Ochman finished in 12th place for Poland in the Eurovision grand final with the song “River”. This is the best result for Poland in the competition since 2016 when Michał Szpak finished 8th in Stockholm.

What exactly is live on tape video?

According to what was announced, all participating broadcasters were asked to record a live performance of their participation. This recording will be delivered before the competition and will take place in a studio. The recording will take place in real time (as it would be in the Competition) without making any changes to the vocals or any part of the performance itself after the recording. There will be freedom for the delegations to present their entries as they see fit, but instructions will have been given to ensure the fairness and integrity of the competition. There will be no audience and the recording should be unique and not published before the event in May. Delegations are allowed to use similar technical capabilities and dimensions that would be available on stage in Turin, but they are also free to choose a more limited production facility. Video recordings must not contain augmented or virtual reality, overlays, confetti, drone shots, water, color use or green screen. It is the second year that live on tape videos are required from all participants. This video will be used instead of a live performance on the stage in Turin, in case that a delegation cannot travel in May or a member of the delegation falls ill with coronavirus and the first rehearsal has not taken place.

Poland: The announcement of TVP on the cancellation of their jury’s votes!

Telewizja Polska has published their first statements regarding the cancellation of their jury’s vote in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

Eurowizja.org reports that the Polish TV station has made its first comments on the jury vote in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. The six countries whose jury votes were removed from the contest and replaced by the EBU with results based on previous voting patterns are: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Montenegro, Montenegro, Poland, Romania and San Marino.

TVP’s statement mentions the following:

Telewizja Polska categorically rejects all accusations made against Polish jurors as groundless and absurd. The jurors voted solely as they felt and at their discretion, without taking into account any algorithm, not even the EBU algorithm. By judging Ukraine as the highest, the jurors expressed their independence and the lack of any relationship between their scores and the votes cast by other countries for Poland.
In the coming days, Telewizja Polska will explain the situation with representatives of the European Broadcasting Union, which is the organizer of the Eurovision Song Contest. They will be presented with a TVP protest and a demand to improve the transparency of voting and the method of awarding points, so as to avoid unnecessary confusion that occurred this year in the future.
Ochman finished 12th in the grand final for Poland with the song “River”. This is the best result for Poland in the competition since 2016, when Michał Szpak placed 8th in Stockholm.

Eurovision 2022: Poland’s Second Rehearsal!

Coming up is Poland, one of the odds’ favourite to win Eurovision 2022. Poland didn’t seem to impress on the first rehearsal, as they start falling places at the odds. During his first rehearsal, Ochman appeared in a black suit and four dancers in black clothes and masks, while the fringing gives an ethereal feeling and movement on stage, as if ghosts are circling Ochman. This scene was combined with flashing lights. Will Ochman impress this time with his second rehearsal?

The Second Rehearsal

Poland’s rehearsal starts with a wide shot from above and with black-dark blue lighting, the sound of water adds on to the atmosphere. Ochman is vocally perfect. During the second verse, there are graphics with water drops displaying on screen. In the second chorus, the graphics shake and give an earthquake effect with lightnings. The dancers, who are shown at the beginning standing on the B stage, join Ochman on the main stage. The performance is atmospheric and powerful with excellent use of lights. His face expressions are quite clumsy, but it’s a sure qualification for Poland.

Krystian Ochman was born in 1999 to a Polish family in MassachusettsUnited States. He moved to Poland as a teenager  in Katowice, where he studied at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music

In 2020, he auditioned for The Voice Poland, which he won and joined Poland’s Eurovision 2016 representative Michał Szpak’s team.

After his victory on The Voice, the singer released his debut single, Światłocienie. The song got off to a great start, clocking up over 300,000 streams on Spotify in its first week alone. More hits followed, and in November 2021, he went on to release his self-titled debut album.

The Rehearsal

Ochman appears in a black suit and four dancers in black clothes and masks, while the fringing gives an ethereal feeling and movement on stage, as if ghosts are circling Okman. Perhaps it is similar to the video-clip? This scene is combined with  flashing lights.

At the same time, the song harmonizes both with the watery graphicsin the background and with the waterfall that exists on the stage.

Poland: Interview with Kuba Szmajkowski | Τhe Voice Kids, Eleni Foureira and his participation in Tu bije serce Europy! Wybieramy hity na Eurowizję! (Video)

After the announcement of his taking part in this year’s Polish national final, Tu bije serce Europy! Wybieramy hity na Eurowizie, Kuba Szmajkowski speaks exclusively to EurovisionFun and Apostolos Bogiannos.

Kuba is one of the finalists of the national final of Poland for Eurovision 2022, and he eill try to represent his country with the song “Lovesick”.

I am a big fan of Eurovision and always wanted to take part in Poland’s national final and I really thought I could do it after listening to “Lovesick”. So I submitted it. I was shocked when I learned that it will be a live performance and selection of the winner, but I am grateful and I look forward to that night. It will be very entertaining for the public. I want to tell a personal story through my lyrics. It is one of my most important songs. It was written for the contest from the start by Polish and Swedish creators. It was the best possible team and they give me a lot of positive energy.

Asked about his staging in the national final, Kuba said:

I can’t say a lot of things about my staging but there will be fire on stage. There will be choreography, dancers on stage and you will surely love it.

From the other competing songs he likes those of Daria and Karolina Stanisławczyk feat. Chika Toro.

His favorite Polish entry are those of Michał Szpak (2016) and Edyta Górniak (1994) while from the contest in general the songs that stand out for him are those of Eleni Foureira (Cyprus 2018) and Måns Zelmerlöw (Sweden 2015).

If he could collaborate with a Eurostar that would be Eleni Foureira (Cyprus 2018) who as he states, he admires a lot. He would also choose Helena Paparizou (Greece 2025) and Luca Hänni (Switzerland 2019).

Kuba’s first step was through The Voice Kids of Poland and later through a music boy-band.
