Moldova: Natalia Gordienko goes to Moscow to record her Eurovision 2021 entry!

Natalia Gordienko, Moldova’s representative at Eurovision 2021, will travel to Moscow today to record the song with which she will participate in the contest.

Although originally the plan was for Natalia Gordienko to record her entry in Athens in the studio of Dimitris Kontopoulos, the travel bans changed the plans and thus the solution of Moscow was found, in which both Dimitris Kontopoulos and Elias Kokotos have already arrived.

So after the recording of Uku Suviste, which you read about in our previous article, it’s time for Moldova. As in this year’s contest and if of course Uku manages to win Eesti Laul again, the Dream Team will have three songs (Greece, Moldova, Estonia), at least for now…

As we have already mentioned, Natalia Gordienko’s song for Eurovision 2021 is not reminiscent of her song in this year’s contest. This is an uptempo piece that will reveal the sexy side of Natalia and will not leave anyone indifferent.

After the recording of Natalia Gordienko is completed, Dimitris Kontopoulos and Elias Kokotos will return to Athens for the recording of Stefania’s songs.

Stay tuned to Eurovision Fun for all the developments related to Moldova’s entry in Eurovision Song Contest 2021!

VAL’s answer to BTRC for Eurovision 2021: “We made our choice and BTRC made theirs”!

One day after the announcement of the Belarusian Public Broadcaster (BTRC) that VAL will not represent the country in Eurovision 2021 because they have no conscience, the band gave their own answer and explanation through their instagram profile, typically saying that they made their choice, not being able to tolerate the violence and injustice that prevails in their country.

The group has been on the side of the protesters since the first day of the anti-government protests in Minsk and all other major cities in Belarus, making it known through their social media profiles. So the decision of the BTRC did not come like lightning in the air, we would probably say the opposite.

Their response throws any bridges that could exist, as they accuse the Lukashenko regime of violence, injustice and freedom. Eurovision’s dream ends here for the VALs, who, however, seem fully aware, since, as they say, they were fully aware of the consequences of their actions.

Six months later, we finally heard a response from BTRC regarding our possible participation in Eurovision 2021.

The official release says that we will not represent Belarus at the competition in May, because we “have no conscience”.

The trigger, as we understand it, was our active citizenship — a frank interview for the @ilinterviews project and a weekly video message for our listeners.

To say that we are very upset would be to deceive ourselves. When we took certain steps, we understood the possible consequences.

For us, such concepts as honor, decency, freedom, respect, love and, most importantly, people’s lives are much more important than personal preferences from any current state organization.

The preparation for Eurovision was a joint work of our creative team and BTRC. We made every effort to adequately represent Belarus at the international level. VAL put their whole soul into this work. Precisely because artists have a soul, we could not ignore the violence and injustice that swept Belarus. We made our choice. And BTRC made theirs.

We will always be together with our listeners!

Thank you for such warm support !!!

Together, until the end, forever!

VAL for BTRC decision

Cyprus: Eleni Foureira’s decision for Eurovision 2021!

This morning, through the show Eftychite in Open TV, the journalist Giannis Poulopoulos, gave an answer to the question that tormented the fans of the Eurovision Song Contest the previous days.

According to information from the record company Panik Records, Eleni Foureira will not represent Cyprus in Eurovision 2021.

The reasons for her refusal, according to the journalist, are not that she does not want to be back on the music scene of the contest, but she would like to do it when the conditions with the coronavirus are better and Eurovision can be done normally in the way we all know.

Finally, both he and Nikos Georgiadis, a journalist and friend of Kalomira, confirmed that the latter is in discussions for the representation of the island of Aphrodite in Eurovision 2021. The same applies to Elias Koza.

Will Kalomira, Elias Kozas or someone else represent Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021?

Italy: RAI’s decisions for Sanremo 2021!

Following the ambiguous statements of the artistic director and presenter of the festival, Amadeus and the general director of RAI1, Stefano Coletta, the Italian public television clarifies that Sanremo 2021 will take place with an audience, while describing how this will happen.

In early September, Amadeus said in an interview that RAI did not have a Plan B for Sanremo 2021 and that if the pandemic did not allow the physical presence of the public on the stands of the Teatro Ariston and the members of the live orchestra, then the festival would not take place at all. Then Stefano Coletta, director of RAI1, denied Amadeus, saying that it is not possible to have a year without Sanremo, since there are big contracts with commercials and that what will happen if the festival is not possible in March, is to be postponed for later.

RAI is now clarifying that Sanremo 2021 will take place normally with an audience and even unexpectedly on the dates that have already been announced (March 2-6). The number of the audience that will be in Ariston will be decided later and those who finally manage and secure a ticket, to enter the event must have a negative test for COVID-19, while there will be thermal cameras throughout, for continuous monitoring of suspected cases.

There are many details that still need to be resolved, such as the number of accredited journalists, the arrangement of the members of the live orchestra, etc. The change of dates of Sanremo 2021 will take place only in the last case when it will not be possible for the festival to take place in March.

We remind you that on December 17, in the final night of selection of the six artists (two more will be selected by the AreaSanremo academy) of the “Giovani” category, through the frequency of RAI1 we will find out the names of the candidates in the big category. We are also waiting for the regulations of Sanremo 2021, to see if in 2021 Italy will finally choose its representative in Eurovision through the Festival or if Diodato or another artist will be re-selected, with internal selection.

Estonia: Uku Suviste records his Eurovision entry The first information about the song!

Uku Suviste started recording his song for Eurovision 2021. This year’s winner of Eesti Laul. has already secured his place in the semifinals of the Estonian selection, where he will participate again with a song by Dimitris Kontopoulos and Sharon Vaughn. Eurovision Fun presents you exclusively, the first information about the song!

First of all, let’s say that Uku Suviste was scheduled to come to Athens to record the song, but travel restrictions prevented him due to the pandemic.

With the help of technology and with Uku in Tallinn and Dimitris Kontopoulos in Athens, the recording of the song started yesterday (21/9). It is worth mentioning that Victoria Chalkiti is the vocal coach, as she will be a vocal coach with Natalia Gordienko too.

The first information about the song

We are glad to have heard the song and we convey to you exclusively the first information. This is something completely different from What Love Is, the song with which Uku won Eesti Laul 2020. It is not a ballad, but a mid tempo, a completely radiofriendly track, while its lyrics are about a social problem of our ages. If, of course, Uku Suviste wins the Eesti Laul 2021 and represents Estonia again in the contest, Fokas Evangelinos will take over his stage appearance in Rotterdam, as would happen this year as well.

We remind you that the deposit of entries in Estonia lasts until November 6. The announcement of the songs that will compete in the two semifinals of Eesti Laul will be announced on December 5, while the final will take place on March 6. The semifinals will of course precede, which are scheduled for February 18th and 20th.

Kalomira: “I am in negotiations with Cyprus; this year I am open to go to Eurovision”!

In the morning show of Open TV,  journalist Giannis Poulopoulos revealed two more names of artists who are in talks with RIK, in order to represent Cyprus in Eurovision 2021. They are Kalomira and Elias Koza, both former representatives of Greece in the competitio. .

Kalomira is thinking about it

According to what was reported, RIK is in negotiations with Kalomira to represent the country in Rotterdam. In an interview given by Kalomira to a German media and broadcasted on the show, Kalomira seems quite positive in taking this step, compared to previous years.

This year, Stefania, whom I adore, will represent Greece; Cyprus is something I am looking at, who knows, i may represent Cyprus. It’s something I’m talking about, but it may not happen. This time I am open, I want to leave the house, I am closed for two years. There is a possibility that you will see me at Eurovision 2021.

Kalomira

Nikos Georgiadis, who is on the show’s panel and is a friend of Kalomira, explained that the difference this year for Kalomira compared to previous years, is that schools in the US are done remotely and so she can move with her family for the needs of the contest. This will be Kalomira’s second participation in the Eurovision Song Contest, if the discussions finally succeed, after the third place she won in 2008, with My Secret Combination.

Elias Kozas as a solo artist

Another artist who is in contact with RIK is Elias Kozas, who is discussing returning to the competition as a solo artist and without his band, Koza Mostra. Elias together with his band and Agathonas in 2013 brought Greece for the last time in the top 10 of the final score, with the song of Alcohol Is Free.

We remind you that this week we are expecting Alex Papaconstantinou’s meeting with Eleni Foureira, in order to clarify the landscape regarding the possibility of her returning to the competition. As we have written in our previous articles, RIK has many valuable options and shows that it is not in a hurry to end up.

Helena Paparizou: “I would return to Eurovision”

Helena Paparizou was invited today at Kalo Mesimeraki, a greek tv show, and revealed to the host of the show, Nikos Moutsinas, that she would like to return on the Eurovision stage. The only condition for her is the existence of a suitable song.

This statement, from the sole yet winner for Greece, adds fuel to the fire of those who claim every year that she’s returning to the contest. It is worth mentioning that such a statement comes only two days after she was declared the winner of Eurovision 2005 at the Eurovision Again Event on Twitter.

More specifically the exact words of hers were:

Had I had the right song, I would be taking part again. Just like the way it happened back in 2005 with My Number One. I remember myself home, sitting at the family table and half of my people were saying not to go to Eurovision, since I was at the beginning of my solo career. I slammed my arms on the table and I said “I’m already there, I’m going!”. I didn’t know, of course with which song. Mentally I was ready to take part to the competition.

It remains to be seen whether Helena’s statements will herald developments for her long-awaited return to Eurovision.

Until then you can enjoy her new song which was released a few hours ago.
