Czech Republic: The Live-on-Tape video of We Are Domi will not be published!

After the Netherlands, the public broadcaster of Czech Republic, gave out the news of them not giving permission to EBU to publish the live-on-tape video of their representatives for Eurovision 2022.

The news were confirmed by the head of press of the Czech delegation through a tweet. Czech Republic was represented by We Are Domi and the song “Lights Off”. The group finished  fourth in the second semi-final, but ended up 22nd in the Grand Final with 38 points.

From June 14 to June 23, the live-on-tape videos for Eurovision 2022 will be published in the official YouTube channel of Eurovision. Those performances were recorded prior to the contest and they would have been used in case the delegation was unable to travel to Turin due to COVID-19 restrictions or if a member of the delegation was diagnosed with COVID while in Turin and couldn’t perform in the live shows.

You can watch the first six live-on-tape videos in our articles:

About 30 live-on-tapes will be published, knowing that Ukraine was excluded from the need of recording one due to the war, but also the Nethebrlands and the Czech Republic decided not to broadcast their videos, seven more countries have not given their permission to publish the videos in question.

Eurovision 2022: Watch the Live-on-Tape performances of Switzerland, Slovenia and Bulgaria!

The live-on-tape of the countries that participated in the 66th Eurovision Song Contest in May in Turin will be shown this year through the official Eurovision channel on YouTube.

From June 14 to 23, Eurofans will have the opportunity to watch the live-on-tape appearances of about thirty of the forty countries that took part in this year’s contest. Yesterday was the first day of the live-on-tape screening and, thus, we had the opportunity to watch the alternative appearances of Albania, Latvia and Lithuania.

Today, it is the turn of three other countries of the first semi-final. Since the EBU decided to show the live-on-tapes based on the running order of the first semifinal, this means that today it is the turn of Switzerland, Slovenia and Bulgaria.

We remind you that while we were normally going to see the live-on-tape of Ukraine, the Ukrainian delegation was excluded from the creation of live-on-tape due to the ongoing war on Ukrainian territory since the end of February.

The three Live-on-Tapes will be released one every thirty minutes from 16:00 to 17:00 CET.

Netherlands: Didn’t give permission for the broadcast of S10’s Live-on-Tape!

Dutch participating broadcaster, AVROTROS, didn’t give its permission for the broadcast of S10’s Live-on-Tape. According to Songfestival Update, an AVROTROS spokesperson stated:

We have submitted a request to the EBU not to put it online. We would like the performance from the live shows to remain as a memory for the public and the viewer

Just like in 2021, all countries had to record their performance in advance, as a backup in the event of a corona infection. This year it turned out not to be necessary. In 2021, Australia participated through their live-on-tape performance, because Montaigne was unable to come to Rotterdam due to the corona pandemic. A band member of Daði Freyr (Iceland) tested positive in Rotterdam. They participated with images from their rehearsal.

From June 14 to June 23, the live on tapes for Eurovision 2022 will be released on the official Eurovision channel on Youtube. These performances were recorded prior to the competition and would have been used if a delegation could not travel to Turin due to Covid-19 restrictions or if someone in the delegation was offended by Covid-19 while in Turin and could not participate in live shows.

It has not been clarified yet, which public radio and television stations did not give their permission for the publication of their live on tape. We will definitely not watch the live on tape video of Ukraine, since it was excluded from its recording due to the ongoing war in the country.

S10 represented the Netherlands at Eurovision 2022 with “De diepte”, the first Dutch-language song in the contest since 2010. She finished 11th in the Grand Final with 171 points, including 12 points from the Italian jury.

Eurovision 2022: Live on tapes are coming to our screens soon!

With a tweet on the official account of the competition, the EBU essentially informs us that it will soon broadcast the live on tapes of the Eurovision 2022 entries.

It was one of the unanswered questions of the friends of the competition, that is, whether we will have the opportunity as last year to watch the live on tapes of this year’s participants. Some countries have already released their own videos (Poland, Montenegro), leading us to believe that this year the broadcast of live on tapes was left exclusively to the public televisions that took part in Eurovision 2022. Eventually, as it seems, there will be a special show, by all means chance through the contest YouTube channel, where these videos will be broadcast. More announcements are expected soon.

Over ten days, commencing on Tuesday 14 June, we’ll be releasing the Live-On-Tape performances on the official Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel.

A small number of broadcasters have elected not to have their Live-On-Tape performances released, and so we can continue to remember them as was initially intended – performed on the Eurovision stage from the PalaOlimpico in Turin!

For those who do not know what live on tapes are, all participating broadcasters were asked to record a live performance of their participation. This recording was delivered before the competition and took place in a studio. The recording took place in real time (as it would in the contest) without making changes to the vocals or any part of the show itself after the recording. This video was to be used in case any of the delegations failed to reach Turin or a member of the delegation tested positive in COVID-19 during rehearsals.

Let’s remember the live on tapes of last year’s finalists:

Montenegro: Watch the live on tape video of “Breathe”!

The live on-tape appearance of Montenegro’s participation for Eurovision 2022 has been released!

The representative of Montenegro, Vladana Vucinic, revealed the live on-tape appearance of “Breathe” , the song that represented the country at Eurovision 2023. This appearance was essentially a backup and would be presented if Vladana or the Montenegrin delegation did not managed to attend the live shows in Turin.

The show was recorded at RTS studios in Belgrade. Vladana failed to qualify for the grand final, but her participation marks Montenegro’s return to the contest.

Romania: TVR is considering suing EBU!

A few days after the Eurovision 2022 Grand Final, EBU issued an announcement regarding voting irregularities during Semi-Final 2 ,in which the Romanian jury was among the juries detected for “irregular voting patterns”. The national broadcaster of Romania, TVR, has publicly reacted against the decision and the CEO of the broadcaster stated that participation for next year was up for a debate, while an online poll was launched asking audience members to vote if they want Romania to participate again in the contest.

The CEO of TVR, Dan Turturică, has made some further comments on the issue, saying that Romanian television is considering suing the European Broadcasting Union after the situation in the Eurovision final. He believes that EBU changed the rules “during the game” and he adds that currently an internal investigation is conducted by TVR, to identify why the Romanian jury votes were invalid while decisions will be made on the situation.

Mr. Turturică also added that while TVR is analyzing the regulations, there needs to be a careful treatment without damaging the relationship of the broadcaster with EBU.

Alban Ramosaj: “I will participate in FiK again only if the communists leave the jury!

We had a sharp statement from Alban Ramosaj, second in the last FiK, although a big favorite for the victory and the representation of Albania in Turin. The young artist, answering to his fans, whether he would participate in FiK again, answered categorically no, saying that he would only do so if the communists on its jury left!

Alban noted that it would be easier to claim the representation of San Marino or Spain than to submit participation in FiK again. He even reminded his followers that even Gjon’s Tears, who was about to win Eurovision, refused his song in Albania and so he finally submitted his entry to Switzerland.

Let’s remember Alban’s participation in FiK 60:

Would he have better luck than Ronela in Turin?

Armenia: Listen to Saro’s song that was meant for ESC 2022!

As you have heard before, Rosa Linn was chosen to represent Armenia at Eurovision with her song “SNAP” through an internal selection where international&local jury and passionate eurofans from all over Europe as well helped the country to pick the right entry.

Saro Gevorgyan took part in the selection with the song written by Tokionine (by Maléna’s producer) and his wife Suzanna Khanzadian. His song is called ”Wicked Stranger“. You can listen to the song here:

Nevertheless, Armenia managed to score its best result since 2018, qualifying for the first time in a while and being back to the final as they used to be in the past. Rosa Linn safely qualified from the semi-final, where she placed 5th and impressive 3rd with the televoting. In the final, she was 20th with 61 points. Would Saro do better? We can only guess.

Exclusive: Chanel will not attend MAD VMA 2022!

Chanel Terrero, the artist who brought Spain to the top 3 for the first time since 1995, made an impact across Europe with her dynamic performance. Greece was the only country that its televoting gave 12 to Spain and SloMo is high on the Greek charts ever since. Many people have pointed out online the similarities between Chanel and Eleni Foureira, the Cypriot Eurovision 2018 entrant who gave Cyprus its best result with the pop banger Fuego.

Due to the popularity of SloMo in Greece, eurofans hoped that Chanel will perform in MAD VMA, the biggest annual music awards ceremony in Greece, and collaborate with Eleni. However, we can reveal that this will not happen this year.

Despite the rumors the last weeks about an upcoming collaboration, according to latest information we have Chanel decided not to attend MAD VMA 2022. While we were all excited to see them setting the stage on fire and despite the talks between the production of the event and Chanel’s team, unfortunately we will not see them perform together.
