Czech Republic: Listen to the final version of “Lights Off” by We Are Domi!

We Are Domi, the representatives of the Czech Republic, released the final version of “Lights Off” for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin

The final version was heard for the first time in the Romanian final where We Are Domi were invited on March 5. 

Today the song was released on all digital music platforms.

The music video for the Czech entry will be released later this week on March 18, the location of filming the video took place in Prague.

Czech Republic has been drawn to compete in the second half of the second semifinal  (positions 10-18).

Malta: Listen to “I am what I am”, Emma Muscat’s song for Eurovision 2022!

The song that will represent Malta in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Turin was published a few hours ago.

Emma Muscat will perform the song “I am what I am” which was written by Dino Medanhodzic, Julie Aagaard, Stine Kinck as well as Emma Muscat.

Who is Emma Muscat?

Emma Louise Marie Muscat (born 27 November 1999) is a Maltese singer and model working in Italy. Born in Malta to a wealthy family, Emma approached music from a young age. After her compulsory education, she decided to enroll at the University of Performing Arts. As a teenager she showed her skills in singing, dancing and in the use of musical instruments. She specialised, in particular, with the piano, and also began to compose both the music and the lyrics of her songs.

Portugal: With MARO and “saudade, saudade” in Turin!

The grand final of Festival da Canção 2022, the show through which the country chose the entry that will represent them in Eurovision 2022, was just successfully completed. It took place in Studio One in Lisbon and was broadcast live on Portugal’s state channel, RTP.

Presenters of the evening were Filomena Cautela (presenter of Eurovision 2018), Vasco Palmeirim and Inês Lopes Gonçalves.

The candidates

Ten songs competed in the final, claiming the ticket to Eurovision 2022. The 10 finalists were:

Results

The winner of this year’s Festival da Canção was determined 50% by the jury and 50% by the television audience.

The vote of the jury was as follows:

MARO also came first in the televote, crowning her the winner!

Iceland: Sigga, Beta & Elín won the national final with “Með hækkandi sól”

The Grand Final of Söngvakeppnin 2022 took place tonight at 20:45 CET. After the 2 semi-final rounds, 5 acts competed for the one ticket that to the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy.

The hosts of the show once again where Björg Magnúsdóttir, Jón Jónsson και Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir.

According to the bookmakers the chances of the 5 finalists to fly the Icelandic flag in Turin were as follows:

After the performance of the finalists the 2021 Icelandic representative Daði Freyr  took the stage performing a new single and a remix of his Eurovision etry.

According to the combined votes of the televoters and the jury the two acts that proceeded to the Superfinal round of the show were:

  1. Reykjavikurdaetur – Turn This Around
  2. SiggaBeta & Elín – Með hækkandi sól

Later on the show Tusse, the other guest of the show, performed “Voices”, the song with which he represented Sweden last year in Rotterdam finishing in 14th place.

After the conclusion of the televoting process, the act that is going to represent Iceland in 2022 Eurovision Song Contest is :

Sweden: Cornelia Jakobs is the winner of Melodifestivalen 2022 and will represent the country this year in Turin!

Ninety minutes ago, the show of the Final of Melodifestivalen 2022, started off on SVT and SVT Play and we now know that Cornelia Jacobs will represent Sweden at Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, with the song “Hold Me Closer“!

Montenegro: Listen to Vladana’s first live performance of “Breath”!

Yesterday night on Melfest WKNDVladana presented her song “Breathelive for the first time. The song was released on March 4 but was not performed live until now.

You can listen to her performance below:

The song will be a dynamic ballad with a clear message, dedicated to Vladana’s mother. As Vladana said, the song is emotional, dynamic and melancholic. The songwriting team includes Vladana herself as well as the well known songwriter Darko Dimitrov with many successful songs in the contest.

Malta: Emma Muscat to sing “I am what I am” in Turin?

As we exclusively mentioned through our Twitter account, Emma Muscat will compete in Eurovision 2022 with a different song from the one with which she won the national final in Malta.

The internet is on fire with the rumors about Emma Muscat changing song, while yesterday, Emma posted on her personal Instagram account saying that on Saturday, March 12 and on 14:00 p.m. there will be  a surprise!

The so called surprise that Emma Muscat talked about, was the announcement of her new single “I am what I am” that will be released on March 14. However in her post, Emma doesn’t specify whether she will represent Malta with this song or not, in Eurovision 20022.

Sweden: Who is the favourite to win Melodifestivalen 2022, according to today’s betting odds?

Melodifestivalen 2022 Final show will begin in a few moments, with the new competition and voting format in place and will be aired tonight at 20:00 CET on SVT and SVT Play. Twelve contestants will have to perform their song and compete in order to claim their ticket to Turin, to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest this year.

Greece: The first information about Amanda’s stage presentation in Turin!

The first information about the stage appearance prepared by Fokas Evangelinos, for the entry of Greece in Eurovision 2022, saw the light of day.

According to what Amanda Georgiadi said in the interview she gave to OK magazine, the approach they have chosen for the Turin scene is something more artistic.

From the first moment I saw Fokas Evangelinos I loved him! He is such a warm person. All I can say is that what you will see is something very beautiful. We have taken a more artistic approach!

The above is also confirmed by our information. What Fokas Evangelinos and the Greek artistic team plan very carefully and in every detail, is something very classy and elegant, which will match the atmosphere of the song.

Sweden: Grand Final of Melodifestivalen 2022 takes place tonight!

Melodifestivalen 2022: act sixth! Grand Final today for the selection process of Sweden’s participation in Eurovision 2022. As is known, five semifinals and the grand final will keep us company until today, when we will have the official selection of Sweden’s representative in Eurovision 2022.

Twelve artists are competing in tonight’s grand final of the Swedish national team, with the winner representing the Scandinavian country in May in Turin. The finalists of the grand final are:

Voting

The results of Melodifestivalen 2022 at the final show, get determined 50-50 by the televotes and the votes of the eight countries that will comprise the international jury.

These eight countries of the international jury this year will be:

  • The Netherlands
  • Finland
  • Spain
  • Australia
  • Czech Republic
  • Ireland
  • Israel
  • Italy

Starting from last year, the viewers vote in age groups. At the final show there is no longer the possibility to vote by SMS, as the Melodifestivalen production team commented the SMS votes were minimal. One either can vote by phone or with the use of the Melodifestivalen app.

Before being able to vote, one must register their age. The viewers are allocated into the following seven age groups:

  • 3-9 years old, Green group
  • 10-15 years old, Turquoise group
  • 16-29 years old, Blue group
  • 30-44 years old, Purple group
  • 45-59 years old, Pink group
  • 60-74 years old, Red group
  • 75 years old and above, Orange group

There are eight categories in all, one is the televoting and the rest are the seven age-groups. Each category gives 58 points in total at the finals, distributed to the acts accordingly. Also the change of the number of countries in the international jury, from eleven to eight was implemented so that the number of countries match the number of voting categories of the public. At the end of the voting process, the juries will decide 50% of the votes and the public vote will provide the remaining 50% of the points.

Oscar Zia will be the presenter of all six shows of Melodifestivalen 2022.

Tonight’s final, like all other shows, will be held in Stockholm due to the outbreak of the Omicron variant in Sweden. The venue for the second semi-final of Melodifestivalen is the Friends Arena, which has hosted the finals of the Melodifestivalen from 2013 to 2020.
