Eurovision Song Contest the previous days.

According to information from the record company Panik Records, Eleni Foureira will not represent Cyprus in Eurovision 2021.

The reasons for her refusal, according to the journalist, are not that she does not want to be back on the music scene of the contest, but she would like to do it when the conditions with the coronavirus are better and Eurovision can be done normally in the way we all know.

Finally, both he and Nikos Georgiadis, a journalist and friend of Kalomira, confirmed that the latter is in discussions for the representation of the island of Aphrodite in Eurovision 2021. The same applies to Elias Koza.

Will Kalomira, Elias Kozas or someone else represent Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021?

Kalomira: “I am in negotiations with Cyprus; this year I am open to go to Eurovision”!

In the morning show of Open TV,  journalist Giannis Poulopoulos revealed two more names of artists who are in talks with RIK, in order to represent Cyprus in Eurovision 2021. They are Kalomira and Elias Koza, both former representatives of Greece in the competitio. .

Kalomira is thinking about it

According to what was reported, RIK is in negotiations with Kalomira to represent the country in Rotterdam. In an interview given by Kalomira to a German media and broadcasted on the show, Kalomira seems quite positive in taking this step, compared to previous years.

This year, Stefania, whom I adore, will represent Greece; Cyprus is something I am looking at, who knows, i may represent Cyprus. It’s something I’m talking about, but it may not happen. This time I am open, I want to leave the house, I am closed for two years. There is a possibility that you will see me at Eurovision 2021.

Kalomira

Nikos Georgiadis, who is on the show’s panel and is a friend of Kalomira, explained that the difference this year for Kalomira compared to previous years, is that schools in the US are done remotely and so she can move with her family for the needs of the contest. This will be Kalomira’s second participation in the Eurovision Song Contest, if the discussions finally succeed, after the third place she won in 2008, with My Secret Combination.

Elias Kozas as a solo artist

Another artist who is in contact with RIK is Elias Kozas, who is discussing returning to the competition as a solo artist and without his band, Koza Mostra. Elias together with his band and Agathonas in 2013 brought Greece for the last time in the top 10 of the final score, with the song of Alcohol Is Free.

We remind you that this week we are expecting Alex Papaconstantinou’s meeting with Eleni Foureira, in order to clarify the landscape regarding the possibility of her returning to the competition. As we have written in our previous articles, RIK has many valuable options and shows that it is not in a hurry to end up.

Cyprus: Alex Papaconstantinou will be the composer of the Eurovision 2021 entry | The meeting with Eleni Foureira which will be crucial for her final answer!

According to what TVNEA reports in today’s article, Alex Papaconstantinou will be the composer of the Cypriot entry in Eurovision 2021. Next week he will be in Athens, where he will have a meeting with PANIK and Eleni Foureira to discuss the official RIK proposal to the popular singer. Everything suggests that this meeting will be the catalyst for the final answer of Eleni Foureira on the Cypriot public broadcaster.

Based on what Maria Pratsi reports to TVNEA, we are extracting two new important information. First, the rumors of the previous days are confirmed that Alex Papaconstantinou will be the creator of the Cypriot song (for the fourth time). Secondly, Alex will travel to Athens next week to meet with the people of PANIK, but also Eleni Foureira herself, to discuss the song he has to suggest to them. This trip will also judge Eleni Foureira’s response to RIK.

As we mentioned in our previous article, the flawless collaboration that Eleni Foureira had with both RIK and Alex Papaconstantinou, is one of the main weapons that the people of the Cypriot public broadcaster have, in order to “convince” the former, to say the big yes.

If of course all the above is true, then we will soon know the answer of Eleni Foureira and we will know if we will see her again in 2021 on the Eurovision stage!

Cyprus: RIK made a proposal to Eleni Foureira for Eurovision 2021!

According to what was mentioned in today’s morning show of STAR, RIK has made an official proposal to Eleni Foureira, in order to represent the country for the second time in the contest.

In fact, this is the first official proposal that RIK addresses to an artist for Eurovision 2021 and it becomes known. It was reported on the show that Eleni Foureira has not yet responded and is in discussions with her record label.

From our side, what we officially know from PANIK, the record label to which Eleni Foureira also belongs, is that their intention is to propose only artists of Cypriot origin, since, as they characteristically told us, there is no big name from its potential that interested in participating in the upcoming contest.

Certainly a positive answer from Eleni Foureira would change any existing data, since it would be a priority for RIK, but also for PANIK.

Cyprus: Details on the process of selecting the artist for Eurovision 2021!

On the Omega TV station and on the show Ela Na Deis, Alexandros Taramountas, gave more information about the process that RIK will follow in order to select its artist for Eurovision 2021.

Stikoudi, Papadopoulou or someone else?

The report of the show confirmed what was said this morning at Open TV, but shedding much more detail. Initially, what everyone agrees on is that Katerina Stikoudi and Irini Papadopoulou are among the favorite names, but they are not the only ones.

Sources from RIK confirmed to Alexandros Taramountas that so far RIK has not spoken to any artist, nor obviously to Stikoudi and Papadopoulou. What the reports of the two shows also agree on is that the song that will represent Cyprus at Eurovision 2021 will be a dance track and most possible sung by a female singer.

RIK will suggest songs on the record labels

However, the most important information that was added to the already existing puzzle is that RIK, in the negotiations that it will carry out with the record companies, will suggest songs that it already has in its possession, looking for the artist that will fit better, a method that used in 2018-2019. All of the above, of course, based on what was heard on the show Ela Na Deis and the sources cited by RIK.

Autumn is always a time of developments in RIK for the Eurovision contest and very soon we will surely know more!

Cyprus: Katerina Stikoudi and Irini Papadopoulou are the favorites for Eurovision 2021!

Giannis Poulopoulos through the morning show in Open TV, revealed that the two names that are currently favorites to represent Cyprus in Eurovision 2021, are Katerina Stikoudi and Irini Papadopoulou.

According to what Giannis Poulopoulos mentioned in today’s show of Open, Eftychite, RIK among the list of artists who publicly expressed their interest in representing Cyprus in Eurovision 2021 favorites are Katerina Stikoudi and Irini Papadopoulou.

Both are very interested and are preparing their proposals for the board of RIK, which will have the final choice. We remind you that Katerina Stikoudi was voted in the first place by our readers, as the best choice for the Cypriot representation in Rotterdam, while Irini Papadopoulou tried to represent Greece in this year’s contest, which was finally canceled, with a song by Doron Medalie, who was also the composer of Netta’s Toy.

Again based on what was heard on Eftychite, RIK wants to be represented with a dance ethnic pop song, something that both singers can support.

Who would you prefer for Cyprus in Eurovision 2021, Katerina Stikoudi or Irini Papadopoulou?
