Ireland: Ryan O’Shaughnessy explains how the country can get better results in the contest!

The Irish representative from Eurovision 2028, went on to make a prolonged analysis, on the recent negative results of his country and how they can be fixed, on his personal Twitter page.

Since 2014, Ireland, managed to qualify for the Grand Final, only once, in 2018 with Ryan O’Shaughnessy and his song “Together”.

So it was only natural for the singer to make his statement:

He went on to say that he had to take many things on himself, as he didn’t want to go with the plan he was given by the public television:

«In 2018 when I qualified with the song “Together” I stepped in as creative director after refusing to emerge from an exploding cake and pushed hard to have 2 male dancers on stage with me, which was a hard sell at the time… I was responsible for signing off on final production of the track itself, I hired an independent stylist, and made sure the project as a whole had some content to it and it wasn’t just a song, but a message. All these factors helped get Ireland into the final.»

At the end of his post, Ryan named a couple of ways, that can help in order to change the negative image of Ireland in recent years:

«In my opinion, we need to have Irish songwriting camps with the intention of getting a brilliant song. We also need to allocate a large part of the budget to international marketing and should have the song out at least 4 or 5 months in advance of the competition. We have a language, a culture and a sound to offer the world, if we put forward a real Irish song it will resonate.»

Ryan O’Shaughnessy represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with the song “Together”, finishing in 16th place in the Grand Final, which is the country’s best result in the last eleven years:

Loreen: “I want a woman to win Eurovision this year”

Sweden representative for this year’s Eurovision, Loreen, gave an interview for Greek channel Alpha.  The interview took place during the morning show, Super Katerina, and to journalist Yiannis Poulopoulos .

Loreen who is also the favourite to win Eurovision 2023 spoke about her decision to compete once again in Eurovision and revealed who she would like to win in May in Liverpool.

“It’s not a risk for me (to enter in the competition) because my goal is not to win or lose.  My goal is to create something that matters to me, that will positively impact you. That’s what I’m doing this for!

We are still working together because there was a security issue. I think you won’t be disappointed.

All my stage presence is organic. If you watch the presentation every time it’s a little different with the fog and the wind. You never know how it will end. It might be a little different but it’s for the best.

I would like a woman to win Eurovision this year. And since I’m connected with Alessandra from Norway, and since I share a similar style of music with Paloma… Oh my god, I can’t decide.”

Italy: Blanco’s case to go to court after Sanremo outburst!

This year’s Sanremo has been and will continue to be talked about due to events during the performances of the participating artists and not only, with Blanco‘s guest appearance during the first night of the Festival being a prime example.

Blanco’s appearance made rounds on media inside and outside of Italy, as the artist, in a move that is still debated as to whether it was planned or not, destroyed the flower sets that had been placed as props for his performance, which resulted to damages on the Ariston stage.

Reactions to this move were not limited to the reaction of the public and fans but have now taken a dramatic turn, with the Prosecutor’s Office of Imperia investigating the case on the charge of destruction of property at a public event, a charge punishable by one to five years in prison. The case is expected to go to court in Imperia.

Aside from Blanco, a second legal case is unfolding starring Rosa Chemical and Fedez, over the kiss they shared during contestant Rosa Chemical’s appearance on the final night of the Festival.

Specifically, a representative of the organization Pro Vita & Famiglia (Pro-Life & Family) filed a complaint to the Prosecutor’s Office of Sanremo, arguing that

“(That of Rosa Chemical and Fedez) is a behavior of unprecedented gravity, which has led to a wave of general indignation for the shame, discomfort and revulsion caused by the vulgarity of behavior in the sexual sphere.”

The organization’s lawyer argues that the kiss between the two artists violates articles 529 and 527 of the Criminal Code regarding obscene acts and objects and obscene acts in a public place respectively. Added to the charges is the violation of laws on the protection of minors with regard to the material shown on television until 11 o’clock at night.

For all of the above, RAI seems to be at risk of a fine of up to 600 thousand euros, in the event that it is found guilty.

Spotify: “Snap” has surpassed Måneskin’s “Zitti e Buoni”, becoming the 2nd most-streamed Eurovision song of all times!

We have already talked about the fascinating story of Rosa Linn’s “Snap”, which despite its mediocre success in ESC, is doing great on the streaming platforms.

As of today, “Snap” is not only the most popular Eurovision 2022 song on Spotify, but has also managed to become the 2nd most streamed Eurovision song, surpassing “Zitti e Buoni” by Måneskin.

“Snap” has managed to muster 358 million streams, a few streams more than the ESC 2021’s winning song, and the former’s run doesn’t seem to be stopping there. The only question that remains, is whether Rosa Linn will be able to break Duncan Laurence’s record and surpass the 849 million streams of “Arcade” and become the most streamed Eurovision song of all time!

Below you can watch the new music video of “Snap”, that was released a few time ago:
