Lithuania: Ieva returns to “Pabandom iš Naujo!” with many hopes!

Ieva Zasimauskaite hopes to return to the Eurovision stage after four years. She participates again in the Lithuanian national final for the contest.

As we revealed through our social media, we are one of the lucky ones to hear I’ll Be There in advance. Of course the song is in Ieva’s familiar style. It is a ballad, with not as slow tempo as her entry in 2018. The song is built throughout its duration. It starts with a simpler orchestration while in the second part it fills up and we hear some percussion. Its melody is easy to remember, while Ieva’s interpretation fills the listener with emotions and images. On the bridge the song becomes audible, to be completed with a quiet melodic erasure.

Ieva’s appearance in the second qualifying round of Pabandom iš Naujo! expected simple but impressive. The rehearsals started today and what we can reveal to you is that we will see a quite different Ieva compared to her previous participation. We will see more of her feminine side, without of course always losing her elegance.

The video clip of I’ll Be There will be released on Saturday 15/1, the same day that Ieva will present it live for the first time, during the second qualifying round of Pabandom iš Naujo !.

Until then, let ‘s remember once again When We’re Old, with which Ieva won the twelfth place at Eurovision 2018.

Norway: The first information about the songs of MGP 2022!

Anders Tangen, a member of the Norwegian Eurovision news site escNorge, has also listened to excerpts from the songs and in a recent podcast gave him the following information!

  • The competition is more open than against TIX vs. Keiino of 2021
  • One of the direct finalists has a disappointing song (it could be NorthKid)
  • There are two heavy-metal / rock songs, one from an internationally known band (it could be Gaahls Wyrd), while the other was created specifically for the national final
  • A famous personality takes part and seems to be returning to the competition, although the artist does not have a good song
  • There is a dynamic ballad by a singer that was part of a successful duet (it seems to be Elsie Bay from Elsa & Emilie, who wrote last year’s “Witch Woods”)
  • This year has strong ballads, which could contribute to great success at Eurovision
  • There will be no genres like “rølp” or “russemusikk”
  • There is a country song by an artist who has participated in a music show (it could be one of Steffen Jakobsen, Ingvar Olsen or Kristian Raanes. If it is Ingvar, the song may have been written by Mørland (Norway 2015) after they have worked together in the past)
  • There are several up and coming artists from music shows like The Voice or Idol
  • One of the artists has been used on vocals for Norway (it could be Bjørnar Reime found on vocals in 2015 or Øyvind Boye Løvold who supported with his voice in 2010 and 2011)

We remind you that tomorrow, January 10, at 13:30 cet, the 21 artists will be announced as well as their songs, something that has to be done from 2019, in order to claim the coveted ticket to Turin!

Italy: The Mayor of Turin reviews the preparations of the Eurovision Song Contest tomorrow

Tomorrow, January 10, 2022, Stefano Lo Russo, Mayor of Turin, will meet with Culture Advisor Rosanna Purchia and Tourism and Event Advisor Mimmo Carretta to review the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

According to the newspaper “La Stampa“, the summit will also discuss adjustments to the preparation of the event due to Covid-19. As long as the competition is going to take place, the organization of all side events must necessarily adjust according to the state of the pandemic.

According to the Turin newspaper, the event is going on and sponsorship problems would be resolved in order to meet in the best possible way the expectations of the financial categories of Turin. There should also be no problems in the production of the event, which will be attended by local companies and professionals. All those working on the Eurovision Song Contest hope that the infections will reach a peak in the coming weeks and that the increase in vaccination coverage will allow for a reduction of the measures.

The semifinal allocation draw is going to take place on January 25. The handover ceremony between Rotterdam and Turin will also take place during this ceremony. The event, to be held at the Palazzo Madama, is expected to be attended by about 100 people, including a delegation from the Netherlands, led by Rotterdam Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb, RAI and EBU leaders. A revision of the framework program is likely in the light of the evolution of infections in Italy and the rest of Europe.

We remind you that the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 is going to take place on May 10, 12 and 14 at the PalaOlimpico in Turin.
