Bulgaria: “A fan created this whole story”, BNT answers | EXCLUSIVE

The whole Eurovision community, of course, has been dealing with Bulgaria since the morning and what is finally going to happen on 15/3, which also has to do with Kristian Kostov. Eurovisionfun addressed the Intelligent Music Project, who were also surprised to see the developments from the morning. According to the answer given to them by the country’s public television, the confusion was created by a fan of the contest who had access to the BNT account. The tweets have been deleted and now the topic is considered over!

What happened

For everything that happened in the morning, you can read our relevant article. In short, two of today’s tweets were enough to trigger literally countless scenarios, regarding the country’s participation in this year’s competition and Kristian Kostov’s involvement in it.

All this resulted in a rise in Bulgaria in betting, which reached the third place, from 39th in the morning.

Eurovisionfun contacted a representative of the Intelligent Music Project to clarify the situation, who told us the following:

BNT’s respond is that the author of these posts is a fan and now the posts have been deleted.

Kristian Kostov’s answer

Kristian Kostov also had no knowledge on the subject, who recently tweeted, thanked all the fans of the contest for the love he received today with their messages and comments and expressed his desire to return to the stage of the contest, sometime in the future.

This is how the today’s drama in Eurovision world ended!

Bulgaria: Enigmatic tweet from public television with Kristian Kostov!

A tweet on the official account of Bulgarian public television for the Eurovision Song Contest has sparked scenarios and rumors.

This tweet mentions some lyrics of Intention, the song with which the Intelligent Music Project will represent Bulgaria at Eurovision 2022, there is a photo of Kristian Kostov and writes soon…

BNT then posted another tweet. Probably a date: 15/03, ie March 15. Obviously then they will reveal this surprise. By the way, on March 15, Kristian Kostov has his birthday!

What makes the story more interesting is that they have deleted all the tweets related to the Intelligent Music Project, even the retweet for the band’s participation in the Eurovision pre party in Amsterdam!

We remind you that Kristian Kostov represented Bulgaria at Eurovision 2017, occupying the second place, the best place the country has ever taken in the competition.

What can the above mean? Is it just a collaboration of the Intelligent Music Project with Kristian Kostov? Will they do a cover of Intention together or is it something bigger?

We will find out soon…

Germany: Interview with Malik Harris | With “Rockstars” in Germany 12 Points! (Video)

Following the announcement of his participation in this year’s German national final, Germany 12 Points, Malik Harris speaks exclusively to EurovisionFun and Apostolos Bogiannos and Apostolis Matamis.

Malik is one of the six finalists in the German national final for Eurovision 2022, and will try to represent his country with the song “Rockstars”.

I wrote “Rockstars” last year and a few weeks ago a friend asked me if I would ever consider being at Eurovision and I said “I do not know, but I have the song that works for this purpose”. This is because it is quite personal and something different than what Germany usually does. Why not? It all starts with the right song after all. We grow up and initially live with a childish and carefree sense of life because when we are children everything around us is so simple. And growing up the thoughts and worries come and so have I been in recent years, especially now with Covid, and I recall how happy I was when I was little and how much that changes over time. Thus, the deeper meaning of “Rockstars” is not to live by constantly recalling the past. To keep the good moments from it but to see the good moments of today and to walk according to them.

Regarding his stage appearance in the national final, he stated that:

The staging will be very emotional. It’s the first song I wrote and it made me cry. And I will try to convey its meaning on stage.

Although he likes all the fellow songs, he singles out those of Felicia Lu and Maël & Jonas.

His favorite German participation is that of Lena (2010) ,while from the competition he generally distinguishes the participations of Måneskin (Italy 2021) and Duncan Laurence (Netherlands 2019).

If he chose a Eurostar to work with, it would be Måneskin (Italy 2021).

Malik is half American in origin and thinks it would be a great honor for him if he could present a song live in so many people, representing his country, Germany.

Shortly before the end of the interview, Malik gave us a part of his participation.

Russia: Three artists for the final selection | Dream Team’s participation is in doubt | EXCLUSIVE

This year’s entry of Russia in the Eurovision Song Contest will literally be announced in the last minute. The country’s public television, even at the time of writing, has not yet reached the song, nor the artist, who will represent Russia in Turin, with three names remaining on the table.

Three artists are still in the crisis of the Russian public television, Russia 1, for the representation of the country in Eurovision 2022. Although we are in the last ten days of February, Russia 1 has not made its final decisions.

Today 22/2, the Dream Team had another meeting for this purpose, with the management of the Russian public television, to discuss these three names. Two of them are women and one is a male artist.

According to our exclusive information, the Dream Team would undertake the difficult task of this year’s Russian representation in the competition (judging by the general political developments), in case one of the two artists they have proposed to Russia 1 for several months was selected. However, if the third artist on this list is finally selected, then the possibility that Dream Team will not represent Russia this year is the most probable.

The final decision as mentioned above has not been made, although it is expected to be finalized in the next 24 hours. Of course, due to time pressure, the song will be released at the end of the deadline, ie on the weekend of March 12-13.

We are waiting with interest for the final decisions of the Russian public television, on which, of course, the decisions of the Dream Team will depend. The only thing that is certain is that Russia will normally take part in Eurovision 2022, regardless of political developments.

The Netherlands: S10’s song to be released on March 3rd!

S10 is an emerging artist of the indie/alternative music scene. We also know that her participation will be entirely in the Dutch language, which makes her the first since 2010 to represent the country in their native language, after Sieneke and her song Ik ben verlierf (Sha-la-lie).

The last few days there were rumors by local media of the country about the song’s release date being Thursday, March 3rd!

Today, both the Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS and S10 herself, officially announced that the rumors were true, placing the release of the song on Thursday, March 3rd.

Slovenia: LPS’ Disko will remain in Slovenian!

The Slovenian broadcaster, RTVSLO, announced that LPS, Slovenia’s representatives in Turin, have decided to keep the song “Disko” in their native language!

LPS won EMA 2022 and therefore secured their ticket to Italy. Their journey started at EMA Freš, a qualifying event organised by RTVSLO for unestablished artists where they came second in the jury, giving them a qualification for the semi-finals of EMA 2022.

Their song “Disko” is entirely in Slovenian. The song was written by all five members of the band in August during a rehearsal at Gimnazija Celje – Center. In an interview with MMC, they revealed that they do not intend to change the lyrics, as they are based on several true events.

LPS’ victory was a surprise for them as well, with the band having rapid success in recent months. From a high school band, the five of them are now preparing for the stage in Turin. As they say, they haven’t thought much about the staging in Italy, but have been rehearsing a lot for EMA 2022. They also added that, above all, the plan is to enjoy the experience that is the Eurovision Song Contest.

Music is our way of life and performing at Eurovision will mean a lot to us.

Ukraine: The thriller ends | Kalush Orchestra goes to Turin!

This year’s thriller with the Ukrainian participation in Eurovision 2022, has just ended. According to the country’s public television official announcement, the Kalush Orchestra will eventually represent the country in Turin after the withdrawal of national final winner Alina Pash from the process.

It may have been a whole week since the end of Vidbir, the national final for Eurovision, but Ukraine has only managed to find a representative today. The forced withdrawal of Alina Pash, since according to the complaints, she presented fake entry certificates for her trip to Crimea in 2015, brought a domino of developments with the final result that the Kalush Orchestra took over the representation of the country in the competition.

The Kalush Orchestra with their song Stefania took second place in Vidbir 2022, but having received the most votes from the audience. On Thursday (17/2), the Ukrainian public television addressed a request to the band, to replace Alina Pash in Eurovision 2022.

We remind you that the Kalush Orchestra had denounced the process after their defeat in the national final, claiming that these were the real winners.

Do you think that Kalush Orchestra’s Stefania is a better choice for Ukraine in the contest than Alina Pash?
