Russia: The artist for Eurovision 2019 will be revealed on February 9th
While all Russian media reported that the announcement of the Russian representative at Eurovision 2019 would take place on February 1st through the popular “Priamoy efir” television show, this eventually according to our exclusive information is postponed to February 9th.
EurovisionFun is able to confirm that the announcement of the artist who will represent Russia in Tel Aviv will be on 10th of February, through the same TV show. The reason for this short postponement is that it was not possible for Philipp Kirkorov, who composes the song along with Dimitris Kontopoulos and the artist, to find time for the recording of the show which is scheduled to be broadcasted on February 1st.
During the previous week, Dimitris Kontopoulos was in Moscow with Elias Kokotos and Alex Panayis to complete the recording of the song. The Moscow Symphony Orchestra participated in the recording, something that has not yet been done in the competition, with such an important musical ensemble as that orchestra.
Russian media insist that Sergey Lazarev is selected to represent Russia at Eurovision for the second time. The singer who represented Russia in 2016 according to the Russian media was selected by VGTRK, which the broadcaster refused to confirm the news.
The song to be interpreted by the Russian representative in Tel Aviv will be composed by Philip Kirkorov and Dimitris Kontopoulos, with project producer Elias Kokotos. It is also reported that Fokas Evangelinos returns as a choreographer. It is also reported that the song will be a ballad.
Sergey Lazarev represented Russia in 2016 and despite his great victory in televoting, he came third. Russia counts one victory in Eurovision 2008 with Dima Bilan and Believe.
Love with you so much.
