The Rehearsal

The singer starts by playing the piano and then he gets up and raps holding a drumstick. Some carpets are on stage. In the second chorus he plays the guitar.

A very intimate performance with warm lighting.

His vocals are pretty good and I have a feeling Germany could do much better than anticipated.

The second run was also pretty good. There were some major delays before the final run started.

Next up on stage for their second rehearsal is the United Kingdom and Sam Ryder with the song “SPACE MAN”.

As the world went into lockdown in March 2020, Sam uploaded the first of his now famous cover videos, quickly catching the attention of celebrity fans including Justin BieberSia and Alicia Keys, who even posted her own video reacting to his cover of her song If I Ain’t Got You.

The performance starts in the dark with Sam’s clothes glowing. Then the huge prop lights up and we see everything.

A very solid vocal performance by Sam who doesn’t hesitate to show his full range.

The prop opens during the final chorus and the lights turn gold. Sam also plays the guitar!

There were some errors with the cameras showing the crew moving the prop in the first run, but a huge applause in the end.

This is a strong contender.

During the second run the camera work improved. The third run was the best so far.

Next up on stage for their second rehearsal is Italy and Mahmood & BLANCO with the song “Brividi”.

Who are Mahmood & BLANCO?

As with reigning Contest champs Måneskin, Mahmood shot to fame on The X Factor Italia. The Milanese musician released a succession of singles thereafter, and has also put out two full-length albums. The artist’s biggest hit to date has been Soldi, which finished second at Eurovision in 2019 and became the most-streamed Eurovision song of all time on Spotify.

BLANCO is a singer/rapper from Brescia with big aspirations. His 2021 single, Mi Fai Impazzire, spent 8 weeks at the top of the Italian charts, and was followed by the release of debut album, Blu Celeste, which also shot to number one.

The Rehearsal

Mahmood got rid of the sunglasses and Blanco is on stage this time! Mahmood is dressed in black and Blanco in white. Michelangelo, the song’s composer is also on stage playing the piano.

During the second verse Blanco sits on the piano. The staging is similar to their Sanremo performance, dark with white lights. Vocally they weren’t spot on during the first run, but they got an applause.

The second run was better. In the third run they were more comortable, but the vocal issues persisted. Blanco kisses Mahmood on the cheek when the performance ends.

Eurovision 2022: France’s second rehearsal

Today is the final day of rehearsals in Turin, with the second rehearsals of the BIG 5 countries!

Next up on stage for their second rehearsal is France and Alvan & Ahez with the song “Fulenn”.

Who are Alvan & Ahez?

Alvan is a multi-instrumentalist electro artist from the French region of Brittany, the same place vocal group Ahez hail from. As an artist, Alvan loves to mix different genres within his own music, and despite his sound mostly being rooted in electronica, he also uses a lot of traditional chants and organic elements in his hybrid compositions.

Ahez (MarineSterenn and Stereen) are a traditional vocal group who aim to showcase their regional heritage through music, by writing and singing in their native language, Breton. In their songs, they tell contemporary stories that reference the ancient myths of Brittany.

Alvan & Ahez have made it known they want to show that tradition is not something stuck in the past, but rather, it is constantly evolving.

The Rehearsal

A similar staging to the national final’s one. Green lighting, fire and misty effects. The group is dressed in black and gold and they deliver a satisfactory vocal performance. There are quick shots and close-ups to the band members.

Alvan plays different musical instruments and the girls move around. There is also the same dancer as in the national final.

It seems they have improved a lot compared to their appearances to the pre-parties.

The streaming of the first run was cut before the run had finished. The second run was better. The third run was even better both vocally and visually, with some braziers added. The band themselves seems satisfied.

Eurovision 2022: The Semifinals will have different directors!

An interesting piece of information worth mentioning, especially after the problems identified in the rehearsals of the second semifinal. So according to our valid and completely cross-referenced information, it won’t be the same director in both semifinals. but different.

RAI uses different directors in the two semifinals, something that has its value, since it seems that one of the possible sources of the many problems in the rehearsals of the second semifinal is its director.

Unlike the director of the first semifinal who is quite receptive to the prompts of each delegation, the director of the second semifinal wants a bigger say in the TV result. This has caused a lot of problems in today’s rehearsals.

With anxiety and interest we will now wait for the dress rehearsals next week, since we are slowly moving on to the live shows.

Tomorrow, Saturday 7/5, the second rehearsals will end, with the rehearsals of the Big5.
