Serbia: Hurricane split one year after Eurovision!

The producers of  Hurricane announced that the members of the group will not make music together. They claim that there was no disagreement during the collapse of the group and that the members made such a decision because they were tired due to the heavy load of the industry. Although Hurricane fell apart, they stated that the band’s name would be would be preserved and that the band would re-enter the music world with different members.

The statement for the split of the group came from their production company:

After a five-year successful collaboration, which peaked this year, we are obliged to inform the public and the media about the novelties in our production team and further activities! Hurricane Group Members – Sanja Vucic, Ivana Nikolic, and Ksenija Knežević’s contracts expire in September this year, so we have jointly decided not to renew the contract, as it did not fit our team’s new business plans.

Thanks to the fans, the audience, and the great interest, a farewell tour is being prepared that will continue until November, in which the media and the public will be informed over time. It was an immense honor to work with Sanja, Ivan, and Ksenija who have proven to be stars and professionals over the past five years thanks to their hard work, dedication, and talent!

As a production company, we would like to state that Hurricane has never let us down. For this reason, we reiterate once again that the decision to terminate the cooperation was taken by mutual agreement. In other words, our friendly relations, which are very rare in this profession, remain intact and there is no room for doubt in this regard. In these five years of wonderfully successful collaboration, Sanja, Ksenija and Ivana have had to neglect their families and private lives, even during their vacations — just as other musicians work as the industry brings — so we all need a break and rest. Of course, each of them will take greater steps to achieve careers that will fit their plans and expectations, we wish them greater success than the successes achieved during our collaboration.

As a result of all this, we have decided that Hurricane will go on tour with a few new songs that will polish and complement their efforts and success in this formation. On the other hand, we would like to state that half of our quota is already full and we will do our best to meet the expectations of everyone who wants to participate in this farewell tour.

After all, we should sometimes end certain collaboration when everything planned is realized, and as we have realized it, we have agreed that it is a smart and wise decision for everyone to put an end to working together for now. In the next few months, we will enjoy and have fun through songs and music, which has been our channel of communication with our supporters for the past five years. In addition, we would like to inform you that the members of the group Sanja, Ivana, and Ksenija will not be guesting or giving interviews on any media channels until September, except for the promotion of new songs. Also, please note that a new lineup of Hurricane group members is being formed.

Hurricane participated in the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Loco Loco  , finishing 15th with 102 points.

Serbia: Interview with Boris Subotić from Pesma Za Evroviziju 2022!

After the announcement of his participation in this year’s Serbian national final, Pesma Za Evroviziju 2022, Boris Subotić talks exclusively to EurovisionFun and Konstantinos Thermos.

Boris Subotić is participating in the national final with the song “Vrati mi” (Give me back) and is one of the 36 nominated artists who will compete on 3, 4 and 5 March for the ticket to represent Serbia in Turin in May.

– Boris, it is a great pleasure for us that you accepted our proposal and we thank you for that! First of all we would like to ask you, why Pesma Za Evroviziju? Why Eurovision? And why now? What made you take this decision and is it, perhaps, something you have wanted for a long time?

– Eurovision has been my biggest wish for a long time, so I knew that sooner or later I would apply for the selection of the representative. I waited a long time for this, because I thought I had to grow up enough to be able to take on this project. My main partner, Miloš Marković, suggested that we apply, I agreed and here I am!

– You have participated in several music competitions, including the national final to represent Serbia in Junior Eurovision. Would you say that your previous experience will help you have less stress during the competition?

– Since I was exposed to similar competitions as a child, I think I am ready to meet the pace such a competition requires. As for the stress, I think this time I will have the most!

– We know that you have written “Vrati Mi” yourself. What is the message of your song and what inspired you to write it?

– I want to let the audience find their own meaning and message in the song. The song is a reflection of myself from the first verse to the last. For the first time I am totally presenting myself the way I want to and the way I think I should!

– Since your candidacy was officially announced, what was the best comment you have heard about yourself? And correspondingly, has there been anything you’ve heard that you think is wrong or unfair towards you?

– Being a used to exposure, because of my past experiences, I try not to dwell too much on people’s comments. However, I have to admit that I have received a lot of positive feedback, which makes me incredibly happy!

– Do you have any thoughts about your stage presentation in the national final, and if so, could you share something with us?

– I can’t reveal anything at the moment, but the stage presence will definitely follow the song and me as a performer closely!

– Were you a fan of the contest from before? What’s your favorite entry?

– Considering that I am someone who is not overly involved in sports and competitions, I can say that Eurovision is the only contest that I follow closely every year! My favourite song, apart from my country’s entries, is definitely “Don’t come easy” sung by Isaiah in 2017.

– Have you listened to any of this year’s already selected songs or any of the songs from the other national finals, and if so, which ones did you like the most?

– Honestly, right now my life is just focused on my performance and song, so I can’t say I’ve listened to or watched anything this year, but as soon as I get some free time I’ll definitely listen to everything!

– Is there anything you would like to share with those who read this interview?

– I would like to invite people to listen to ¨Vrati mi¨ and if they like it, even half as much as I do, to be by my side on this journey!

At this point we would like to thank Boris Subotić once again for the interview and wish him all the best!

Serbia: Interview with Zorja Pajić from Pesma Za Evroviziju 2022!

After the announcement of her participation in this year’s Serbian national final, Pesma Za Evroviziju 2022, Zorja Pajić talks exclusively to EurovisionFun and Konstantinos Thermos.

Zorja Pajić is participating in the national final with the song “Zorja” and is one of the 36 nominated artists who will compete on 3, 4 and 5 March for the ticket to represent Serbia in Turin in May.

– Zorja, it is a great pleasure for us that you accepted our proposal and we thank you for that! First of all we would like to ask you, why Pesma Za Evroviziju? Why Eurovision? And why now? What made you take this decision and is it, perhaps, something you have wanted for a long time?

– Because it’s a stage where I think I would feel more free than ever! I’m drawn to that Eurovision moment. On stage I feel happy and I want to take it all on a higher level. I have always been able to imagine myself as a representative of Serbia. The audience gives me even more strength to make this wish come true, especially during the Zvezde Granda contest where I participated, when they compared my performances with those of Eurovision, I just couldn’t wait for the next year.

– You became popular in Serbia and the countries of the former Yugoslavia by participating in Zvezde Granda, do you think that the experience you gained there will help you to have less stress during the competition?

– I think for me this experience was the right preparation for Eurovision. On stage I felt a passion that I hadn’t felt before, and now I want even more of it!

– We know that you have written “Zorja” yourself. What is the message of your song and what inspired you to write it?

– The song is called “Zorja”. This title explains that I have a personal relationship with the song, a deep emotional attitude towards it. The lyrics represent my journey towards finding myself, leaving a dark part of life that we all experience at some point. Victory over ourselves, that is the goal. The music describes my feelings and that feeling of release from the burdens that pull you down. Me and my husband, who wrote the music, know very well what that road looks like. The elements of ethnic music, the strings, definitely describe my life. I hope and believe that many people will be able to find themselves in the song, they will find the hope that’s always there waiting for us to use it and live our lives truly, without restrictions.

– Since your candidacy was officially announced, what was the best comment you have heard about yourself? And correspondingly, has there been anything you’ve heard that you think is wrong or unfair towards you?

– The best thing I’ve heard is that people get goosebumps and feel good, positive and inspired after hearing the song, that was our biggest wish! I am surprised that many people see me as the representative. So far I haven’t heard any negative criticism of the song.

– Do you have any thoughts about your stage presentation in the national final, and if so, could you share something with us?

– Yes. It will be like the song, my personal story. Preparations take a lot of time, we all work hard to make the result look and sound the way we imagine. I can reveal one small detail, and that is that I won’t be alone on stage. However, I prefer everything to be a surprise.

– Were you a fan of the contest from before? What’s your favorite entry?

– Of course! I always liked Eurovision as a concept and as something that is the culmination of a music competition of this type. I would imagine myself on that stage from a young age. I was dreaming of representing my country doing what I do best. That dream is now so close to coming true, I will give it my maximum! The place for my favourite song at Eurovision is shared by two songs, Molitva and Rise like a phoenix.

– Have you listened to any of this year’s already selected songs or any of the songs from the other national finals, and if so, which ones did you like the most?

– Honestly, I’ve already heard some that have come out. They don’t sound like our song. I can’t wait to hear them all, like every year so far.

– Is there anything you would like to share with those who read this interview?

– Happiness lies in constantly surpassing yourself, in the constant need for inner growth and development of consciousness. Happiness is being free and finding love in yourself. Be healthy and stay strong in these difficult years for the whole world. Greetings and hugs from Serbia to all readers!

At this point we would like to thank Zorja Pajić once again for the interview and wish her all the best!
