Eurovision 2023: Semi-Final running orders will be revealed tomorrow!

Τhrough the official Eurovision account on Twitter, it became known that tomorrow the running order of the countries in the two semi-finals of May 9 and 11 will be announced.

The draw for the semi-finals took place on 31 January at St George’s Hall in Liverpool, where the official handover of the tournament emblem from Turin to Liverpool took place. After a draw, the distribution of the 31 countries competing this year in two semi-finals as well as in which half of the show each country will appear. 15 countries compete in the first semi-final, while 16 countries compete in the second.

The results obtained were the following:

The exact running order  will not be random but will be determined in a way that serves the flow of the show and keeps the viewer interested!

The running order will be announced with the first broadcast on the Eurovision channel on YouTube, tomorrow at 19:00 CET  in the form of a recap of the two semi-finals that will also include the exact running order.

Finland: The International Juries of UMK 2023!

A little while ago, the Finnish broadcaster announced the 7 countries that will make up the International Juries for the UMK 2023 final. These are:

  • Australia
  • Germany
  • Poland
  • Spain
  • Sweden
  • United Kingdom
  • Ukraine

The international juries that will have a 25% say in the results of UMK 2023 have been announced.

The running order of the 7 artists who will compete in the UMK 2023 final is as follows:

  1. Robin Packalen – “Girls Like You“
  2. KUUMMA – “Ylivoimainen” (Overpowered)
  3. Käärijä  – “Cha Cha Cha“
  4. Keira – “No Business on the Dancefloor“
  5. Benjamin – “Hoida mut” (Take care of me)
  6. Lxandra – “Something to Lose“
  7. Portion Boys – “Samaa taivasta katsotaan” (We look at the same sky)

Yle also revealed some information about the commentary of UMK 2023. There will be commentary in eight different languages (Finnish, Swedish, English, English, Russian, Northern Sami and Inari Sami), sign language commentary provided by Miguel Peltomaa and for the first time there will be commentary in Ukrainian provided by Galyna Sergeyeva.

The national final is scheduled to take place on February 25th. UMK 2023 will be held in Turku with Samu Haber as the host, while the winner and Finland’s representative at Eurovision 2023 will be determined 25% by the international jury voting and 75% by the public vote.

Norway: Τhe running order of the Grand Final of MGP 2023!

Melodi Grand Prix 2023, the national final for Norway’s next Eurovision entry, is coming to a close with the 9 finalists vying for the golden ticket to Liverpool this Saturday.

After three semi-finals and a new voting system it’s time for the grand final. A little while ago, the country’s public television, NRK, released the line-up for this year’s Melodi Grand Prix final:

The running order of the Grand Final

  1. JONE — “Ekko inni meg” (Echo in me)
  2. Eline Thorp — “Not Meant to Be”
  3. Skrellex — “Love Again”
  4. Ulrikke Brandstorp – “Honestly“
  5. Umami Tsunami – “Geronimo“
  6. Atle Pettersen — “Masterpiece” 
  7. Swing’it — “Prohibition”
  8. Elsie Bay — “Love you in a dream”
  9. Alessandra Mele – “Queen of Kings“

In the Grand Final, for the first time since 2019, there will also be an international jury that will determine 50% of the result while the remaining 50% will be determined by the public vote. This year’s Melodi Grand Prix presenters will be presenter Arian Engebø and singer Stian Thorbjørnsen who has also participated in MGP in 2015 and 2021.

An extra addition to this year’s national final, is that NRK decided to give the contestants the opportunity to use Auto-Tune in their performances so that they can be more perfect vocally.

Sweden: On January 11 the announcement of the Line-up for Melodifestivalen 2023!

The countdown has officially begun! A little while ago it was announced through the official account of Melodifestivalen on Instagram that on Wednesday January 11 at 12:00 the official running order for the semi-finals of Melodifestivalen 2023 will be announced. Let us remind you that the order of appearance is determined every year by SVT with television, musical but also other criteria related to the production of the television show, in order to give the best possible result in each semi-final for all contestants.

Heat 2: Linköping, 11 February 2023 (Saab Arena)

Junior Eurovision 2022: Running order released!

Earlier today, the Junior Eurovision Song Contest kicked off after the Opening Ceremony took place in Yerevan, Armenia hosted by Dalita Avanessian, Hamlet Arakelyan and Aram MP3, while a little later the order of appearance for the final of this year’s event was also made public.

During the Opening Ceremony , three places in the order of appearance were decided. Specifically, the country that will appear first, the country that will appear last, and the position in which Armenia will appear. The draw took place at the National Gallery of Armenia, while the rest of the line-up was decided by the Junior Eurovision 2022 producers after the ceremony.

Eurovision 2022: Check in which half the ten finalists of the second semi-final were drawn!

The second semi-final has just finished, with the last ten finalists being Australia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, Poland, Russia, Serbia and Sweden!

Through the press conference that is currently taking place these ten countries will choose the half in which they will appear in the Grand Final on Saturday.

This is the half each qualifier drew:

  4. Poland – 2nd half

Twan van de Nieuwenhuizen: “Keep an eye on the UK!”

A few hours ago Twan van de Nieuwenhuizen, the head of this year’s competition, was interviewed on Dutch radio, directing the countries with ideas for their performances and having the most important say in the creation of the countries’ running order.

Among other things, he said:

“The main goal of the running order is to be put together in such a way that it keeps the audience’s interest throughout the shows. Latvia appears after Albania, as its performance features fresh sounds, unlike Albania’s darker appearance. Finland has an ambitious stage presence, and keep an eye on the UK!”

He goes on to say that by the song submission deadline, each delegation had to provide a file that included the intended image and sense of each entry. He points out that this document is becoming increasingly detailed! In fact, last year’s document from Italy consisted of 88 pages on the Maneskin performance!

Finally, he states that the use of water in the performances will no longer be allowed (since last year), for safety reasons.

Recall that Twan van de Nieuwenhuizen, producer of last year’s Eurovision, had mentioned that Greece was the country that would try something for the first time on stage, which was also confirmed by Telegraaf!

It therefore remains to be seen whether the UK will live up to the high expectations in Turin this May!

Sweden: The running order of the Final show of Melodifestivalen 2022 just got revealed!

SVT just announced the running order of the contestants that will have to compete with each other next Saturday, March 12, at the finals of Melodifestivalen 2022, claiming a ticket to Turin, at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. We remind you that the final show of the Swedish national selection process will take place once more at Friends Arena.

The running order is determined, each year, by the production team of Melodifestivalen, taking into consideration both the competing songs’ musical qualities as well as stage performance and other production considerations and can be seen below:

Melodifestivalen 2022 final show will he held on the 12th of March, when we will get to know who will be selected as a representative for Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin!

Junior Eurovision 2019: Here is the full running order

Earlier today, the Junior Eurovision Song Contest kicked off after the Opening Ceremony took place at the Theatre of Silesia in the Polish city of Katowice. All the 19 junior participants walked on the red carpet, introducing themselves and their countries alongside, of course, with hundreds of photos been taken.

After this inaugural show with 4Dreamers on stage, the draw for the country which will compete first, last as the running order of the hosting country,traditionally took place. Roksana Wegiel, last year’s winner, did the draw and the results are as follows:

-Hosting Country (Polland): 11th
