Dimitris Kontopoulos’ #thb for Shady Lady – Which was the initial title of the song?

Without any doubt one of Dream Team’s most successful entries in the contest was Shady Lady, with which Ukraine reached the second place in 2008. Dimitris Kontopoulos, shortly before, published a photo in Instagram with the lyrics of the song and Ani Lorak’s handwritten notes.

Ten years have passed since that entry competed in the Eurovision Song Contest, which was the occasion for the first collaboration of Ani Lorak with Dimitris Kontopoulos, a collaboration that was meant to be the beginning of their friendship. Ani Lorak is often in Greece for business or personal reasons, without losing the opportunity to always meet Dimitris Kontopoulos, Ilias Kokotos and Fokas Evangelinos.

Which was the first title of Shady Lady?

As you can see in Dimitris Komtopoulos’ post, the lyrics of the song was different from the final version. In fact, as Elias Kokotos told us, the original title of the song was Magic Lady. But because of their previous entry in the contest with Belarus in 2007, with the song Work Your Magic, they decided to change the song title to Shady Lady!

Both Ani Lorak and Philipp Kirkorov commented on the post. You can see it below:

Dream Team returns to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2019 under the Russian colors. We still do not know the artist who will take over the country’s representation in Tel Aviv. Dimitris Kontopoulos, Fokas Evangelinos, Alex Panayi, Ilias Kokotos, Philipp Kirkorov, etc., a team that has written its own history in this contest, returns with big expectations. Do you believe they will succeed?
